We find out much later that she’s been betrayed by her ex enough to leave her incapable of trusting anybody fully. Tyler Perry's Duplicity is his latest spotlight of Black talent whose faces millennials will recall from throwback YA series like Sister, Sister (RonReaco Lee) and even The Vampire Diaries (Kat Graham). It looks and feels like it was shot in Georgia, with a by-the-numbers tale centered on racism, justice, betrayal and conspiracy. All the makings of another rinse-repeat of Perry mojo that might end up continuing his streak of underwhelming Rotten Tomatoes scores, due to the story's derivative nature and unfortunate lack hardhitting performances.

Nonetheless, this is the brilliantly minded Perry we're talking about, folks, so be prepared for at least a few plot twists and turns along the way that might keep you seated throughout this new straight-to-Prime Video entry until the final credits roll.
