Jason Clarke Braces for a "Nonstop Wild Ride" in New Look at Apple TV+'s Survival Thriller 'The Last Frontier' [Exclusive]
Image
As part of Collider's Exclusive Preview event, we’re thrilled to debut a striking image of Jason Clarke in The Last Frontier, the upcoming Apple TV+ survival thriller from The Blacklist creator Jon Bokenkamp. Streaming October 10, the 10-episode series throws Clarke’s Frank Remnick — a lone U.S. Marshal — into an unforgiving Alaskan wilderness after a prison transport plane crashes, unleashing dozens of dangerous fugitives into the snow-covered barrens.

Clarke, who co-executive produces, says what drew him to Frank was the chance to play “a good man with moral complexity rather than a bad man who is morally challenged.” He explained, “I love moral complexity in a character. This time, I liked the idea of playing a good man with moral complexity rather than a bad man who is morally challenged." Clarke continued, saying, "The promise of adventure sealed the deal. The story was written as a nonstop wild ride,...

John Cena’s Next Big Move Before WWE Retirement Can Earn Him Millions
Image
With every passing day, we are moving one step closer to John Cena‘s retirement from the WWE, which is coming over two decades after he first signed with the company. The retirement means Cena can give his full attention to Hollywood, and it looks like he is already making all the right choices, especially considering his next move.

According to a report by Deadline, Cena and Kevin Hart are all set to star in an action comedy titled ‘The Leading Man’. Writers Jon and Erich Hoeber have pitched the idea to Netflix, which has supposedly impressed the streaming giant.

There is no denying that Cena and comedy go together like peanut butter and jelly. Add Hart to the mix and you’ve got yourself the perfect formula for a big hit. Just ask Dwayne Johnson. Whether it’s ‘Central Intelligence’ or the ‘Jumanji’ films, a collaboration with Hart can be gold if done right.

Kevin Hart & John Cena To Lead New Netflix Action Comedy 'The Leading Man'
Image
Kevin Hart and John Cena are joining forces in, you guessed it, an action comedy from streaming giant Netflix. Not only are the movie stars destined to become a fierce combination, they will do so adapting a killer mid-2000s comic book series. In true Hart fashion, the upcoming adaptation is set in the world of Hollywood movie stars, but with a spy twist.

Deadline reports that Hart and Cena are set to star in and produce The Leading Man, a feature-length adaptation of B. Clay Moore and Jeremy Haun's comic book series of the same name. The project is in early development, but writers Jon and Erich Hoeber have officially sold their pitch to Netflix, which has a multi-picture deal with Hart. The upcoming film will follow a major movie actor who finds out his co-star is a real-life special agent. Read the film's splashy logline:

Here’s What Chris Hemsworth Revealed About The Future Of Extraction 3! (Photo Credit – Netflix)

Chris Hemsworth has faced many tough roles, but right now, the biggest challenge on his mind is the future of the Extraction series. The action-packed Netflix franchise has earned solid praise, with two films out and an 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Still, progress on Extraction 3 has slowed down, and Hemsworth admits he is feeling the wait.

Chris Hemsworth Talks About Extraction 3 & Its Future

The team behind the films is brainstorming new ideas for the third installment, exploring different directions for Tyler Rake’s story. Hemsworth says the plan is definitely to make another movie, though no exact date is set yet.

“[Tyler Rake is] getting restless. We, the creative team, are putting together some different ideas and creative ventures of where we could take the whole place and the [third] film. But the intention is to certainly make another one.

Chris Hemsworth shares concerning Extraction 3 update (but it's not all bad news)
Image
It’s been over two years since Netflix announced Extraction 3 was officially happening, and it sounds like we could have to wait quite a while before the third film actually comes together.

During the 2023 Tudum event, Extraction star Chris Hemsworth and director Sam Hargrave revealed to fans that a third film in the franchise was officially in development. The news immediately created excitement among fans and the assumption was that a plan was already in place for where the franchise would go next.

One year later at 2024’s San Diego Comic-Con, Hemsworth told Screen Rant that the creative team was in the “middle of putting it together” and that they were working to “crack the story.” Well, fast forward to August 2025, and it seems work on the film has stalled with little progress made in the last year.

“He’s getting restless. He is. My inner Tyler Rake is...

Netflix's Extraction 3 Gets A New Update From Chris Hemsworth
Image
Chris Hemsworth offers an update on the planned Extraction 3. The upcoming movie was confirmed by Netflix after the success of the first two installments, which star Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, a former Australian Sasr operator turned black ops mercenary. The Russo brothers are expected to return as producers, while Sam Hargrave will again helm the project.

