Netflix's new Western series American Primeval has quickly become one of the platform's biggest hits of the moment, holding the number one spot on the streamer for several days before being dethroned by another bloodbath, WWE Monday Night Raw. Written by The Revenant screenwriter Mark L. Smith and directed by Deepwater Horizon's Peter Berg, the series unflinchingly plunges viewers into the brutally violent world of the American West circa 1857, a time frequently mythologized and often toned down by Hollywood.
While many westerns offer a more sanitized view of 19th Century frontier life, others have been willing to go there before American Primeval hit the scene. One of the best examples from recent years can even be found on the same platform, just a click away after the final episode: 2015's Bone Tomahawk. Written and directed by S. Craig Zahler in his directorial debut, the film is more sparing...

It's been a quite a journey for Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) and the rest of the characters on Apple TV+'s Silo, but at long last we've arrived at the season finale. In last week's penultimate episode, "The Safeguard," we finally learned the real identity of Juliette's companion Solo (Steve Zahn). Meanwhile, the conflict in Silo 18 reached a boiling point, while new It shadow Lukas Kyle (Avi Nash) made a discovery deep in the bowels of the structure. What information did Lukas get from his strange encounter? And will Juliette make it home in time to stop the people she loves from dying in a bloody rebellion?
Silo has built up questions all season, and here at the finish line we finally get some answers...as well even more questions. As always, there will be Spoilers beyond this point.

Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) has always been a lone wolf. The character is focused on helping others, especially those who work under him in Iu. Chicago Pd has always made it clear that he considers his officers to be members of his family.
This has been Voight's M.O. for 11 seasons. Something has changed. Or rather, something is on the cusp of changing. Assistant District Attorney Nina Chapman (Sara Bues) confessed to having some romantic feelings for Voight. And truth be told, the lieutenant doesn't know how to feel.
To be fair to Voight, Chapman shared her feelings and then informed him that she would be out of town. He didn't have time to respond. We've been patiently waiting for her return, so we can delve into the feelings of both characters and gauge whether a romance is in the cards. Fortunately, we will not have to wait long for Chapman's return.

There’s no way that Deputy Chief Reid (Shawn Hatosy) is up to anything good on Chicago P.D., right? He ostensibly seemed to be on Sergeant Voight’s (Jason Beghe) side, ready to let Intelligence operate as the unit has been, but then he started making some questionable moves. And after his last conversation with Voight, in which he made clear he knows stuff about the unit that he could easily use against them since he’s not going to Internal Affairs, well, he has to have plans. Below, showrunner Gwen Sigan teases what’s going on with him, what to expect from Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Ruzek’s (Patrick John Flueger) wedding, and more ahead of the January 8 midseason return. You left off with that conversation between Voight and Reid, and I keep becoming more and more suspicious of this deputy chief. What can you say about what...

Chicago P.D. longtime showrunner Gwen Sigan has opened up about what's to come for Dante Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) in the second half of season 12. The long-running NBC police drama, part of Dick Wolf's One Chicago franchise, follows the Intelligence Unit of the 21st District as they take on Chicago's most dangerous criminals, led by the tough Sergeant Voight (Jason Beghe). Joining the unit in season 9, Torres is a street-smart officer whose quiet demeanor hides a haunting past.
In an interview with ScreenRant, Sigan reveals how the aftermath of Gloria’s death will shape Torres’ journey in the future. During the young officer's undercover mission to infiltrate drug lord Rafael Perez's gang in Chicago P.D. season 11, he recruited Rafael's wife, Gloria, as a confidential informant. Their relationship quickly turned intimate, jeopardizing both the operation and Torres' career. The Chicago P.D. midseason finale delivered a...

Chicago Pd had the least going on in terms of a fall finale cliffhanger, but that's not to say there weren't seeds being planted for the future. While the main story arc of the episode, involving Dante Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar), was resolved, the ramifications it had on the Iu were not.
In fact, the final moments of the fall finale suggested that there was going to be trouble for the Iu moving forward. And the man who seemingly spelled this trouble out for Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) will be returning for the winter premiere on Wednesday, January 8.

The Chicago P.D. cast features several new people during Season 12.
Deputy Chief Reid is one of the new characters and is Hank Voight’s new boss.
Voight (played by Jason Beghe) has had many bosses over the 12 seasons of Chicago P.D.; some were out to get Voight, and others wanted to help Intelligence prosper.
There has been some mystery about how much support Voight would receive from each new boss, but he typically gets a long leash with his team.
So, is Reid a friend or foe? There is evidence to convince Chicago P.D. fans of both scenarios thus far.
While Reid keeps offering help and says he wants the Intelligence team to succeed, subtle statements and how much information he has might tease he is about to turn on Voight and his team.

