Netflix’s teen romance-drama Xo, Kitty has slowly cropped up on the streaming’s top 10 with its mix of youthful energy, heartfelt relationships, and cultural exploration. Created by Jenny Han and sold as a spin-off of the very popular To All the Boys Series, Season 2 of Xo, Kitty dives even deeper into the life of Kitty Song Covey. This time, Kitty returns to the Korean Independent School of Seoul (Kiss) after her first year ended in chaos—complete with romantic betrayals, a cheating scandal, and an emotional breakup with her boyfriend, Dae. But it doesn’t end there. Season 2 introduces an even more complicated love triangle (or maybe pentagon?) as Kitty wrestles with her feelings for Yuri, deals with Min Ho’s confession, and navigates life under the shadow of her late mother’s history.
Xo, Kitty is essential about finding yourself, stumbling through adolescence, and chasing love, no matter how messy.

We can't believe the long-awaited second season of Xo, Kitty is finally streaming on Netflix! After last season's jaw-dropping cliffhanger, our favorite teen matchmaker is back at Kiss, prepared to tackle whatever drama comes her way. Though, for her sanity, let’s hope it’s a smooth sailing semester this time! Who are we kidding, though? With Kitty, chaos is practically guaranteed—and we’re here for every second of it! Q doesn't call her his chaos queen for nothing.
Unfortunately, the second season is two episodes shorter than the first. With each episode clocking in at 30 minutes or less, the season flies by. You hit play on the first episode, and before you know it, you’ve already reached the season 2 finale! Honestly, it seems like the episodes go by even quicker because the story is so engaging and packed with twists, leaving you wanting more after each one.

The Netflix series Heartstopper has been universally praised for its portrayal of LGBTQ+ youth and serious teen issues, including Charlie's disorders in season 3. Based on the graphic novels of the same name by Alice Oseman, the British series premiered in 2022, and though Heartstopper boasts a talented ensemble cast, it primarily revolves around the romantic relationship between schoolmates Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) and Charlie Spring (Joe Locke).
While Nick is bisexual, Charlie is gay and was publicly outed before the events of the show. One of Heartstopper's most likable characters, Charlie is defined by his kindness, empathy, and sensitivity. Unfortunately, his sensitivity and his sexual orientation make him the target of bullying. Though Charlie has grown to stand up for himself, this bullying is detrimental to his mental health, and his disorders are explored in full, thoughtful detail in Heartstopper season 3.

In less than a month, Heartstopper became a global phenomenon. Surviving the apocalypse isn’t just about stockpiling canned beans or dodging zombies — it takes grit, guts, and a whole lot of luck.
Unfortunately, these TV characters are running on empty in all three departments.
Whether it’s their diva demands, inability to adapt, or just plain bad luck, these lovable (and not-so-lovable) folks wouldn’t make it to sundown in a world gone mad.
( Photo: Sonja Flemming/CBS )
They’d either annoy their survival group, attract trouble with their over-the-top antics, or just plain trip over their own feet.
Sure, we love them in their respective shows, but let’s be real — they’d be the first ones voted off Apocalypse Island.
Let’s take a look at 15 TV characters who’d bring plenty of drama to the end of the world but not much else.

Heartstopper season 3 finally introduces viewers to Oliver Spring (Jensen Clayden), a key character from Alice Oseman's graphic novel series. Netflix's adaptation of the popular coming-of-age story gives Oliver a completely new role. Picking up from where Heartstopper season 2 ended, the third outing follows Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) as they take the next big steps in their relationship. While Charlie is eager to tell Nick "I love you" for the first time, Nick is preoccupied with figuring out how to address Charlie's eating disorder and depression in a supportive way.
The rest of Heartstopper season 3's cast of characters also has a lot going on. The hit Netflix teen drama “Heartstopper” released its third season this month. Based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novel series, the show follows the blossoming romance of Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson as high school students. Season three continues their story while tackling more mature themes.
The new season picks up where the last one ended, with Nick having come out as bisexual and their relationship now public. According to reviewers, this season delves deeper into both the joys and challenges of maintaining a young romance. It also explores heavier issues like mental illness, eating disorders, and the difficulties of long-distance relationships when facing university or treatment programs.
Oneexample noted bycritics is a beach scene where Charlie expresses his love for Nick, but their moment is interrupted by Nick’s concern over Charlie’s potential eating disorder. This encapsulates how the show addresses both the excitement of new love and serious personal struggles.

