Charades has acquired international sales rights to Diego Céspedes’ debut feature “The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo” ahead of its world premiere at Cannes’s Un Certain Regard.

Set in the early 1980′, in the Chilean desert, the film tells the story of 11 year-old Lidia who “grows up in a loving queer family pushed on the edge of an unwelcoming dusty mining town. They are blamed for a mysterious illness that’s starting to spread – said to be passed through a single gaze, when one man falls in love with another. In this modern western, Lidia leads a quest for vengeance, facing violence, fear and hatred, where family is her only refuge and love might be the real danger,” the synopsis reads.

Cespedes said, “This isn’t a story about heroes. I simply want to reclaim those who were pushed aside and forgotten. And also laugh a little.”

Pedro Jimeno from The Family Chantel is in the Dominican Republic to celebrate a special occasion with his family. The reality star was once happily married to Chantel Everett. However, as Pedro excelled as a real estate agent, he started looking down on Chantel and filed for divorce in May 2022. Fast-forward to November 2024, he recently shared a downhearted Instagram Story, a video of himself looking out the window of a plane. In the video, Pedro suggested that he was flying out of the United States and included sad music lyrics about living without love and affection.

Pedro recently shared several Instagram Stories that revealed the real reason why he flew from America to the Dominican Republic. He returned home to celebrate his mother, Lidia Morel's birthday.

Pedro reposted Lidia's Instagram post on his own story to wish her a happy birthday, using the upbeat song "Beautiful Life" by Mentol.