Despite being confirmed, the movie doesn't have a release date yet. Now, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hemsworth offered an update on where they are with Extraction 3. The Thor: Ragnarok star revealed that they are "putting together some different ideas" for the third movie, which they "certainly" have the intention to make. However, Hemsworth admitted that he doesn't have a timeline. Read what he said below:

Chris Hemsworth Gives an 'Extraction 3' Update That Action Fans Will Love
Image
Netflix's biggest action movie franchise is set to make a big comeback, according to its leading star, Chris Hemsworth. Action movies are great, but action movies made by stunt performers are on a whole other level. That's what Netflix brought to the proverbial table in 2020 with Extraction. Starring Hemsworth as mercenary Tyler Rake, the film was ball-to-the-wall action, including a gigantic one-take sequence, and plenty of John Wick-inspired action. A sequel, aptly titled Extraction 2, was released in 2023 and brought more of the same kick-ass action, and fans have been desperate for Hemsworth to return for a third installment (presumably titled Extraction 3) in the franchise. Thankfully, we might not be waiting too long.

During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter to promote the new season of his docuseries, Limitless: Live Better Now, Chris Hemsworth addressed the future of the Extraction franchise and where Tyler Rake could go next.

Chris Hemsworth Admits He's "Restless" Over 'Extraction 3's Slow Progress
Image
Chris Hemsworth has fought Norse gods, climbed canyon cables, and played live drums for Ed Sheeran — but there’s one challenge currently keeping him up at night: the future of Extraction. The Netflix franchise, which helped redefine the action genre on streaming, currently holds a solid 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is two films deep. But despite the success of both entries, Hemsworth admits progress on Extraction 3has slowed — and he’s feeling it, as he explained in a new interview.

“[Tyler Rake is] getting restless. We, the creative team, are putting together some different ideas and creative ventures of where we could take the whole place and the [third] film. But the intention is to certainly make another one. I don’t know exactly when, but yeah, it’ll be coming.”

Hemsworth’s restlessness isn’t surprising. The Extraction films have become a rare modern franchise that’s both action-packed and surprisingly introspective,...

Is Extraction 3 Happening? Chris Hemsworth Finally Breaks Silence on the Sequel
Image
Get ready for a 3rd Extraction film because it is officially in the works! In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, when asked about what the future holds for the Extraction franchise, Hemsworth shared:

[Tyler Rake’s] getting restless. He is. My inner Tyler Rake is feeling a certain amount of protest and needs to be released, for sure. That’s something we are working on, yeah. We, the creative team, are putting together some different ideas and creative ventures of where we could take the whole place and the [third] film. But the intention is to certainly make another one. I don’t know exactly when, but yeah, it’ll be coming.

The Extraction franchise stands as a pretty solid entry in the best Chris Hemsworth movies. The release of the second film in 2023 has left fans clamoring for a 3rd part for nearly 2 years. And those prayers have finally been answered in...

MCU star Chris Hemsworth will continue to cement himself as one of Hollywood’s favorite action heroes with the upcoming Amazon action thriller, Subversion. And we now know who will join him on this Die Hard-esque adventure into the depths.

Set to be directed by Patrick Vollrath for Amazon MGM, and written by Andrew Ferguson, Subversion has been described as “Die Hard on a submarine,” with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that the thriller “follows a once-promising naval commander (Hemsworth) who is blackmailed by a cartel-like organization into piloting a dangerous submarine carrying illegal cargo across international waters.

How Mattel Studios President and Chief Content Officer Robbie Brenner Is Crafting a Post-‘Barbie’ Slate
Image
How do you follow a phenomenon like “Barbie?” That was the task put in front of Robbie Brenner, President of Mattel Studios and Chief Content Officer in the wake of the $1.4 billion-grossing, Oscar-winning feminist blockbuster that served as the opening salvo for the Mattel Studios brand.

Brenner joined the company in 2018, and at first it seemed like a surprising fit. Brenner had cut her teeth working for Miramax in the 1990s, later serving executive roles at 20th Century Fox and Relativity and producing indies like “Dallas Buyers Club.” Perhaps it’s exactly that foundation that spurred Brenner to enthusiastically hire Greta Gerwig to co-write and direct “Barbie” – and, crucially, to give Gerwig the freedom to make something truly unique.

“For me, I feel like if we’re not trying to raise the bar on every single movie that we’re doing, if we’re not doing something that feels unexpected...

John Cena’s Fan-Favorite 11% Rotten Tomatoes Misfire Comes to a New Streamer Next Month

John Cena will next be seen reprising his role as Christopher Smith in Peacemaker Season 2, but shortly after he first played the DC hero, he starred in an action thriller that just got an exciting streaming update. Cena stars alongside Alison Brie in Freelance, the 2023 action comedy following an ex-special forces operative who takes a security job for a journalist to interview a dictator, but things go sideways fast when a coup breaks out. Freelance is currently streaming on Hulu, but Netflix has confirmed that it will begin streaming on the platform on August 2. However, it grossed only $10 million against a $40 million budget, making it a major flop.

