Jesslyn Blue was born in Neptune, NJ on May 9, 1989, and grew up with her mother, stepfather, and five siblings. She had a passion for the arts at a young age that her parents enrolled her in annual summer programs for painting, writing, and theater.

She began acting by transferring her skills of memorization, timing, blocking, and expression from her pursuit of spoken word poetry. In senior year, she was slamming with the local all-female team "The Ladies of Loser Slam," and was published in her school's literary magazine. She attended college at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ, and graduated with a B.A in English. At college, she took classes in acting, film, and literature while working, performing, and being the Treasurer of the campus LGBTQ organization.

Upon graduating in 2012, she became immersed in the Newark arts scene of poetry, music, and theater. She independently ran a creative writing workshop for two years at the local Newark LGBTQ community center. In 2017, she independently published her first book of poetry available for wide distribution, "C'est La Vie: The 2nd Ed."

She is pursuing an acting and modeling career. Her previous modeling campaigns include Handsome Cupcakes, Keirin Cut Jeans, and Caesar's Palace; music videos for Harlem's rap duo, Mankind; rock duo, FabtheDuo; and Life Lava. She has starred in a multitude of films, television, and commercials as a background actress, featuring in Netflix's "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" (2018) and HBO's "The Deuce" (2019). But her defining moment came in the short film "One Take Poet Series" (2018) Dir. Yuri Alves, that highlighted her original poem and reimagined it as a heart-wrenching monologue; followed by "Phosphene" (2019) Dir. Byran Riberio, about the strange, connected occurrences surrounding artists, drugs, and the nine-five.

She resides in New York City with her flowers, books, and tarot cards.
