Biography

Lori Silverbush is an award-winning screenwriter and director of fiction and non-fiction films whose work has appeared nationally and internationally in theaters, online and on television. Her work has premiered at the Sundance, Toronto, Berlin and Tribeca Film Festivals.

Silverbush's first fiction feature, On The Outs, had its world premiere at the 2004 Toronto International Film Festival and was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards.

Silverbush was named as one of Filmmaker Magazine's 25 New Faces of Independent film in 2005

Silverbush's first documentary, A Place at the Table, premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and was released by Magnolia Pictures in March of 2013. It received the International Documentary Association's Pare Lorentz Award for exemplary filmmaking focused on critical social issues.

Silverbush received her Master's Degree from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and is a graduate of the American Film Institute's Directing Workshop for Women. She is a member of the Director's Guild of America, the Writer's Guild of America, East, and is represented by the Gersh Agency.
