Image
When RuPaul crowns his 17th “Drag Race” winner this Friday on MTV, Season 16 champion Nymphia Wind will be there (in full step-down eleganza) to pass along the crown and scepter — but that’s not the only thing she has to share.

Ahead of the Season 2 premiere of “RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! Untucked” on Wow Presents Plus on Wednesday, Nymphia spoke with TheWrap about the final days of her reign and what advice she has for her successor: either Jewels Sparkles, Lexi Love, Onya Nurve or Sam Star.

“Wear it with pride, obviously, and just have the most fun for your reigning year,” she shared. “Nothing’s going to last forever, so just really be in the moment and just enjoy every second of it and don’t take it for granted.”

“I feel like this last year was so unreal. I was flown everywhere every week, so there wasn...

Why This Drag Race Season's Girl Group Challenge Is the Best
Image
Girl Group challenge influenced by Covid pause was a standout moment in Drag Race UK S2. "UK, Hun?" surpassed expectations, topped charts, and boosted season's success. Unserious nature and silliness set "UK, Hun?" apart, contributing to its lasting impact.

RuPaul's Drag Race is not short of iconic main-stage challenges. From the Snatch Game to the Ball, these challenges help to formulate the identity of each season, often providing some of the most memorable moments. Despite the first of its kind appearing in the first ever season back in 2009, the Girl Groups only began to appear consistently after Season 14. However, they have appeared in all seasons of Drag Race UK, Down Under, and all but one season of All Stars, and remain one of the main challenges fans look forward to.

As each season produces a new group of songs for fans to enjoy, it only gets increasingly difficult to say definitively one is the best.

‘The Pit Stop’ for ‘Drag Race 16’ episode 14: Trixie and Mo Heart recap ‘Booked & Blessed’
Image
Each week on “The Pit Stop,” Trixie Mattel recaps the latest episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 alongside a guest host. Following Friday’s fourteenth episode, two time competitor and veteran “Pit Stop” guest Mo Heart rejoins Trixie for another chatty recap. Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.

In their conversation, Mo shares that they were in love with Xunami Muse this season and expected her to make the final four. Mo also knows Q personally and agrees with Trixie that her looks are “ridiculous” because “the boy can sew,” thinks Morphine Love Dion was sickening “from the moment she walked in,” and that the Sapphira Cristál “stumble” last episode gives the other girls a chance to win.

When it came to this episode, Mo likes the concept of the memoir challenge because it shows who is the good storyteller and sets...

Image
Each week on “The Pit Stop,” Trixie Mattel recaps the latest episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 alongside a guest host. Following Friday’s twelfth episode, season 2 winner of “Drag Race UK” Lawrence Chaney makes her recapping debut with no interest in giving “credit where it’s not due.” Watch the full episode above via the official RuPaul’s Drag Race channel on YouTube.

In their recap of the episode, Lawrence was happy to see Q reveal a “real human emotion moment” in how she felt some type away about Sapphira Cristál winning last week’s challenge. Both her and Trixie thought it was smart of her to not speak too much about her feelings though because she might have said something she regretted. For this week’s challenge, Lawrence thought it was a difficult one that requires them to be aesthetically on point while also funny when they host Michelle Visage...

You’d be starring alongside Diane Keaton, Boy George, Lulu …’” Chaney had become a bit of a celebrity on the drag circuit since winning RuPaul’s Drag Race UK in 2021, but it hadn’t gone to their head. “I thought, I know how the next email will go, ‘Great. Doctor Who Season 14 Casting Brilliantly Continues A New Rtd Trend
Image
The casting of RuPaul's Drag Race Queen of All Queens, Jinkx Monsoon in Doctor Who season 14 continues a recent trend in Rtd's second era as showrunner. Like Neil Patrick Harris before them, Jinkx Monsoon is also a Broadway star, having recently starred in Chicago, and their casting affirms that Doctor Who's new era is aiming big in terms of guest casting. RuPaul's Drag Race is a huge franchise, spawning 15 seasons, spinoff shows, and multiple international adaptations, including RuPaul's Drag Race UK, which has seen several Doctor Who fans compete, such as season 2 winner Lawrence Chaney.

