Sammy Hagar is set to kick off a Las Vegas residency in April, and going forward residencies and one-off shows might be the only way to see the Red Rocker.
In a new interview, the 77-year-old Hagar revealed that he doesn’t want to tour anymore, and has even told his manager to not book any extended outings. However, it appears Hagar would do more residencies if he enjoys playing in Vegas.

Billy Joel spent New Year’s Eve in front of a capacity crowd at Ubs Arena in Elmont, New York, where he played an extended set that mixed big hits with lesser-known tunes from his catalog. Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening was the opening act, and Bonham himself came out halfway through Joel’s set to lead his band through “Whole Lotta Love.”
“We’re going to bring a guest onstage and do this next song,” Joel told the audience. “We have fun playing this, especially with this guy.

Jason Bonham has opened up about his ouster from Sammy Hagar‘s “Best of All Worlds” band in a new interview.
As previously reported, Bonham was recently permanently replaced in Hagar’s live band by Kenny Aronoff. The lineup change came after Aronoff filled in for Bonham on the last four dates of Hagar’s summer tour, when the son of late Led Zeppelin legend John Bonham had to drop off to be with his ailing mother.

Bonham initially broke the news of his permanent replacement to fans on social media who had inquired whether he would be rejoining Hagar for future dates. Now the drummer has shared more details about the split — which came as a surprise to Bonham, who had toured and recorded three studio albums with the Red Rocker since 2015.

Guy Fieri and Sammy Hagar’s joint tequila business suffered a huge setback after two trucks carrying about $1 million worth of their Santo Tequila were hijacked in a double heist in Texas during the weekend of November 9th.
According to a representative of Hagar, via Fox News, the trucks were hijacked over the weekend in Laredo, just after crossing the border into the United States. A total of 4,040 cases of tequila, including Santo blanco, reposado, and a special extra añejo — which took 39 months to make — were stolen.

This past summer, Sammy Hagar featured an all-star backing band of Joe Satriani (guitar), Michael Anthony (bass), and Jason Bonham (drums) as part of his “Best of All Worlds” tour focusing heavily on Van Halen material. As Alex Van Halen continues to promote his upcoming memoir, Brothers, the drummer’s apparent disdain for Sammy Hagar becomes more and more evident. In a new interview with Billboard, Alex suggests that Van Halen lost their “magic” after David Lee Roth left the band in 1985.
In a previous interview with Rolling Stone, Alex blamed Diamond Dave’s apparent refusal to pay tribute to Eddie Van Halen for putting the kibosh on a planned reunion tour honoring the late guitarist. That said, he holds the band’s initial years with Dlr in the highest regard.
“What happened after Dave left is not the same band,” Van Halen told Billboard. “I’m not saying it was better or worse or any of that. The fact is Ed and I did our best work whenever we played.”
He continued, “We always gave it our best shot. But the magic was in the first years,...

Van Halen was established back in 1973 and found itself being disbanded after nearly five decades of incredible musicmaking, but its rage among the rock fans is still as strong as ever. Over the years that it was still active, while the heavy metal band restored hard rock to the forefront of the music scene through its energetic live performances – especially through its late lead guitarist Eddie Van Halen – it was also met with quite a lot of changes.
For one, while it started with the Van Halen brothers, Eddie and Alex, the band went on to let rock singer David Lee Roth hop onto their rock-y journey as well, despite all the complications. But his tenure didn’t last long as, within less than a decade, Roth ended up leaving to embark on his own solo journey, with his empty spot being filled by Sammy Hagar. Alex Van Halen has given his first public interview since the death of his brother Eddie Van Halen, and the drummer revealed some shocking revelations regarding a proposed Van Halen reunion tour that never came to fruition.
Alex spoke to Rolling Stone ahead of the release of his memoir Brothers on October 22nd, opening up about myriad topics, including the nixed reunion tour and the bizarre reason why the plans came to a halt.
Rumors of the tour that had circulated since Eddie’s passing were largely true. According to the Rolling Stone article, Roth and Alex had even begun rehearsing for the tour with members of Dlr’s solo band, with plans to fill out the lineup with former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and Joe Satriani on lead guitar, in Eddie’s place.

