Ahsoka star Dave Tennant has made an unexpected Star Wars return in Young Jedi Adventures. The actor again voiced the fan-favorite Jedi droid, Professor Huyang.

Tennant's animated High Republic Era appearance occurs in the fourth episode of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures' second season. Nubs, exploring the ruins of a Jedi Temple with his fellow younglings and Master Yoda, discovers an ancient, broken lightsaber once wielded by a Pooba. Nubs accompanies Yoda to repair the weapon and store it in the Jedi Archives on Coruscant. The Jedi youngling meets Tennant's Professor Huyang, who repairs the lightsaber, recalling the great Jedi Master Barabo once owned the weapon. Huang's latest franchise appearance reaffirms the professor's unrivaled longevity in the established Star Wars timeline.

Professor Huyang, an ancient Jedi droid, returns in Young Jedi Adventures season 2 (voiced by David Tennant). Huyang repairs an ancient lightsaber for youngling Nubs during the High Republic Era, and he remembers its original construction. Huyang has been confirmed to be approximately 25,000 years old, and created by the First Jedi (making him the oldest known Star Wars character).

Following his live-action debut in 2023's Ahsoka, the Jedi droid Professor Huyang has just made a surprising and wholly unexpected Star Wars return in 2024. A droid far older than Jedi Master Yoda himself, Huyang has a greater ability to appear in more Star Wars projects than most characters in the galaxy far, far away. To that end, the ancient droid voiced by David Tennant has just made his latest animated appearance in the High Republic Era.

Lucasfilm has revealed the official trailer and key art for the second season of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures. The original animated series will return on Wednesday, August 14, on Disney+ and Disney Jr.

Set 200 years before The Phantom Menace, during the High Republic era, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures follows Jedi younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs as they study the ways of the Force, explore the galaxy, help citizens and creatures in need and learn valuable skills needed to become Jedi along the way.

Star Wars TV shows have dominated the franchise's success in recent years, with multiple releases set for after The Acolyte. Young Jedi Adventures season 2 will be released in August 2024, marking another animated show for the year. Lucasfilms original animated series, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures finally has a release date. The first season premiered in May last year.

The series will debut its second season on Disney+ and Disney Jr. on Wednesday, August 14. Fans can anticipate the second half of the season arriving in early 2025.