One of the primary characters in Heartstopper is Tori Spring, leading many to ask several questions about her character from the Netflix show and the comics on which it is based. Heartstopper's cast of characters is admittedly huge, focusing on several young adults as they navigate the worlds of education, careers, relationships, and sexuality. In the first few seasons of the Netflix show, Tori Spring was only a minor character, yet she became much more integral to the show by the time of Heartstopper season 3's ending.
This will surely mean Tori gets an even bigger role in the potential story of Heartstopper season 4; Initially, Tori is introduced as the older sister of the show's main character, Charlie Spring. However, given her early supporting role, little was revealed about her. That said, Heartstopper season 2's ending teased Charlie's story involving mental health, giving Tori much more agency in season...

Heartstopper season 3 finally redeems the show's biggest missteps by giving two of its best supporting characters the bookish Isaac Henderson (Tobie Donovan) and antisocial Tori Spring (Jenny Walser) the roles they really deserve. Even though Isaac is one of Charlie's (Joe Locke) best friends, and Tori is his supportive sister, both characters have been sidelined throughout the Netflix adaptation's first two seasons. Given the show's impressive ensemble, it's no surprise that the members of Heartstopper's cast of characters don't all get equal screen time. Still, a revamp of Isaac and Tori's stories (and characters) was long overdue.
Picking up where Heartstopper season 2's ending left off, the third outing of the coming-of-age romantic drama sees Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) both struggling to tell each other something important. Spoilers are ahead for Heartstopper season 3.
This article mentions difficult topics that are discussed in the show, including mental illness.
Despite being one of the most memorable parts of the Netflix adaptation's first outing, Olivia Colman didn't return for Heartstopper season 3. In the coming-of-age romantic drama's first two seasons, Colman plays Sarah Nelson, Nick Nelson's (Kit Connor) mother. Based on Alice Oseman's graphic novel series of the same name, Heartstopper centers on the budding romance between Nick and Charlie Spring (Joe Locke). Loving, supportive, and perceptive, Sarah has easily become one of the show's best parental figures, which made it all the more disappointing (and surprising) when Colman didn't join Heartstopper season 3's cast of characters.

Heartstopper Season 3 premieres on Oct. 3, welcoming fans back into the cozy embrace of Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) and Charlie Spring (Joe Locke). The last time we saw the couple, in the Season 2 finale, they were each on the precipice of saying those three special little words. But the first person we encounter at the start of Episode 1 is none other than Tori Spring (Jenny Walser), seen in the video above.
Creator and executive producer Alice Oseman knows it’s a bit of a “curveball” to begin the season with anyone but Charlie or Nick. But Heartstopper’s creative team was excited to introduce Tori as a main character in her own right — especially because she plays a key role in supporting her brother, Charlie, in Season 3. If there’s one lesson Heartstopper stars Kit Connor and Joe Locke want you to take away from their last scene in the Season 3 finale, it’s: “Practice safe sex,” they say together. “Take your time. There’s no rush,” Connor continues with a cheeky smile. It took them three whole seasons to do it, and they’re just fine.”
While the pair’s words might elicit a grin, it’s serious business as their characters — Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring — reach a new level of intimacy together. Although teenage lust is at play in the scene, it’s also the culmination of three seasons of feelings and growth for both of them.
Series creator Alice Oseman calls the Season 3 ending the “the conclusion” of Charlie’s intense eight-episode journey of self-discovery. In the season premiere, Charlie doesn’t feel comfortable taking his shirt off at the beach. But, by...

Heartstopper season 3 sports an ensemble cast, made up of faces both familiar and unfamiliar. After Heartstopper season 2's ending, it was expected that the cast would grow as the characters mature. This proved to be true by the time of Heartstopper season 3's ending, which aged up the tone of the show alongside its characters and introduced a host of new faces.
The returning cast members of the show kept the feel of the coming-of-age drama similar, as did Heartstopper's signature animated moments. These elements, combined with the continued needle drops of Heartstopper's great soundtrack, allowed the third season to pick up where its predecessor left off. However, Heartstopper season 3 still introduced its fair share of new storylines, as well as a host of new actors in important roles.

In a fiercely competitive streaming landscape where superhero franchises reign supreme, it is usually hard for other genres to beat Marvel films. However, it looks like the tables might be turning. Ever since Joe Locke’s Heartstopper took over the streaming giant in 2022, fans have been hooked on the heartwarming LGBTQ+ teen drama. Now with the third season having been released just earlier today, the series has proved to do better than the Disney+ series, Agatha All Along.

