“NCIS” duo Tony Dinozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) are back in action in the first trailer for the upcoming spinoff: “NCIS: Tony & Ziva,” which Paramount+ unveiled on Monday.
The trailer finds the former naval agents retired and living happily in France with their 12-year-old daughter, Tali (Isla Gie).
“Dad and I used to do work that was dangerous, so if anyone tries to hurt us, we’ve planned for it,” Ziva tells their daughter. Despite their precautions, which include a personal bodyguard, the girl is kidnapped, forcing her parents back into the field.
Tony wants to know if Ziva still “keeps all that deadly stuff in your cookie jars?” She responds, “I leveled up a bit as we see a full arsenal of guns, grenades and rifles.”
Ziva sums up their plan of action thusly, “What we’re depending on to save all of these...

Tony and Ziva is the NCIS series that has fans most intrigued. NCIS: Sydney has done an excellent job of introducing new characters, and NCIS: Origins has managed to reignite fan interest in the past of a beloved veteran, but Tony and Ziva is a direct sequel to the flagship series.
It's an interesting proposition, especially since we haven't gotten to see Tony Dinozzo (Michael Weatherly) or Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) in action for over a decade. We're eager to catch up with them, and while NBC has been hesitant to issue a proper release date, we now have a window in which we can expect to see the spinoff.

Looking for that classic, hard-hitting Jason Statham action flick? Well, look no further. “A Working Man” delivers exactly what you’d expect: an action-packed thrill ride featuring a good-hearted, tough-as-nails veteran who spends most of his time punching and shooting his way through trouble.
The action genre welcomes another entry with “A Working Man,” a 2025 American action thriller starring the ever-reliable Jason Statham. The film marks a reunion between Statham and director David Ayer, following their successful collaboration on “The Beekeeper.” Adding to the action pedigree, the project features action cinema icon Sylvester Stallone, who co-wrote the screenplay with Ayer. This collaboration hints at a continuation of their prior successful formula, promising audiences a heavy dose of Statham’s signature action prowess. The story centers on a former elite operative attempting to live a quiet life as a working man, but who is inevitably drawn back into the dangerous world he left behind.

Directed by David Ayer and co-written by Ayer and Sylvester Stallone, A Working Man attempts to balance the rough, working-class world with brutal, high-stakes action. While it delivers on its promise of hard-hitting fights and suspense, it struggles to offer much beyond the standard revenge-thriller formula.
The story follows Levon Cade (Jason Statham) as he reluctantly leaves behind his peaceful life to track down a dangerous human trafficking ring. Along the way, he faces off against a string of ruthless criminals, including Russian mobsters and outlaw biker gangs. When you think of Jason Statham, you think of high-octane action, cold-blooded revenge, and a whole lot of punching people in the face. But in A Working Man, David Ayer wanted to give audiences a different side of the action superstar — one that lets him smile, connect, and embrace a family dynamic in a way rarely seen in his filmography. The result? A grittier, more emotionally resonant thriller that still delivers all the hard-hitting action that fans expect.
For Ayer and Statham, that's a striking departure from Statham’s usual lone-wolf persona. While his characters occasionally have loved ones in the background — maybe a daughter in distress or a fallen comrade to avenge — his roles rarely allow for the warmth and connection that Ayer was determined to explore, as the director explained to Collider's Steve Weintraub in an interview ahead of the movie's release later this month. He said:...

David Ayer is a filmmaker whose sincerity has never been in doubt, as he is one of the few writer/directors of genre stories that has refused to give into snarkiness or overt satire. The grim, tough-minded sensibilities that worked so perfectly for “End of Watch” may have failed him with “Bright,” but it is nonetheless admirable that Ayer doesn’t believe he should speak down to his audience. Ayer’s films don’t lack self-awareness, but they don’t apologize for their blunt emotionality and occasionally simplistic messaging. Despite flirtations with both the prestige and the populist, Ayer has found a niche for himself with movies like A Working Man (2025) which offer enough B-movie thrills and non-nonsense pathos to be completely entertaining.

John Rambo, as portrayed by actor Sylvester Stallone, is a controversial character. When he first appeared in 1982's "First Blood," an adaptation of David Morrell's 1972 novel of the same name, the character was fairly close to how he appeared in the book: a Vietnam War veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder who is mistreated by his fellow countrymen. That all changed with 1985's "Rambo: First Blood Part II," a movie wherein Rambo, through the act of being deployed back into Vietnam to rescue prisoners of war, symbolically gets to "win" the war that America lost. From there, the rest of the franchise saw Rambo being called upon for assistance by other underdogs involved in impossible or hard-odds conflicts around the world, turning him into a sort of morally-motivated mercenary. While the character eventually stopped resembling the resentful, broken soldier of Morrell's book as he became stronger and more traditionally heroic,...

Jason Statham and Sylvester Stallone have collaborated on multiple projects over the years, and we’re not just talking about the four Expendables movies they made together. Stallone also wrote the screenplay for the 2013 Statham action film Homefront, which was directed by Gary Fleder and based on a novel by Chuck Logan. Now, Statham and Stallone are continuing their working relationship with the action thriller A Working Man, which also reunites Statham with his The Beekeeper director David Ayer – and looks to be very much along the same lines as that film. A Working Man is set to reach theatres on March 28th, and in anticipation of its release, we decided to put together a list of everything we know about the movie. Here we go:

Jason Statham and director David Ayer give vile human traffickers a brutal comeuppance in A Working Man, a bone-crushing actioner that delivers exactly what audiences expect.Sylvester Stallone adapts the script from the novel Levon's Trade by Chuck Dixon, the first in a popular series of 12 books. Can you smell the franchise cooking? A Working Man is chock-full of archetypal characters with the requisite damsel in distress, loathsome villains, and a butt-kicking hero unfairly maligned for trying to do the right thing against daunting odds. There are honestly not many surprises, but you'll walk out of the theater sufficiently entertained.