Wolfgang Van Halen: Net Worth, Age, Height & Everything You Need To Know About Eddie Van Halen's Son
With a name like Wolfgang Van Halen, the rock star needs little introduction, but the bassist's net worth is still an interesting figure that shows just how much the top musicians can make. Van Halen, alongside Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, Kiss, Queen, and AC/DC, was one of the key bands who helped return hard rock to the mainstream music scene after the genre slowly gestated in the 1960s with bands like Led Zeppelin, the Who, and the Rolling Stones dabbling in it. Formed in 1973, the band featured Eddie Van Halen, his brother Alex Van Halen, David Lee Roth, and Michael Anthony.
Van Halen songs have frequently appeared in movies, and the band remains an important part of pop culture. Wolfgang Van Halen, Eddy's and actress Valerie Bertinelli's son, joined the band in 2007 as a bassist and played until the band retired in 2020 after the death of his father. Sammy Hagar took time out of his concert on Friday night (August 2nd) to honor Aerosmith, who had just announced their retirement from touring only hours earlier. The Red Rocker praised singer Steven Tyler for knowing when to call it a day, while also declaring that “a lot of other motherf**kers should have did a long time ago,” perhaps a not-so-subtle dig at longtime nemesis David Lee Roth.
As reported, Aerosmith abruptly retired from touring on Friday, citing Tyler’s vocal injury. The band had hoped to embark on their farewell tour this September after postponing it last year, but determined “that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible.”

Back in January, Diamond Dave posted a video to his YouTube channel that essentially served as a long voice-over monologue insulting Wolfgang. The clip started with Roth suggesting that the late Eddie Van Halen’s son benefitted from nepotism, and then went on to accuse the young musician of trying to throw Roth’s guests out of Van Halen shows. Throughout the entire rant, Roth continuously referred to Wolfgang as “this fuckin’ kid.”
In a new interview with the radio show The Morning X With Barnes & Leslie (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), Wolfgang was asked why he thinks Roth would spew such “vile” venom toward him. He responded, “I guess I’m honored he even thinks about me as much as he seems to.

A memoir by Alex Van Halen titled Brothers is set for an October 22nd release via HarperCollins.
The 384-page hardcover autobiography comes as a surprise given how private Alex has been since the passing of his brother Eddie Van Halen in 2020. HarperCollins will also be publishing a 720-minute audiobook and an ebook edition in addition to the physical hardback. Pre-orders are now ongoing.
Although limited details are currently available, HarperCollins’ preview revealed the working title for the book, “The Brothers Van Halen.” We can surmise that the book will follow Alex and Eddie’s ascent to rock stardom as the drummer and guitar wizard of Van Halen, respectively.
Famously, the two almost had reversed roles, as they would swap instruments as kids before Eddie stuck to guitar for good. The seeds of Van Halen were planted when the brothers’ formed their early band Mammoth in 1972 prior to teaming up with...

Van Halen ended as a band with the 2020 passing of guitarist Eddie Van Halen, but tensions between the surviving members appear to be very much alive.
Singer David Lee Roth launched a broadside on YouTube Wednesday (Jan. 24) against Eddie’s son, Wolfgang Van Halen, who played bass with the band from 2007 to 2015 and is currently finding success with his own band, Wolfgang Wvh. In his video, Roth repeatedly calls Wolfgang “this fuckin’ kid,” as well as a “schlemiel” (“fool” in Yiddish), mocks him for benefiting from nepotism, and gripes about...

The long-running feud between Van Halen frontmen continues on with David Lee Roth now declaring that “Sammy Hagar was abducted by aliens and he was sex probed.”
Diamond Dave delivered the verbal assault on the Red Rocker in a new video dubbed “The Ballad of Popsicle Sam,” in which we hear Dlr’s voice over a 25-minute slideshow of new black & white photos of himself.
To backtrack, Hagar claimed in 2011 that he was once abducted by aliens, telling MTV at the time, “Aliens were plugged into me. It was a download situation. This was long before computers or any kind of wireless. There weren’t even wireless telephones. Looking back now, it was like, ‘Fuck, they downloaded something into me!’ Or they uploaded something from my brain, like an experiment. ‘See what this guy knows.’”

