Paramount+ premiered the werewolf horror series “Wolf Pack” back in January 2023, and TV Line reports tonight that the series has already been cancelled after just one season.

Sarah Michelle Gellar made her return to horror in the series.

TV Line reports, “Last summer’s dual Hollywood strikes were the final nail in Wolf Pack‘s coffin. According to sources, a potential second season would not have been ready for nearly two years after the conclusion of Season 1.”

“Wolf Pack,” written and produced by Jeff Davis, follows a teenage boy and girl whose lives are changed forever when a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature and drives it to attack a highway traffic jam beneath the burning hills.

Wounded in the chaos, the boy and girl are inexplicably drawn to each other and to two other teenagers who were adopted sixteen years earlier by a park ranger after another mysterious wildfire.

Wolf Pack's season 2 renewal is uncertain, leaving viewers in suspense. Season 1 ended with a twist involving Sarah Michelle Gellar's Kristin Ramsey. The fate of the show is unclear, and Paramount Plus has already canceled other young adult series.

Wolf Pack season 2 receives an update a long time after the show premiered in January 2023. Based on the book series by Edo van Belkom and from Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis, season 1 of the Paramount Plus supernatural drama consisted of eight episodes. The story centers around two teenagers — Everett (Armani Jackson) and Blake (Bella Shepard) — and chronicles what happens as their lives are forever changed in the wake of a California wildfire that awakens a terrifying creature. The teens are wounded in the chaos of the attack, finding that they're inexplicably drawn to one another, as well as twins who experienced similar circumstances.

Wolf Pack season 2 gets another update from star Sarah Michelle Gellar after its cliffhanger finale. Paramount+'s Wolf Pack follows teenagers Everett Lang (Armani Jackson) and Blake Navarro (Bella Shepard) who are bitten by a werewolf during a California forest fire. Gellar stars as arson investigator Kristin Ramsey, whose real identity was revealed during the season 1 finale. Kristin, undercover investigating the cause of the fires, is actually the mother of high school seniors and werewolves Luna (Chloe Rose Robertson) and Harlan (Tyler Lawrence Gray) Briggs, along with the creature that's been terrorizing the town, Baron (Chase Liefeld).

While Gellar previously hinted at the possibility of a Wolf Pack season 2, her latest update to Variety offers a promising future for the series. Although Gellar's update is brief, she promises discussions are beginning to happen for season Wolf Pack season 2, saying, “the conversations are happening.”

It’s easy to think that the latest offering on Disney+ will be yet another inspirational, underdog sports movie. After all, the film concerns a 16-year-old Asian-American high-school student who sets out to prove that he can perform a slam dunk despite his underwhelming 5’8” height. So you can expect that by the end of Chang Can Dunk the titular hero will defy the odds, defeat his foe and win the hearts of everyone concerned. Right?

Well, yes and no. Writer-director Jingyi Shao covers all those bases (wrong sport, I know), including the obligatory training montage and the introduction of a wholesome romantic interest. But the filmmaker, making his feature debut, also has more interesting things in mind, delivering a darker, more complex story that nonetheless proves utterly heartwarming by the end.

“Chang Can Dunk” doesn’t go the way you’d expect, and that’s a good thing. Here’s a Disney movie about a 5-foot-8-inch Chinese American high school basketball player who bets his rival that he can dunk by the end of the season. He gets his wish about an hour in, but there’s still a long way for the character to go — and grow — in a film that believes maturity isn’t achieved by shortcuts.

The result marks the attention-worthy debut of writer-director Jingyi Shao, and exemplifies the sort of movies Disney should be making: It has its values in the right place, but doesn’t pretend its hero is perfect. What starts as a simple goal to dunk a basketball becomes a teenager's journey of self-discovery in Disney+'s new coming-of-age film, Chang Can Dunk. The first trailer has been released for Disney+'s newest original film, Chang Can Dunk. Written and directed by Jingyi Shao, making his feature film debut, the inspiring coming-of-age sports comedy stars Bloom Li, Dexter Darden, Chase Liefeld, Ben Wang and Zoe Renee. The project has been in development since 2021, when Disney acquired the script, and it was announced that Shao would helm the movie. Filming took place at the end of that year, with the film set to be released on the platform this spring.

Disney+ has unveiled the trailer for “Chang Can Dunk” from filmmaker Jingyi Shao, one of Variety’s “10 Directors to Watch” for 2023.

The coming-of-age sports film — which begins streaming March 10 — follows Chang (Bloom Li), an unpopular high schooler who loves basketball and Pokémon. Chang finds himself wagering a bet with the school’s all-star player, Matt (Chase Liefeld), that he will be able to make a slam dunk — in 12 weeks time.

