Son of António José de Santa Marta Granger Rodrigues, great-great-grandson of a French, great-great-grandson of the 2nd Viscount (formerly Baron) of Andaluz, great-great-grandson of a brother of the 1st Viscount of Monte São Nobleman of Coat of Arms of Ribeiro (timber) and Freire de Andrade with crown of Viscount (father of the 1st Count of Valenças Nobleman of Coat of Arms of Ribeiro (timber) and Freire de Andrade with crown of Count) and great-great-great-great-grandson of the 1st Viscount of Santarém Nobleman of Coat of Arms of de Sousa of the Lords of o Prado alias of the Lords of Mortágua (timber) and de Barros with crown of Viscount and second wife, a sister of the 1st Viscount of a Lançada Nobleman of Coat of Arms of de Sampaio (timber) and de Pina with crown of Viscount, and wife Maria Teresa de São Luís Guerra Tavares.

Has an older sister, Margarida Guerra Tavares Granger Rodrigues (b. 4 June 1977) and a younger brother, Francisco Guerra Tavares Granger Rodrigues (b. 15 January 1985), married at the Basílica da Estrela at Estrela, Lisbon, on 3 August 2013 to Mariana Ilda Howorth Barbosa da Cruz (b. Lisbon, 9 July 1987), a lawyer, whose mother is a patrilineal great-great-grandniece of the 1st Baron of Howorth of Sacavém Nobleman of Coat of Arms of Howorth (crest), Stott, Stott and Howorth (crest) with crown of Baron.