It's a truth universally acknowledged, that even the most balanced moviegoing diet needs some cinematic junk food thrown in there every now and then. Don't get me wrong — it'd be nice if every action blockbuster rose to the same heights of a "Mad Max: Fury Road" or if every popcorn flick could channel the ruthless efficiency of a Tony Scott film. But we don't live in that ideal world and, frankly, it'd probably be a little boring if we did. Make no mistake: At a time when we can't afford to be picky about what brings audiences to theaters, there is definitely room for empty calorie entertainment.

Jason Statham is good at his job, which explains why he keeps booking the same kinds of movies — well, that and the fact that people keep watching them. Reuniting the British action star with “The Beekeeper” writer-director David Ayer, “A Working Man” makes the least effort yet to provide backstory or motive before sending Statham’s latest character, Levon Cade, on a spectacularly violent rampage. Statham’s responsibility here is to make the Royal Marines veteran turned Chicago construction foreman look experienced enough to do serious damage, without directly repeating the dozen other movies in which he’s done so already.
Statham plays the “reluctant” vigilante, putting aside his uniquely lethal skill set for a respectable job and shared custody of his young daughter (Isla Gie), which isn’t so easy while living out of a rented pickup truck. Before the trouble starts, Levon is beloved by all, with co-workers...

Things aren’t going very well for Jason Statham’s character in the actor’s new action vehicle. He’s sleeping in his car, desperately in need of funds for the legal fees necessary to secure custody of his young daughter (Isla Gie) from her grandfather. And although he has a solid job as a construction foreman, trouble always seems to come his way, as when he’s forced to reveal his tremendous fighting skills when a gang of toughs show up to threaten one of his workers.
“You didn’t see anything,” he tells his boss’ daughter Jenny (Arrianna Rivas) after she witnesses him in action and guesses correctly that he’s no mere working man, despite the film’s title.
Not long afterward, Jenny goes to a local bar and winds up missing. Her distraught parents (Michael Peña, Noemi Gonzalez), aware of their employee’s elite military past,...

Jason Statham’s Levon Cade isn’t just a simple “working man.” Sure, he’s putting in the sweat equity as a foreman at his friend Joe’s (Michael Peña) construction company, but it’s not long into David Ayer’s film before we learn of his past as a highly trained and decorated member of the British military. Full of close-ups of bullets, dog tags, helmets, and British and American flags, the opening credits serve up a barrage of images of military fetishization, only for the film to leave us with the realization that Levon’s service was underappreciated.
Not only is Levon blamed by his rich ex-father-in-law (Richard Heap) for the death of his mother—she committed suicide while he was serving overseas—but his lawyers suggest that his untreated Ptsd will make it difficult for him to get custody of his daughter (Isla Gie). The notion of...

With a Jason Statham-starring movie you know upfront what to expect. A Working Man is no different. In fact, I don’t know why they bother to give these movies titles. Just call it Jason Statham and put a number after that for all the inevitable sequels.
A Working Man seems set up to start a franchise for Statham in which he plays Levon Cade, a former Royal Guard soldier now working as a blue collar Chicago construction worker who is trying to be a good family man grieving the loss of his wife and attempting to get custody of their daughter, Merry (Isla Gie) whose grandfather is attempting to take away from Levon. This film is based on the book Levon’s Trade by Chuck Dixon who has 12 books in all, fashioned after the character. When "NCIS" debuted in 2003 (as a spinoff of "Jag"), no one could've predicted it would become one of the most successful franchises on television. Sure, it had a shot at longevity being a law enforcement procedural at a network, CBS, that knew how to develop them (as evidenced from their expanding "CSI" brand). But a series that lasted 23 seasons (and counting) while spawning six spinoffs (to date)? Not even series creators Donald P. Bellisario and Don McGill could've seen this coming.
22 years later, the "NCIS" franchise is on the cusp of introducing what might be its most highly anticipated new series thus far. Even if you're only a casual "NCIS" fan, you know all about Senior Field Agent Tony Dinozzo and Special Agent Ziva David. Jason Statham is one of the most beloved and successful action heroes. With several projects a year, the actor is set to reunite again with the director of 2024's The Beekeeper.
Following the success of the 2024 action film, Statham teamed up again with David Ayer for a new action movie. The upcoming project is titled A Working Man, which bears several similarities with The Beekeeper, as Statham plays Levon Cade, a character who seems a regular construction worker, but hides a past that includes a military career in the black ops. On X, Ayer teased the upcoming film with a black-and-white shot of Statham with a construction cap as he holds a gun.

As the universe of the ever-popular procedural series continues to grow, a new NCIS spinoff, NCIS: Tony & Ziva, is in the works at Paramount+. The NCIS franchise launched in 2003 as a backdoor pilot on Jag, and follows the agents of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service as they solve cases that take place within the United States military system. Over its two decades on the air, NCIS has blossomed into a bona fide TV institution with several successful offshoots.
Even as NCIS climbs past its 20th season, the franchise is reaching a new period of expansion in the 2020s with the announcement of fresh spinoffs. Instead of merely replicating the success of the original series in a new location, the latest spinoffs are more character-driven and even take place in different periods in the show's timeline.