This third installment of the wholesome teen romance offers plenty of warmth and feels profoundly relatable in its exploration of heavy yet honest themes. Viewers first met the love story between Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson back in Season 1, which rapidly had us rooting for these adorable schoolmates.
Their chemistry shone so brightly that it was easy to get attached to their burgeoning feelings despite their initial uncertainty. Season 2 took us alongside the pair on vacation as they grew closer, though many storylines were left on a cliffhanger.
Now in Season 3 of the Netflix series adaptation of Alice Oseman’s graphic novels, we catch up with Charlie, Nick, and their endearing friends in the aftermath of senior prom, facing new challenges together. While Nick and Charlie remain elated in their relationship, cracks begin to show in Charlie’s mental well-being that threaten to spiral.

As we near the release of Heartstopper Season 3 on Thursday, October 3, fans are poring over the trailer and first-look images, creating romantic Charlie-Nick vids, and smattering social media with leaf emojis evoking the artwork from Alice Oseman’s graphic novel. It's finally time to go up, up, and away! That's right, over a year after its third season concluded, Superman and Lois returns to The CW for its fourth - and unfortunately final - season. The beloved DC TV series is the last remnant of the network's Arrowverse franchise, and fans will no doubt be ready to pay their respects to that legacy by tuning into the 10-episode finale season.
But October is something of a rarity as it will feature multiple superhero and comic book shows for us all to enjoy! Yes, Clark Kent and Lois Lane aren't alone in flying the DC flag, as another DC TV series will air the majority of its episodes this month. And they will also be joined by new episodes of a new Marvel favorite, another Walking Dead spinoff, and a beloved Netflix series based on an equally beloved comic book.

Heartstopper season 3 is one of the most powerful pieces of television you'll see all year.
That's not hyperbole. The Netflix series has always been powerful in its own Heartstopper kind of way, but this season it dials things up, taking a thoughtful look at mental health, intimacy, and the pressures that come with being a teenager. This result is incredibly moving.
Heartstopper has become a favorite for many in the two years since its debut, with its uplifting portrayal of young queer romances rightfully garnering it high praise and a devoted following. It's the change we need in the world, and it's just so earnest in everything that it does - so much so that words that are commonly used to describe it are joyous, lovely, and warm.
Some viewers, however, longed for it to tackle more mature elements of the teenage experience. Whether that is necessary to the Heartstopper experience is up for debate,...

Television's sweetest and most heartwarming show is back, and it's sweeter and more heartwarming than ever. Netflix's Heartstopper returns after over a year, bringing the delightfully saccharine relationship of Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) back to our screens. Based on Alice Oseman's best-selling graphic novel series, Heartstopper is among Netflix's best and most reliable originals, and the show is still the TV equivalent of a warm hug.

The Heartstopper stars recently opened up about filming their first sex scenes for the Netflix teen show’s upcoming Season 3, which debuts Oct. 3 on the streamer, as Locke noted that fans are “way hornier” for the big moment than they think.
“We did a lot of work with David Thackeray, our intimacy co-ordinator who’s been on it since season one, so we know him well and we’re very comfortable with him and he’s very good at his job,” Connor told PinkNews.
“He was instrumental in helping us feel super comfortable and also look and feel realistic on screen, that was important. It’s like a dance. We blocked it out and we shot for about seven hours, the sex scenes,” he explained. “It would be like, ‘Ok, spoon now,’ and ‘kiss’ and ‘our...

One of the oldest models for creating a new movie or series with a built-in audience is book adaptations, because there's usually a devoted fanbase that has been eager to see one of their favorite stories brought to life. Netflix has dedicated itself to this structure, with many of its largest projects in recent years coming from existing IP.
There are many different ways to do a book adaptation. Most people expect a strict replication, with as many plot points and details preserved as possible. However, some adaptations find success from changing weak spots of the original books or using different strategies based on the strengths of film versus page. Others, like The Vampire Diaries, keep very little the same beyond character names and genre conventions.
Regardless of how the adaptation is done, however, it can be useful to read the book(s) before watching, to see what changes have been made and evaluate accordingly.

There are times when you are just perfect for a job, and then there are times when you wing it so well that no one knows whether you have any idea what you are doing.
