A self-proclaimed cinephile with a penchant for anything Richard Curtis or Agatha Christie, Miriam van Emst is a multi-versed, dynamic BIPOC filmmaker based in Vancouver, Canada. She is the writer of two TV movies, Lifetime's Confessions of a Cam Girl and the CW & Bell Media's Savvy Sheldon Feels Good As Hell. Her research work for the History Channel's documentary OUR WAR won a 2024 Leo Award. Other credits include story editor on WHEN HOPE CALLS (Hallmark & GMC), Associate Producer on THE WATCHFUL EYE (ABC/Disney+), and Writer Assistant for seasons 2 and 3 of FAMILY LAW. Miriam has produced and directed scripted content for brands like Amazon and Unilever and created documentaries for NGOs such as UN Women and World Vision. She prides herself on bringing stories from underrepresented groups to the big screen and pretending her two cats actually like her.
