A docuseries with “unprecedented access” to top NHL stars is coming to Prime Video.

The Amazon-owned streaming platform has picked up a still-untitled docuseries from Drive to Survive producer Box to Box Films and NHL Productions that will follow some of the biggest stars and teams in the sport.

Among the players being featured in the series will be Edmonton Oilers stars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl; Boston Bruins teammates David Pastrnak and Jeremy Swayman; New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba; Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes; Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk; Vegas Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel; Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander, among others.

Crews are also embedded with the Panthers and Oilers, following McDavid, Tkachuk and their teammates and fans as they seek the Stanley Cup.

Prime Video has exclusive NHL rights in Canada, and this series will complement that, though it will also be available in the U.

Reunited, and it feels so good. The National Hockey League will be back on ESPN in the fall after 16 years as the league and cable net have agreed to a new seven-year TV deal. It’s the latest stint for the NHL on the Disney-owned Worldwide Leader, which aired games at various times during the 1980s, ’90s and 2000s, but not since 2004.

Terms of the deal were not announced, but the parties said in a conference call Wednesday that the NHL owners and the Disney board were “satisfied.”

The news comes as the league’s 10-year pact with NBC Sports is set to expire at the Covid-shortened current season‘s end in late spring or early summer.