David Lee Roth has shared a newly recorded version of Van Halen’s monster hit “Jump.” The singer laid down the track during a 2022 session that has also yielded new renditions of other Van Halen classics.
The recording took place on May 3rd, 2022, at the Henson Recording Studio in Hollywood, California. The track features Al Estrada (guitar), Ryan Wheeler (bass), and Francis Valentino (drums).
Previous songs that have come out of that session include “Unchained,” “Everybody Wants Some!!,” “You Really Got Me,” “Dance the Night Away,” “Panama,” and “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love.”
It’s unclear why Diamond Dave chose to record new versions of these Van Halen classics. Perhaps he set out to prove that his voice was still in good shape, after receiving criticism about his live performances in recent years.
Earlier this year, fellow former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar declared, “[Roth] doesn’t care about singing.

When it comes to the relationship between David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar, the usual question is “Why can’t this be love?” However, it looks like there may be a truce among the long-feuding Van Halen frontmen, as Diamond Dave has seemingly accepted the Red Rocker’s invite to join him onstage.
Hagar recently announced the 2024 “Best of All Worlds Tour” (tickets available here), featuring an all-star backing band of Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, and Jason Bonham. The summer outing will see Hagar and company focusing largely on Van Halen material.
Following the tour announcement, Hagar told Howard Stern, “We’re gonna invite every musician in every town. … Other guitar players, we’ll get them involved; other singers, get ’em involved. If Alex Van Halen wants to jump out — if David Lee Roth wants to come out and join us, come on motherf**ker, you are welcome. This is about Van Halen.

On Tuesday, Sammy Hagar announced the 2024 “Best of All Worlds Tour” — a nod to Van Halen’s 2004 “Best of Both Worlds Tour” that featured both Hagar and David Lee Roth.
The Red Rocker will be performing Van Halen material on the trek, and now he’s extended open invitations to both David Lee Roth and Alex Van Halen to join him onstage at some point along the way.
Hagar appeared on The Howard Stern Show alongside his all-star touring band featuring longtime Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, guitar wizard Joe Satriani, and drummer Jason Bonham. It was during the interview with Stern that Hagar extended the invites, emphasizing that the tour was a celebration of not only his era of the band, but Dlr’s, as well.

Former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony was an eyewitness to the violent winds that brought the Maui wildfires through the now-decimated town of Lahaina.
Anthony was vacationing with his wife in nearby Kaanapali when the wildfires began to sweep across the western portion Hawaiian island. The bassist shared a video they shot while driving through the streets of Lahaina mere hours before it was engulfed in flames.
The footage is eerie, to say the least, as Anthony’s vehicle creeps through the old Maui town. It captures the soon-to-be-destroyed businesses and residences still standing as palm trees bend and sway in the high winds, which start to rip shingles off rooftops. Along with the clip, he posted the following on Instagram on Friday (August 11th):
“So sad, and in disbelief about what is happening on Maui right now, especially in old town Lahaina! My wife Sue and I have...

The following contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1, Episode 6, "Doma Smo," which debuted Sunday, July 23 on AMC.
Dead City has mimicked some of the most common themes and tropes from The Walking Dead franchise, which were already unpopular among fans. Recycling these storylines was a poor way to introduce the next generation of Walking Dead shows. However, building on Negan and Maggie's arc as shaky allies and occasional enemies proved to be a great focal point for the franchise after the conclusion of the long-running original show.
Though Dead City was a risk for The Walking Dead franchise, it had several unique aspects that made it stand out as a revolutionary series for the growing zombie world. Still, reusing unpopular tropes from previous shows proved that the showrunners couldn't entirely break from the traditions of the zombie series. The show had many high points that moved the...

This The Walking Dead: Dead City review contains spoilers.
The Walking Dead: Dead City Episode 3
My initial comparison between The Walking Dead: Dead City and Escape from New York was, at first glance, only surface level. There are similarities, clearly, but I had no idea that The Croat (Zeljko Ivanek) was having gladiator fights in a non-union store-brand equivalent of the Octagon. Now it’s clear that Dead City is a riff on Escape from New York, and as far as things to pattern your show after, you could do worse than John Carpenter. He’s the master of genre flicks, after all; for all the emphasis on human drama and soap opera emotions, The Walking Dead universe is a survival horror universe at its very core, and touches like this show a willingness to embrace that.
Of course, you have to have something in between all the special effects and action sequences.