"Stranger Things" isn't the only show keeping the fervent spirit of the '80s alive, because "The Goldbergs" acts as a giant love letter to the decade that birthed such national treasures as "ThunderCats" and "Garbage Pail Kids." Loosely based on showrunner Adam F. Goldberg's own life, the sitcom follows his family's adventures (and misadventures) in everyday scenarios that unfolded across 10 seasons between 2013 and 2023. "The Goldbergs" cast features more than a handful of recognizable names, such as Jeff Garlin and Stephen Tobolowsky, not to mention Patton Oswalt using his recognizable voice, but it's sometimes difficult to pinpoint exactly where we have seen these actors before.
Don't stress, though, since that's why we're here -- to figure out the notable shows and films where you might have seen the cast of "The Goldbergs" before. Now, that doesn't mean their entire filmographies will be covered from top to bottom, because some...

The Western is one of the oldest and most important genres of American film ever, tracing its roots back to the earliest days of Hollywood and kick-starting the careers of legendary filmmakers and actors like John Ford, John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. But like many genres, Western films often exaggerate elements of real history in order to create more compelling stories.
Some of the best-received and reviewed Western films of all time have come under scrutiny for lacking accuracy or mischaracterizing the reality of life in the American West. Even though these movies might act as excellent pieces of fiction, their depiction of history leaves much to be desired.

Denzel Washington is by far one of the greatest actors of our generation, but even the best have some duds. The Little Things, released in theaters and on streaming in 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic, is a star-studded thriller that failed to enrapture audiences in its serial killer mystery. Featuring some head-scratching performances and a far too self-serious story, despite being so audacious, not even Washington could save The Little Things from becoming a forgotten part of the actor's recent filmography. Well, audiences can find that out for themselves before it leaves Netflix by the end of November.

Netflix's full slate of holiday films in 2024 includes Hot Frosty, which premiered on November 13 and has quickly become a hit for the streaming service. While it contains all the light-hearted, cheesy, and romantic elements of any typical Netflix Christmas movie, it also features one continuous trend that almost every holiday film on the platform has. In fact, Hot Frosty includes two separate instances where this amusing tradition occurs.
The cast of Hot Frosty includes Lacey Chabert as Kathy and Dustin Milligan as Jack, the two central love interests. In the Christmas fantasy rom-com (which debuted to 100% on Rotten Tomatoes), Kathy owns a diner in the small town of Hope Springs. Singer/songwriter Lady Gaga didn’t have anything to do with the first season of the hit Netflix Addams Family series Wednesday, but when video clips of Jenna Ortega’s “Goo Goo Muck” dance scene went viral, many fans replaced The Cramps’ song “Goo Goo Muck” with a sped-up version of Lady Gaga’s song “Bloody Mary.” So Wednesday and Lady Gaga have been connected for a while now – and that connection is going to be deepened with the now-in-production season 2, as Deadline reports that Lady Gaga has been added to the cast of the show! Details on the character she’ll be playing have not been revealed.

Shaking up holiday traditions in irreverently welcome ways, director Jerry Ciccoritti and writer Russell Hainline’s “Hot Frosty” redesigns the look and feel of the familiar snow-made showcase. Their story, centered on a wishful widow who magically transforms a snowman into a hunky rube, balances its sillier aspects with a touching sense of sincerity. They do away with the cartoonish character’s corncob pipe, coal eyes and rotund body, replacing these features with beefy biceps, chiseled bone structure and sculpted abs. The narrative delivers some refreshing highlights for the benefit of Netflix’s Holiday Cinematic Universe, specifically acknowledging its target audience’s yearning for a sprinkling of cheeky, wanton lust alongside its gentle yet genuine dramatics.
To set the tone, the camera pivots in its opening descent upon the picturesque town of Hope Springs, from a quaint two-story decked out in festive decor to an undecorated neighboring house where Kathy (Lacey Chabert) dwells.

A wonderfully unusual addition to Netflix’s holiday lineup is “Hot Frosty,” the streaming service’s newest holiday movie. The movie was directed by Jerry Ciccoritti and written by Russell Hainline. Lacey Chabert plays Kathy, a café owner in the cute town of Hope Springs who has lost her husband. Dustin Milligan plays Jack, a magically animated snowman who turns into a surprisingly complicated love lead.
The movie cleverly breaks the rules of typical holiday movies by starting with a plot that is both silly and touching. Jack comes to life when Kathy wraps a magical red scarf around a snow sculpture. Jack is a muscular, innocent figure who could be Kathy’s love interest and serves as a metaphor for grief and renewal.

