Sony Pictures ha publicado el primer tráiler de la película Padre no hay más que uno 5, la última –sí, han escuchado bien– película de la exitosa saga familiar dirigida y protagonizada por Santiago Segura.

Mientras algunos padres sufren la angustia del “nido vacío”, Javier (Segura) vive justo lo contrario: el “nido repleto”.

Acompañan a Santiago Segura, una vez más, su mujer en la gran pantalla Toni Acosta y su (enorme) familia cinematográfica: Martina D’Antiochia, Calma Segura, Luna Fulgencio, Carlos G. Morollón, Sirena Segura y Blanca Ramírez. Sílvia Abril (Padre no Hay Más que Uno) has been cast to lead SkyShowtime drama series Mamen Mayo. She will play the title character act opposite fellow leads Pablo Capuz (Merlí. Sapere Aude), Mona Martínez (La Novia Gitana) and Clara Sans (Cardo). Abril’s character is billed as an “extremely intelligent inheritance mediator, who is at the pinnacle of her career.” She leads a team of mediators who in each episode attempt to resolve the conflicts of interest within families entangled in inheritance disputes. Barcelona-based production-distribution-sales outfit Filmax has taken on international sales on Spanish director Víctor García León’s new comedy “One Hell of a Holiday!”

Filmax is presenting the trailer to international buyers at this week’s Malaga Film Festival at Mafiz’s Spanish Screenings Content, a massive industry platform where Filmax is also talking up a raft of titles led by “Girl, Unknown” and “Co-Husbands.”

“One Hell of a Holiday!” is written by Manuel Burque and Josep Gatell (“Undercover Wedding Crashers”).This grandparents’ tale follows Manuela and José, two grandparents who love looking after their grandkids but have had enough of their children dumping their offspring on them every five minutes.

Indeed, Manuela and José can’t remember when they last had some free time. To top it all off, they’ve had to cancel their summer holiday, because their children have an important business trip and need them to look after the grandkids.

A producer on one of the highest-grossing of Spanish films in the last decade, Alex de la Iglesia’s “Perfect Strangers,” Madrid-based Nadie es Perfecto is ramping up production as it rebrands and, following the hire of ex-Netflix exec Juan Mayne, focuses on broadening its bridges with Mexico and Latin America.

In one move, Christopher Hool at Mexico’s Sdb Films has boarded two upcoming Nep titles, “La Navidad está en sus manos,” from Joaquín Mazón, and Kike Maillo’s”Locomía.”

Nep also adapted Mexican hit series “El Juego de la Llaves,” a property of Corazón Films, for Spain, producing with Warner Bros. and local broadcaster Atresmedia.

As a sign of its expanded ambitions, the company is now rebranding as Nadie es Perfecto+.

Spanish indie production shingle Nadie es Perfecto, producer of Alex de la Iglesia’s hit comedy “Perfectos Desconocidos,” has tapped former Netflix exec Juan Mayne to join the company as it revs up its slate with a slew of new projects.

Sony Pictures International Productions’ (Spip) comedy remake Father There Is Only One starring Santiago Segura has overtaken Spider-Man: Far From Home to become the studio’s biggest release of the year to date in Spain.

The film surpassed Spider-Man: Far From Home on €13.53m ($14.84m) to reach €13.57m ($15.08m) and ranks as Sony’s highest-grossing release in the territory since The Smurfs grossed €13.7m (unadjusted for inflation) in 2011.