Netflix's 'Extraction' Spin-Off Series Gets an Action-Packed Update
Image
Most people love a franchise and, apparently, so does streaming giant Netflix, which announced in February 2025 it had greenlit an eight-episode television series off-shoot based on the smash-hit action sensation Extraction. The action movie series is one of the few original movie franchises on Netflix's roster, and it is led by none other than Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth. The upcoming spin-off series will be headlined by Omar Sy, as revealed earlier in the year. According to What's On Netflix, production on the first season is scheduled to begin in December 2025 and will run through to early to mid-2026. As for filming locations, the report reveals that at least a part of it would be filmed in North Africa, Morocco to be precise. The Hemsworth-led films are also famed for globe-trotting with filming locations in India, Thailand, Australia, and the Czech Republic. Initial reports had suggested that filming would begin in...

Marvel reportedly working on an MCU project no one would've imagined
Image
When the Marvel Cinematic Universe first started, it didn't have the luxury of creating movies around Marvel's most popular heroes. Back then, the live-action rights of these beloved characters were scattered across multiple companies, such as Fox, which was in charge of X-Men and Daredevil, and Sony, which oversaw Spider-Man and Ghost Rider.

As such, the first MCU project ever made had to settle for shining the spotlight on Iron Man, who was considered a B-tier character at best. Much to everyone's surprise, the film premiered to critical and commercial acclaim, and since then, we've seen this "underdog story" repeat itself throughout history.

Back in the day, nobody understood why the MCU would create a Guardians of the Galaxy theatrical movie, yet here we are years later with an entire trilogy that's considered among the best sagas in superhero history. While not every single project featuring relatively unknown characters has...

Chris Hemsworth's 'Thor 5' Rumored to Be Looking at Action Director Sam Hargrave & Debut After 'Secret Wars'
Image
Thor: Love and Thunder was a movie that took everything good about Thor: Ragnarok and turned it up to a level that transformed it to mush. Although the movie proclaimed in its final card that Thor would return, and teased Hercules in its post-credits scene, the future of Chris Hemsworth’s long-serving character became very uncertain. However, a new rumor has suggested Hemworth’s return is now being planned beyond his Doomsday role, but with a big change.

While Hemsworth was the first person to be revealed during Marvel Studios’ elaborate Avengers: Doomsday cast announcement, many fans believed that his appearance in that movie and the subsequent Avengers: Secret Wars could well be the last time fans would see Thor appear in the franchise. According to insider Daniel Richtman, that may not be the case.

As shared on his Patreon channel, Richtman has suggested that Thor 5 is “officially” in development,...

Rumor: Marvel "Officially" Developing Thor 5...Without Ragnarok And Love And Thunder Director Taika Waititi
Image
Thor: Love and Thunder had the potential to be one of the best Marvel Studios movies ever. Heavily inspired by Jason Aaron's Thor run and featuring both The Mighty Thor and Gorr the God Butcher, the sequel had heaps going for it, including Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi.

The filmmaker had successfully reinvented the God of Thunder in 2017, and fans were excited to see what he'd do next. Unfortunately, he delivered a movie which largely disappointed fans, and even Chris Hemsworth has repeatedly acknowledged that the movie fell short.

Most fans agree that, after running wild with Thor: Love and Thunder and making the franchise too comedic, it's best for Waititi to move on. Extraction director Sam Hargrave has been named as a possible contender to helm Thor 5, and we have another update on the movie today.

According to scooper Daniel Richtman, Thor 5 is now "officially" in development at Marvel Studios.

Chris Hemsworth Issues Statement Amid Thor Retirement Talk
Image
Rumors are flying that Chris Hemsworth is preparing to hang up Mjolnir and end his tenure as Thor, and the actor issued a statement celebrating his superhero. After the MCU Og was confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday, The Cosmic Circus reported that Marvel Studios is gearing up for Thor's send-off that would also introduce the Thor Corps and reunite him with his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston).

These rumors only become more confusing amid claims that Marvel Studios is also developing Thor 5 with plans to abandon a franchise mainstay, aiming to replace Love & Thunder director Taika Waititi with Extraction filmmaker Sam Hargrave.

Chris Hemsworth posted a new video on his YouTube channel titled, "Thank You, The Legacy of Thor," featuring various clips, behind-the-scenes footage, and interview segments from his MCU tenure.

