Kirk Cousins Spends Much of ‘Quarterback’ Season 2 Wanting to Be Recognized
Image
Let me preface this story by saying that, in any measurable way, Kirk Cousins is a better man than me. He’s bright, tough and a fine quarterback. Cousins is a Christian; he’s charitable, lovely and humble — well, there may be one exception to that final attribute.

Cousins spends much of Netflix docuseries Quarterback season two seemingly wanting to be recognized in Atlanta, his new NFL city but one close to his heart. Cousins and his wife Julie Hampton were married in Atlanta in 2014; their son Turner is named after Ted Turner, and the family is settled in the suburbs of Atlanta. The home to the Falcons is more than just an adopted NFL hometown for them — it’s a real hometown.

Cousins’ 2024 NFL season had more downs than it had ups, with Kirk going from Falcons starter to Michael Penix Jr.’s backup. It’s all chronicled in Quarterback,...

‘Quarterback’ Season 2 Trailer: Jared Goff Zings “Retired” Tom Brady; Joe Burrow Robbery & Kirk Cousins Benching Addressed
Image
Netflix dropped the trailer for Quarterback Season 2, which features NFL stars Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals), Jared Goff (Detroit Lions), and Kirk Cousins (Atlanta Falcons).

The NFL docuseries will start streaming on July 8 and give football fans unprecedented access to three quarterbacks during the 2024-25 NFL season.

“You only have so many of these seasons,” Burrow says in the trailer. “You start out your career and you [say], ‘Ok, I’m going to be playing for 15-20 years.’ It seems like a lot, and then you blink your eye and you’re in year 5. Next time I blink my eye, it’s going to be year 10. Now we’re wrapped. The great ones make it work.”

The Bengals ended the 2024-2025 season 9-8 and in fourth place in the AFC North.

Goff of the Detroit Lions took his team to the playoffs and swept their division with a franchise record of 15-...

Netflix Reveals Signal Callers For Season 2 Of Peyton Manning’s ‘Quarterback’ Docuseries
Image
Netflix has lined up a stellar trio of quarterbacks for the second season of its eponymous NFL docuseries.

The streamer is launching the second season of the series in July and has signed up Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow and Detroit Lions’ Jared Goff alongside Kirk Cousins, who is returning after being featured in Season 1.

Cousins, who is now on the Atlanta Falcons, was arguably the breakout of Season 1, which aired in 2023, earning the praise of fans for his relatability, his relationships with his teammates and family and his shopping habits. In that first season, he was joined by Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and Marcus Mariota, who played for the Falcons at the time.

The second season of Quarterback, which was filmed across the 2024-25 NFL season, will see him go 7-7 for the Falcons, which signed him to a four-year $180M contract, but he soon lost his starting role to Michael Penix Jr.,...

NFL Draft: USC’s Caleb Williams Is No. 1 Overall, As Quarterbacks Selected 1-2-3
Image
The annual NFL Draft usually spawns weeks of rumors, speculation, and mock drafts that move players up and down. But all of that is just guesswork, and at this year’s first-round parsing of the college ranks in Detroit, the chalk held up for the first four picks.

USC’s quarterback Caleb Williams went No. 1 to the Chicago Bears on Thursday night, a move that has been expected for months. There was a bit of intrigue surrounding who might go 2-3 in the draft, but the Washington Commanders went with the safe pick in Lsu Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels at No. 2, and the New England Patriots followed with North Carolina’s Drake Maye at No. 3.

This was the fourth draft with quarterbacks going with the top three picks. It previously happened in 1971, 1999 and 2021.

Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. went to the Arizona Cardinals at No. 4, another expected pick.
