Showtime’s upcoming sequel series Dexter: Resurrection has confirmed that David Zayas is returning as Angel Batista, fixing one of the biggest complaints about the character’s appearance in the limited revival series New Blood. Three years after Dexter: New Blood’s divisive ending seemingly killed off the titular character and saw Harrison Morgan flee after shooting his father, Michael C. Hall’s Dexter Morgan is officially alive and back in Dexter: Resurrection. Showtime's prequel Dexter: Original Sin confirmed that Dexter was miraculously revived by doctors after being shot, meaning a major fallout is coming after he was exposed as the Bay Harbor Butcher.

According to Deadline, David Zayas, Jack Alcott, and James Remar have all signed on to appear in Resurrection, which will pick up where New Blood left off and Original Sin began – with Dexter being rushed to the hospital to be brought back to life after suffering a seemingly fatal gunshot wound at the hands of his son, Harrison. Zayas portrayed Detective Angel Batista in the original series, while Remar portrayed Dexter's father, Harry Morgan.

The next Dexter spinoff is filling in its ranks with familiar faces.

David Zayas, James Remar and Jack Alcott will all be joining Michael C. Hall in Dexter: Resurrection, the next spinoff in the Paramount+ with Showtime franchise that will be releasing this summer.

Dexter: Resurrection will star Michael C. Hall, who originated the titular serial killer character of Dexter Morgan in the iconic Showtime series.

Zayas played Detective Angel Batista, friend and coworker to Dexter, and James Remar played his deceased father Harry Morgan in the original series that ran for eight seasons and ended in 2013. Alcott then played Dexter’s son, Harrison Morgan, in the 2021 Dexter revival series, Dexter: New Blood.

The currently airing prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin, resurrected Hall as Dexter in the season opener. It was known that Hall would narrate Original Sin, but not until the series premiered in December did the Dexter audience understand how everything would connect.

Dexter: Original Sin episode 5, "F Is For F**k-Up" reveals that Dexter let loose in his younger days, which he never did in the original series. Taking to Instagram ahead of Dune: Part Two’s March 1st wide release, Brolin offered the following take on the highly anticipated sequel, rattling off a fever dream that plays off of the cast’s most famous characters and Zendaya’s eye-catching outfit from the movie’s premiere.

“Dune 2 release is less than Two Weeks!!! Robot Lady and Wonka fall in love. Then Elvis tries to fuck it all up while his bad dad floats in a pool of pond scum. The WWE dude from Gardians gets super pissed while Midsomer hottie puts the eyes on Wonka Obi Wan just after his Mom gets caught taking LSD in a sandy bathroom.

Dune: Part Two is set to reinforce Dave Bautista's bankability as a character actor who first impressed fans and director Denis Villeneuve in Blade Runner 2049.

Dave Bautista's career has gone a long way from his breakout role in Guardians of the Galaxy, which cast him as the brutish, battle-hardened warrior Drax who's ironically funny in his absolute lack of humor. Many WWE fans still saw him as the wrestler Batista in that role, but this all changed when he played the replicant Sapper Morton in Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049. His appearance in that film was brief but haunting, proving he could hold his own in serious roles. In an interview with Collider, Batista confirmed how his performance in Blade Runner 2049 made an impression on Villeneuve, who consequently found the actor an ideal villain in Dune and Dune: Part Two.
