John Green(1927-2016)

IMDbProStarmeterSee rank
John Green
John Green was born in 1927 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Green attended the University of British Columbia and earned a Master's Degree in Journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. A newspaper reporter by trade, John first began investigating Bigfoot sightings in his native Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia in the 50s. Green frequently collaborated with fellow Bigfoot researcher Rene Dahinden. John has written about over 3,000 Sasquatch sightings. From 1968 to 1973 he wrote three short volumes centering on events pertaining to the Pacific Coast: "On the Track of the Sasquatch," "Year of the Sasquatch," and "The Sasquatch File." These three books have become standard references in the field. Moreover, Green's 1978 book "Sasquatch: The Apes Among Us" is widely considered to be a groundbreaking work which thoroughly focuses on information about Bigfoot from areas east of the Rocky Mountains. The Don Ameche character in "Harry and the Hendersons" was patterned after Green. He's also the first person to develop an extensive computerized database on Bigfoot sightings. John Green has appeared as himself in the documentaries "Bigfoot: Man or Beast?," "The Mysterious Monsters," and the delightfully quirky "Sasquatch Odyssey: The Hunt for Bigfoot."
