Born in New Jersey, her Mother enrolled her in performing arts as a child due to her unique talents, featured in commercials and beauty pageants she was a natural comic & performer. Rissa was inspired from childhood from her extremely close relationship with her Italian Mother and her unique style & personality to major in Fashion & minor in performing arts. Rissa earned a BFA in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC & pursued Performing Arts classes, where she created comical skits about their Mother/Daughter Jersey lifestyle. Rissa began redefining the dynamic of how women of all ages interact with their Mom. This contributed to the Unique originality in her concept work for Smothered, cross- generating a comical spin on the Mother/Daughter world.