It's been announced that Jinkx Monsoon will play a major role in Doctor Who, no doubt leading to inevitable speculation about which legacy character Jinkx will be reviving. However, the casting announcement is so much bigger than whether Jinkx Monsoon will be playing a regenerated Missy or a new incarnation of the Rani.

Image
Each episode of RuPaul's Drag Race is divided into segments during which the drag queens prepare for then perform in a minichallenge, a major challenge and a runway fashion show. And while all the spectacle happens on the Main Stage, the drama happens in the Werk Room.

The Werk Room is the set where contestants spend the first half of the show planning and preparing their garments and performances. Thus, it's where viewers get to see who the queens are out of drag and how they interact with one another. In other words, the Werk Room is where all the juiciest drama happens, so of course fans have made plenty of hilarious memes focusing on it.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 16 Review: Grand Finale
Shawn Morales in RuPaul's Drag Race (2009)
We have our winner! After nearly four months, America's Next Drag Superstar was crowned on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 16.

The battle was hard-fought between Gottmik, Symone, Rosé, and Kandy Muse in the Lip-Sync For The Crown.

In a crowning night filled with Britney Spears music, the queens worked the stage to deliver the results we've all been waiting for. Though, the outcome was all too predictable.

Symone winning RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 was a great decision because Symone dominated many of the challenges, burned up the runway with iconic looks, and left her mark in the competition. It's just a very expected decision based on the season's editing.

Right from the iconic lines on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 Episode 2, Symone had the game in the bag.

Sure, there were moments where she stumbled and landed in the bottom two, but there was no way Symone was going home.

‘Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK 2×10’ Review
Image
We have made it to the finale episode of Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK second season and what a season it has been! For the audience, this season of Drag Race has only been on the television for 10 weeks but for the queens on the show the competition lasted just under a year with a seven-month break where the world stood still, we saw Joe Black (the international cabaret sensation and fan favourite) get eliminated in the first episode; we saw Ginny walk out of the competition marking her self-elimination; we saw the birth of ‘Bing Bang Bong’ that did insanely well in the iTunes chart; and we saw a new lip-sync assassin. It has been one of the most unique seasons of any television shows which all the queens should feel proud of due to everything else around them falling apart. But now onto the actual episode…

We had a very interesting comedy challenge performed in front of an empty audience, with one of the queens jokes having to be bleeped-out due to their nan ringing up the BBC (it was A’whora); we had drama by the bucket full; Tayce told everyone about her love for beans on toast which led to her being given a PR package from the king of beans, Heinz, themselves (Heinz if your reading this I also love beans!) and Tayce gained the title of drag race assassin after her third time in the bottom, as she sent home her roommate A’whora. So yeah… last week episode was something and I was excited to see how everyone would deal with the fallout this week.

We are at the semi-final episode, which means that only four queens are remaining in the competition.

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ 2 episode 9 recap: Who survives the final acting challenge in ‘BeastEnders’ and advances to the grand finale?
Image
Last week on “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK” the top 5 queens had their toughest challenge yet — standing up in front of a live audience of blow up dolls to deliver laugh-out-loud comedy sets. After winning the week’s mini challenge, badgeless Ellie Diamond was given the opportunity to se the order for the night and strategically put everyone at a disadvantage. The move set Lawrence Chaney and A’Whora off their games, but only A’Whora succumbed to the pressure. She found herself lip syncing for her life against best friend Tayce who managed to win her third head-to-head, sending A’Whora packing and making herself an bonafide assassin.

RuPaul Charles is back again to host the second season of the UK series alongside her longtime friend and collaborator Michelle Visage. They’re joined on the panel by entertainment legends Alan Carr and Graham Norton, as well as a collection of guest judges throughout the season.

Fashion girl A’Whora was determined to Rudeem herself with a challenge win this time and that’s exactly what she did with a stunning hand-sewn blue supershero gown. Her Rumate Tayce didn’t fare so well, falling to the bottom 2 for the second time. But the stage is where Tayce feels most comfortable and so she handily defeated Sister Sister in the Lsfyl.