Wolf Pack might become one of the best supernatural series in years.

Paramount+ today revealed the official trailer and key art for the new series, and it looks like a lot of fun.

Wolf Pack is set to premiere Thursday, January 26, exclusively on the service in the U.S. and Canada.

Written and produced by Jeff Davis, the series will premiere the following day on Friday, January 27, on Paramount+ in the U.K., Australia, Latin America, and Brazil.

Based on the book series by Edo Van Belkom, Wolf Pack follows a teenage boy and girl whose lives are changed forever when a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature and drives it to attack a highway traffic jam beneath the burning hills.

Wounded in the chaos, the boy and girl are inexplicably drawn to each other and to two other teenagers who were adopted 16 years earlier by a park ranger after another mysterious wildfire.

Fans of Teen Wolf were given an almighty treat during Brazil's Comic Con Xperience (Ccxp) on Sunday.

Oh, and there was even a treat for potential fans of Wolf Pack, the new series from the Jeff Davis, the creator of Teen Wolf.

Both Teen Wolf and Wolf Pack are set to premiere Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023 exclusively on the service in the U.S. and Canada.

The film, written and produced by Jeff Davis, will premiere the following day on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023 on Paramount+ in the U.K. and Australia.

In Latin America and Brazil, the film will be available early next year. Premiere dates for other Paramount+ international markets will be announced at a later date.

The film, which was written and produced by Jeff Davis, is set to premiere on Jan. 26, 2023 on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada.

“A full moon resizes in Beacon Hills, and with it, a terrifying evil has emerged,” reads a description of the movie via a press release. “The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of banshees, werecoyotes, hellhounds, kitsunes and every other shapeshifter in the night. But only a werewolf like Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), no longer a teenager yet still an alpha, can both gather new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced.”

The “Teen Wolf” movie has a premiere date!

The anticipated film, which members of the original cast, will drop Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023 on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada, it was announced Friday at New York Comic Con. It will be available on the streaming service the following day on Friday, Jan. 27 in the U.K., Latin America and Australia.

Release dates for other international territories will be announced later.

During the panel, which included original stars Tyler Posey, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, Crystal Reed, Colton Haynes, Vince Mattis, Khylin Rhambo, Amy Workman and Dylan Sprayberry, the first official clip from “Teen Wolf: The Movie” was released.

Paramount+ announced a premiere date for their upcoming original series “Wolf Pack,” as well as a new teaser trailer and additional casting for the show, Variety has exclusively learned.

Revealing details at New York Comic Con, Paramount+ shared news that “Wolf Pack” would premiere Thursday, January 26, 2023, the same day as “Teen Wolf: The Movie.”

Alongside announced cast such as Sarah Michelle Gellar, Armani Jackson, Rodrigo Santoro, Bella Shepard and more, the streamer shared that Bailey Stender, Chase Liefeld, Hollie Bahar, Lanny Joon, Rio Mangini, Stella Smith, Zack Nelson and James Martinez have joined the show in recurring roles. In the Jingyi Shao directed and written movie, a 16 year-old 5’6” Asian-American student (Bloom Li) bets the school jock he can dunk a basketball at Homecoming, leading him on a quest to find the hops he needs to dunk and finally impress his crush. Chase Liefeld also stars.

Darden will play DeAndre, a former pro basketball player and two-time Estonia League Mvp. Deandre is a millennial hustler trying to grow his social media following, and he agrees to coach Chang. Wang will play Bo, Chang’s best friend.

Producers are Lena Waithe and Rishi Rajani through their Hillman Grad Productions banner, Brad Weston and Makeready.

Darden will reprise his starring role in Peacock/NBC hit series reboot of Saved By The Bell returning for season 2 Nov.

Exclusive: Chase Liefeld has joined the cast of Disney Studios’ high school basketball movie Chang Can Dunk which is intended for debut on Disney+.

The Yorba Linda, CA native will play Matt, the high school’s star basketball player, who becomes an obsession of 16-year old Chang, who we told you Bloom Li is set to play. Chang is a constantly marginalized, not-popular kid who wants to learn how to dunk so bad, he wants to best Matt at his game and win the adoration of Kristy.

Jingyi Shao is writing and directing the feature from Lena Waithe and Rishi Rajani’s Hillman Grad Productions. They’re producing with Brad Weston and Negin Salmasi.

Liefeld’s credits include the indie feature Honor Student from director Tamika Miller and the YouTube series Sunnyside Up. He is repped by Robert Stein Management and Gersh.

The indie centers on Jeremy Chue who is a picture-perfect teenager. He is talented, has the perfect grades, a well-off family, and attends a prestigious Washington, D.C. private school.
