Biography

Dan was born in Clovis, Calfornia, but moved to New Jersey at 8 weeks. He lived there ten years and moved to Kansas City MO in 1957. He moved to San Antonio TX in 1963 graduating from Jefferson H.S. in 1964. He attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville (later re-named A&M) graduating with a B.A. in Math in 1968. He earned a B.A. in History in 1969 and a M.A. in History in 1973 with his thesis on the folk-rock singer, Shawn Phillips. He taught one year in San Antonio at Brackenridge H.S. and seven at Jeff Davis Middle School. In 1976 he moved to Austin TX. After working two years at various clerical positions at UT Austin he taught two years at Dobie Middle School and in 1980 transferred to Lamar Middle School where he currently teaches computer and math. In 2000 he started AustinFilmCasting, adding three other Texas casting lists which as of late 2001 served 3400 members. He also runs casting lists in Chicago, Calif, and LA.