Thor's future plans in the MCU reportedly revealed (and they are huge)
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole came to be thanks to the bravery of six unexpected heroes. History was made the moment Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk, Hawkeye, Captain America, and Thor united to defeat Loki and the Chitauri forces during the events of The Avengers. Ever since that day, audiences have been on an unforgettable journey in which they've watched these characters grow, go on standalone adventures, get new costumes, and eventually assemble yet again to save half of the life in the universe. Unfortunately, we've also had to bid our farewells to some of them.

Out of the six starting Avengers, only three stand. Hulk has been aiding his cousin Jennifer Walters in controlling her newfound powers in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, while Clint Barton acted as Kate Bishop's mentor during the events of Hawkeye. So what about the God of Thunder? Well, he's...

MCU’s Most Neglected Hero Deserves Redemption With a War of the Realms Adaptation
Image
Thor is the founding member of the MCU’s Avengers, making his solo debut after Iron Man 2. He has been one of the most popular heroes in the franchise, although his last movie was a huge disappointment. Chris Hemsworth is confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, but his journey is still incomplete.

A fifth solo movie has been in the rumor mill for quite some time now, and though Taika Waititi is not involved, the franchise seems to still be in ruins. Thor certainly deserves a farewell worthy of him, as he has faced quite a lot of events since his debut in Thor. Jason Aaron’s The War of the Realms might be the perfect story to adapt for it.

Marvel is reportedly moving forward with the sequel we all want to see
Image
It would be an understatement to say that anticipation is at an all-time high for Earth's Mightiest Heroes to make an explosive comeback in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. But while all eyes are set on these two epic crossovers, there are even more stories awaiting behind them. The Marvel Cinematic Universe shows no signs of slowing down, and fans wonder what their next phase will be about. Could we finally get stand-alone projects centered on the X-Men? Will the supernatural take over as the Midnight Suns steal the spotlight? Will we ever see The Eternals 2?

The third phase of the MCU will kick-start after Avengers: Secret Wars, and so far, we have no clue what its overarching narrative will look like or who will get to be a part of it. After all, many are expected to bite the dust once Doom arrives and the Multiverse collapses — especially those...

Thor 5: After Taika Waititi’s Exit, Chris Hemsworth Wants This Director to Work With (MCU Rumor)
Image
Thor 5 is the MCU’s next best bet after maintaining a winning streak in 2025. Although it is still unclear which developmental stage the movie is in currently, fans of Chris Hemsworth are hyped for the movie all the same.

Not only because it would mark a milestone with the fifth solo movie of the Asgardian Avenger, but also it might finally revive Thor’s storyline after the messy debacle of Thor: Love and Thunder. Interestingly, though, it seems like there might be a few big changes before Thor 5 can make any significant progress.

The biggest one, which has already been public for a long while, is, of course, that Marvel veteran Taika Waititi will not be returning to direct the upcoming movie. However, it might not be too long before we find out who will be helming Thor 5, as sources suggest that Chris Hemsworth already has someone in mind.

Industry Insider Reveals What’s in Store for Thor Following ‘Secret Wars’
Image
Chris Hemsworth has been portraying Thor for over 14 years now. His most recent solo movie, Love and Thunder, received less-than-ideal reviews from both fans and critics. Despite ongoing rumors about Hemsworth retiring from the role, the actor previously stated that he wants to continue playing Thor, and he’s stayed true to his word by joining the cast of Avengers: Doomsday.

For months, insiders have been buzzing that Thor 5 is in development. In fact, some rumors, dating back over a year, suggest that the next installment will feature a completely different tone compared to Love and Thunder.

Now, industry insider MyTimeToShineHello recently revealed what may lie in Thor’s future in the next several years.

According to Mttsh, initially, it was rumored that Avengers: Secret Wars would mark the end of Thor’s journey in the MCU. However, a new source has revealed that this won’t be the case,...

Rumor: Chris Hemsworth's Thor 5 Will Abandon One Franchise Mainstay
Image
According to a new rumor, Thor 5 is coming and will do so without one franchise mainstay. No official word on a fifth Thor film has been made public yet; however, teases are out there. The God of Thunder himself, Chris Hemsworth, has already proven that he is ready for more, signing on to appear in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and sharing that he would do it (as long as he doesn't have to get as big as he has for past Thor movies).

Recent reporting suggested Thor 5 is already in the works; however, it is moving ahead without franchise director Taika Waititi. Waitit jumped onto the Thor train with Thor: Ragnarok, giving the Asgardian MCU sub-franchise a new voice when it needed it most. His future with the series has been questioned following the lackluster reception to 2022's Thor: Love and Thunder, and the McU's plans for the God of Thunder are unclear looking forward.
