Kugimiya Rie is a Japanese seiyuu and singer. She is legendary having been a top seiyuu since just a few years after her debut for 2 decades. She began her career as a Seiyuu in 1998. In 2008, she won Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 2nd Seiyuu Awards alongside Saiga Mitsuki. In 2009, she won Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 3rd Seiyuu Awards. She is recently known for portraying Kotarou Satou in Kotaro Lives Alone , Happy in Edens Zero , and Aguri "Cure Ace" Madoka in the Pretty Cure anime franchise, but she is She is most known for being featured as Tsundere protagonists such as Taiga Aisaka in Toradora! (for which she won the Best Actress award at the Seiyuu Awards), Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière in The Familiar of Zero and Shana in Shakugan no Shana. Her versatility has allowed her to interpret other types of characters with equal mastery, including Happy in Fairy Tail, Ronnie Anne Santiago in the Japanese-dubbed Version of The Loud House, Nagi Sanzenin in Hayate the Combat Butler, Keenan Crier in Digimon Data Squad, Alphonse Elric and Catherine Elle Armstrong in Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, among many others.

On May 30, 2022 (her 43rd birthday), she opened a Twitter account. Her second tweet featured a photo with fellow seiyuu Imai Asami and Numakura Manami. She is also a member of the seiyuu idol unit "BRIGHT DIAMOND" related to "THE IDOLM@STER MILLION LIVE!" game franchise and a member of the seiyuu idol unit "765PRO ALLSTARS" which are both related to The "iDOLM@STER" mixed media project. She was a member of the seiyuu idol duo TeamAA with Sakura Ayane related to the anime Aria the Scarlet Ammo AA (2015). She was a member of the seiyuu idol duo BibleArt with Suwa Ayaka related to the anime Trinity Seven. She was a member of the seiyuu idol unit "Samurai Girls" related to the anime of the same name (2010). She was a member of the seiyuu idol unit "Atena" related to the anime Burn Up Scramble (2004).
