Heather Hawthorn Doyle has made a name for herself as being a strong story-based director who brings her passion for creating beautiful visuals and grounded performances to every project.
Heather got her start in narrative television by directing the multi-camera sitcom "Some Assembly Required" in Vancouver, then when she was chosen for the Women in View 2xMore Program she started directing the Toronto based kids series "Dino Dana" and went on to direct multiple episodes of that series, as well as "Odd Squad" and "Endlings". Back in Vancouver Heather directed her first feature length television movie in 2019, "Eat, Drink and Be Married" starring Jocelyn Hudon "Chicago Fire" and Jake Foy "Ride". The success of that movie meant she was immediately asked to helm another and has gone on to direct almost twenty feature length films including two "Make Me a Match" and "The More Love Grows" which garnered Heather Canadian Screen Award nominations for Best Director in 2024.
Heather has also directed shorts including the micro short "I Don't Want Him Either" filmed exclusively in a volume studio which won multiple awards and the heartbreaking original film "Songbird" which won the 2020 People's Choice Award for favourite short at the Vancouver Asian Film Festival.
Heather began her successful directing career in factual/lifestyle/documentary and multi-camera talk/variety shows having directed on many popular formats for HGTV, W Network and CBC including more than 300 episodes of CTV's multi-camera daily talk/variety show "Gabereau Live" and HGTV's "Love it or List it Vancouver" and "Love It or List It Vacation Homes" which gave Heather her first directing nomination at the Canadian Screen Award in 2017.
