Drake’s parent label Universal Music Group has dissed the rapper in a legal response to his defamation lawsuit, claiming he turned to the courts after “[losing] a rap battle” against Kendrick Lamar.

Even though Whole Lotta Red and 2018’s Die Lit were both an hour long, they still felt focused and of a piece. Music is a good 15 minutes longer, offering 30 tracks that span myriad styles and producers. It’s messy and less cohesive than anything he’s released to date, but it also demonstrates the staggering range of mainstream rap’s most eccentric, experimental, and enigmatic auteur.

Director Paul Feig’s sequel film stars Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, reprising their roles from 2018’s “A Simple Favor.” However, Stone claims she, too, was part of the ensemble cast.

“I Loved being cast and removed from my role unexpectedly for no reason at all Loved it,” Stone wrote to an E! News Instagram reel about the film. Stone was in talks for the role that later went to Elizabeth Perkins. A source close to production confirmed that Stone was never actually cast in the film; the deal did not go through due to budget issues. IndieWire has additionally reached out to representatives for Amazon MGM Studios and Stone.

Another Simple Favor earned a very warm welcome from the Austin audience at the opening night of the 2025 SXSW Film and TV festival, as star Blake Lively premiered her first movie since her ongoing and well-publicized legal battle with her It Ends with Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni.

Blake Lively, Anna Kendrick, and filmmaker Paul Feig came out to support their new film, Another Simple Favor, at its premiere at the South by Southwest Film & Television Festival on Friday night.

Lively received a warm welcome at the screening, where she spoke publicly for the first time since her legal battle with It Ends With Us star and director Justin Baldoni became tabloid fodder over the last several months. Appearing under heavy security, Lively kept her remarks strictly business. “I love this character so much. It’s probably my favorite character I’ve ever been fortunate enough to play,” she said after the screening as the cast gathered onstage. “So when Paul asked us to come back, I was so excited.”

Lively has kept a low profile amid the legal drama. Her only previous public appearance of note came last month for the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary special.

The original movie made just under $100 million at the box office, nearly five times its budget. Rather than a theatrical release, the sequel is debuting on Prime Video on May 1.
