Chvrches’ Lauren Mayberry Debuts First Solo Single “Are You Awake?”: Stream
Image
Lauren Mayberry of Chvrches has unveiled her first solo single “Are You Awake?”

The Scottish singer-songwriter co-wrote the melancholic ballad with reigning Grammy Songwriter of the Year Tobias Jesso Jr. as well as pop-punk artist Matthew Koma, who added finishing touches to the delicate arrangement.

In a video prefacing the song’s release, Mayberry shared that “Are You Awake?” was a “happy accident” and fittingly came together on “a grey, rainy afternoon in December” when she was feeling “pretty homesick and missing everyone.” Luckily, she found a kindred spirit in native Canadian Jesso Jr as “people who are not from America living in America.” Stream the single below.

Mayberry is set to embark on her first solo headlining trek in September, along with support dates for The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie’s joint tour. Check for tickets to all of her upcoming shows via here,

‘Pasoori’ Singer Ali Sethi Is All Set For Coachella As He Talks About ‘Cultural Awakening’
Image
Best known for blending classical Hindustani ragas with Western musical influences, Pakistani singer-composer Ali Sethi is a unique find on the Coachella lineup this year. The prestigious L.A.-based festival scheduled to take place in April is one of the most popular musical events in the world and considered a trendsetter in music.

Coachella, returning for the 22nd time (it was canceled in 2020 and ’21 due to the pandemic), has been dominated by artists specializing in rock, pop, indie, hip hop and electronic dance music. But this year’s lineup may be the festival’s most globally inclusive yet. The headliners for the event which sees as many as 750,000 people in total over its six days (as of 2022) are Bad Bunny, Blackpink and Frank Ocean. Harry Styles, who performed on the opening day last year will be closing his Love On Tour in the valley this year.