Negan is back. Following the end of The Walking Dead last year, the Walker universe continues to expand with new series centering on some of the most popular characters from his original show, including Negan and Maggie, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan.
The duo meets again in Dead City, the first spinoff since the series finale. This project will be joined by two others, one starring Norman Reedus' Daryl Dixon, and another that will mark the return of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira as Rick and Michonne, while fans also wait for the outcome of Fear the Walking Dead arriving later this year.
In Dead City, Maggie must unexpectedly ally with Negan, despite their complicated past, in order to win back her son from isolated zombie-infested Manhattan. Although of course, the walkers are not the only danger they will face.

Following the series debut of The Walking Dead: Dead City, lead star Lauren Cohan opened up about Maggie's violent and intense opening scene.
The first episode of Dead City, titled "Old Acquaintances," begins with a harrowing full shot of New York City’s devastated state during the post-apocalypse. The opening scene immediately sends Cohan's Maggie back into action after she encounters a group of walkers while surveying the city from afar. In a recent interview with EW, Cohan revealed that the sequence wasn't the originally intended opening of the spinoff. Cohan confirmed it was supposed to start with the bar scene, which featured Maggie hunting down Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan. They decided to change it better to set the series’ tone for the audience.

AMC's The Walking Dead universe has been expanding quickly in recent years.
With the conclusion of the main series in 2022 after 11 seasons, many fans desired to continue the journeys of their favorite characters.
There were many reservations when Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) were announced to be headlining The Walking Dead: Dead City.
Maggie and Negan's story ended bittersweetly as they both agreed to co-exist.
As a result, The Walking: Dead City's existence would probably kickstart one of the most polarizing alliances on TV.
Thankfully, The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1 delivers a compelling tale that ushers in an exciting next chapter for The Walking Dead franchise.
All six episodes were provided for critics, highlighting AMC's confidence that fans will connect with this next chapter.
The series picks up several years after The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 24, with Maggie on a quest to New York City to locate her son.

Following the end of The Walking Dead and soon-to-be the end of Fear the Walking Dead, the universe is heading into a new era. A trio of spinoffs featuring prominent characters from the flagship series are the most anticipated properties in the next couple of years. The Walking Dead: Dead City, with Maggie Rhee and Negan Smith front and center, is the series to predict if the franchise can make it post-twd finale.
Starring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the titular characters, the initial announcement of Dead City (originally titled Isle of the Dead) came as a surprise to many. The choice to pair the two most antagonistic characters was concerning, given their hostile relationship began when Negan killed Maggie's husband, Glenn, in the Season 7 premiere of the main series. Since then, the two have never seen eye-to-eye, but a mutual trust has grown between them. Now in Dead City,...

The Walking Dead: Dead City creator Eli Jorné has explained why New York City was chosen as setting for the upcoming Walking Dead spinoff.
For the first time, viewers will have the chance to explore post-apocalyptic Manhattan in The Walking Dead: Dead City, which is set to feature the most disgusting walkers in the franchise's history. Speaking with SFX Magazine, Jorné confirmed that New York City is the perfect "pressure cooker environment" to challenge strong characters like fan-favorites Maggie and Negan. "It's like the capital of the world, where you've got giant skyscrapers and iconic locations," he said. "But then it's an island, which really separates it from a lot of cities. When you think about a bunch of people stuck on that island as Walkers, you immediately can imagine the possibilities."

Are you ready to experience the apocalypse from New York City?
AMC went public with the official trailer on Thursday for the new spinoff, and it looks like a nice change of pace.
The teaser trailer that premiered earlier this month hinted at the fraught relationship between Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
Maggie is in New York on a mission to save her son, and it's sure to be a dramatic experience.
The trailer teases the people they'll encounter, and let's just say the new spinoff is making full use of the new setting.
"Dead City follows Maggie and Negan traveling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland," the logline teases.
"The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror."
The series also stars Gaius Charles as Perlie Armstrong,...