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ 2 episode 7 recap: The queens go from lockdown lazy to super-sheroism
Image
Last week on “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK” the top 7 queens unveiled their best celebrity impersonations in the iconic “Snatch Game” challenge. Three time challenge winner and comedy queen Lawrence Chaney showed her first signs of vulnerability and fell into the bottom two, but managed to outperform Tia Kofi in the lip sync. As the Baroness of Basic sashayed away, Bimini Bon-Boulash continued her rise, earning a first solo win and second overall.

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ 2 episode 6 recap: With three challenge wins is it already ‘game, set, Snatch’ for Lawrence Chaney?
Image
Last week on “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK” Ru let the queens have it with a real kick in the arse. Both Tia Kofi and Joe Black, the latter of which had freshly reentered the race by a vote of her peers, were taken to task for leaving too much to be desired in their runway presentations. As two members of the losing girl group in the singing challenge, they found themselves in the bottom and lip syncing to stay. In the end, Tia bested Joe and sent the first eliminated queen home for a second time.

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ 2 episode 5 recap: Surprises and twists await the queens after a 7 month hiatus in ‘The RuRuvision Song Contest’
Image
Last week on “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK” the competition was rocked by two surprising turns of events. First, Ginny Lemon BenDeLaCreme’d herself by refusing to lip sync against her friend Sister Sister, eliminating herself in a graceless prance off stage and shocking the other queens. Then, in the previews for this week, we learned that the competition was promptly shut down by the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions that began to roll out while filming was still underway. How did the girls react to the news and adapt to the abrupt change? Let’s find out!

‘Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK 2×04’ Review
Image
Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK is quickly becoming one of the most unpredictable shows in modern television. Last week we watched Astina sashay away despite having previously won a challenge (where most of the other girls have not) ;on top of two fan-favourites going home very early in the series. It’s impossible to guess who is going to go home each week, as all the drag this season is so high quality and they are all insanely talented queens, but this means every week is a gag! This week went above and beyond with ensuring there was drama by the bucketload… with minor fights breaking out between Lawrence & Ginny (in the first couple of minutes of the episode) and Veronica & A’whora towards the end. This week’s mini-challenge was a very unusual one I have to admit. The queens had to take part in “The great British...

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ 2 episode 4 recap: One queen awakens a new aspect of her personality while another is put to bed in ‘Morning Glory’
Image
Last week on “RuPaul’s Drag Race UK” the queens were pitted against their best friends in “Who wore it best” head-to-heads on the runway. Resident Baroness of Basic, Tia Kofi, lost her face off against Veronica Green while previous challenge winner Asttina Mandella came up short against Bimini Bon-Boulash. Asttina was ready to show off her strengths in a lip sync, but in a shocker was outperformed by Tia and eliminated. Funny girl Lawrence Chaney rebounded in the other direction, going from a low score the previous week to challenge winner.

‘Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK 2×03’ Review
Image
It seems like every Drag Race review I write starts with a moment of silence for the queen who went home the week before. It’s getting impossible to predict who is going home week by week as two of the heavy hitters, and my personal favourites, have gone home in the first two weeks – that being Joe Black and Cherry Valentine. I was sure that Cherry was going to go the whole way in the competition, so to see her leave was a gag! But alas, if you haven’t shown her love on social media then you really should as some of the looks she is turning in on Instagram are phenomenal – so she’s one to keep an eye on. Last weeks “Rats” challenge shone a light on many of the queens as performers not to sleep on, none more so that Veronica Green. The whole episode...

Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK 2×01′ Review
Image
Two seasons of Drag Race being released simultaneously? Aren’t we just some extremely lucky drag fans! Now there has been some debate online about how frequent these seasons have been coming out, with All-Stars 6 rumoured to come out later this year; which will mark three seasons of Drag Race in one year which many people find an over-saturation of the TV market but for me, as it stands, two seasons of Drag Race shown at the same time is filling the void!

After the success of the first season of Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK, it was only a matter of time before a second season was developed that showcased the fabulous queens from all across the UK! The opening episode paid homage to some of the most iconic moments from the previous season such as the infamous “a red wig and a silver dress… I don’t think!
