Jalen Blot(III)

Jalen Blot is a Haitian-American writer/director based in Los Angeles. His work explores identity, grief, and fractured masculinity through character-driven stories grounded in emotional realism and cultural specificity. With a background as a product manager at Meta, Jalen brings a unique lens to storytelling informed by leadership, systems thinking, and a deep curiosity about human behavior. His shorts have screened at the BronzeLens Film Festival, Pan African Film Festival, Diversity in Cannes, and Nickelodeon Animation Studios. Jalen was a 2024 Directing fellow in Issa Rae's ColorCreative Find Your People Program and a 2024 Commercial Directors Diversity Program Semi-finalist. He's passionate about building emotionally resonant films that challenge how we see grief, morality, and silence.