While presenting a gripping time travel drama, Netflix's Time Cut also features memorable performances from its talented cast members. Directed by Hannah MacPherson, Time Cut riffs on many familiar tropes of the slasher and time travel genre to walk viewers through a compelling tale of grief, revenge, and the ripple effect of one's actions. However, even though it does not cover new ground in the genre, it manages to instill nostalgia in viewers through its portrayal of the mid-aughts.
Apart from being nostalgic, Time Cut also features some edge-of-the-seat action and white-knuckling serial killer scenes that are enough to keep viewers hooked throughout its runtime. What makes its drama and action even more enthralling is the commendable performances of its cast members. Since Time Cut's cast plays a crucial role in making its time travel twists and turns more impactful, viewers may be curious about who plays whom...

It's been nearly a decade and a half since the TV phenomenon known as Lost came to its conclusion, and even though not all the show's cast members have managed to maintain that same level of brightness in the spotlight that the show had once allowed them, some have gotten extremely lucky. When fans think of the show's most successful cast members, names like Evangeline Lily and Daniel Dae Kim are sure to come to mind. However, even though Matthew Fox has taken an extended hiatus from acting, it's impossible to deny that he, too, has certainly had one of the most successful post-series finale careers. While his acquired film credits are small, they've been pretty impressive, from We Are Marshall to Speed Racer. It's Bone Tomahawk (the last major film he appeared in), however, that has become arguably his most popular one.

Andrew Garfield has come to the defence of Mel Gibson and insisted the director “deserves to make films” following his anti-Semitic scandal in 2006.The 41-year-old actor - who is Jewish - worked with the Gibson, 68, on 2016 World War II drama ‘Hacksaw Ridge’, and he doesn't agree that the 'Mad Max' star Gibson should continue to be shunned in Hollywood as he has learned from his past mistakes and is a "real empathetic guy”.During an interview with People, Garfield said: “He’s done a lot of beautiful healing with himself. And thank God. Because he’s an amazing filmmaker, and I think he deserves to make films. “He deserves to tell stories, because he has a very, very big, compassionate heart. Mike Ehrmantraut is, without a doubt, one of Breaking Bad's most beloved dark horses. The Albuquerque criminal underworld's resident fixer and assassin caught audiences' attention the moment he showed up in Season 2's finale and never left their minds ever since. Best of all, Mike introduced the world to actor Jonathan Banks. Although Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul turned him into a household name in the last two decades or so, Banks has been in the acting business longer than anyone realized.
Case in point, Banks has been acting for so long that he had a minor role in 1984's Gremlins. In Joe Dante's beloved fusion of a whimsical Christmas movie and the horror genre, Banks took on the role of Deputy Brent Frye. While Mike's current fans or even the most dedicated Gremlins admirers may not remember who Deputy Frye was, this minor role spoke to...

It seems Voight is going to have a new boss to report to when Chicago Pd returns for its new season this fall.
TV Insider is reporting Animal Kingdom alum Shawn Hatosy has joined the cast of NBC’s hit crime drama in the recurring role of Deputy Chief Charlie Reid. Hatosy is set to make his debut in the season 12 premiere and it appears that his character is going to play a key role in Voight’s storyline this season.
“I think he sees a lot of himself in Voight and identifies quite a bit with Voight and Voight’s philosophy as a police officer, and they have a really interesting relationship that will evolve as the season goes on,” executive producer Gwen Sigan teased of the character.
Going off the tease from Sigan, it seems like Deputy Chief Reid might prove to be a new ally to Voight...

He took to X and tweeted, “As a parent am absolutely disgusted, pained and raging with anger!! Two 4 year old girls were sexually assaulted by the male cleaning staff member of the school. In producing Scott Cooper’s upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic, “Deliver Me from Nowhere” starring Jeremy Allen-White, producer Ellen Goldsmith-Vein was met with a problem. Obviously the film would shoot mostly in Springsteen’s native New Jersey, but they also wanted to shoot some in Los Angeles. New Jersey though has dedicated up to $758 million to get movies to film in the state. California offers less than half that. Their options were limited, and their choice was clear.
“We shoot a very short period of time in Los Angeles largely because of the expense to shoot here,” Goldsmith-Vein told IndieWire. “We can’t get a tax credit in there. There’s just no incentives for us to do it. It makes it very difficult for filmmakers and so we are shooting in another state.”
