Ari Groobman

Ari is an award-winning writer and director living in Los Angeles, CA. He loves to tell bittersweet stories blended with dark comedy and horror to highlight culturally diverse journeys surrounding mental health and identity. Ari focuses on detailed, character-driven narratives drawing from his eclectic cultural and vocational background.

Ari graduated as a Chemical and Biological Engineer and a Boettcher Scholar, but his love for storytelling led him to shift paths into film. Ari is also an accomplished public speaker, disability and mental health advocate, a published poet and scientist, and activist.
