Out of all the Straw Hats, Zoro is the only member who hasn’t gotten a proper backstory in One Piece. He was the first one to join Luffy, yet all we know about him is how his dream came to be. Like most fans, I was fully prepared for a peek into his past and parentage during Wano.
However, Eiichiro Oda shifted the focus to a new mystery rather than resolving the pre-existing ones. Zoro was on the verge of death after his fight with King and a Grim Reaper appeared before his eyes. Now this Grim Reaper’s presence wasn’t explained, but we all have our own theories regarding what it was.

Criminal Minds follows the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit as they work to profile serial killers and track them down. The Bau team investigates and captures some of the most dangerous criminals in each episode. As a police procedural show, Criminal Minds sees many character deaths across the original show’s 15 seasons and its spinoffs. Every example is undoubtedly saddening, since it represents another human falling victim to the Grim Reaper.
However, in Criminal Minds' narrative context, some deaths are more memorable and painful, though not necessarily more meaningful. This is often caused by the characters appearing more frequently or the circumstances of an episode hitting differently. Better writing can also influence how memorable a character's death is, even if the character appeared in a single Criminal Minds episode.

In chapter 1142 of One Piece, a revolutionary Devil Fruit has been introduced by Eiichiro Oda. And one can easily assume that it is the most terrifying power that has been introduced in the series so far. The chapter introduced Saint Sommers and his Devil Fruit, who are likely to play huge roles in the upcoming arcs of One Piece.
Needless to say, the Straw Hats are bound to face this deadly knight, and the battle will be fiercer than ever. But one of the pirates in particular might face a worse ordeal than others.

Just like every other One Piece fan, I am also eager to see the Straw Hat Pirates unlock new abilities that would get them ready for the next stage and also make their journey to Elbaph valuable. Out of all the Straw Hat Pirates, the one member who needs an upgrade the most is Usopp, the sniper of the crew who hasn’t had a power-up since the time skip.
Usopp Might Get a Power Up | Credit: Toei Animation
He still has a lot of development left, and he is lagging behind the other crew members who have become incredibly strong and worthy of the Emperor title in One Piece. However, as much as I want to see Usopp grow, there is one other character who desperately needs a power upgrade. This character is none other than Roronoa Zoro, the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece.

Disney+ will have a packed slate of new MCU shows this year. In addition to Daredevil: Born Again, which premieres on Mar. 4, Wonder Man is also set to be released this year. The series stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the titular hero, along with Ben Kingsley reprising his role as Trevor Slattery, and Demetrius Grosse joining the MCU as Eric Williams/Grim Reaper. The first glimpse of the series was revealed in a wider Marvel Disney+ trailer late last year. The footage looked promising, but Marvel's Brad Winderbaum has given the show some incredibly hyperbolic praise.
During an interview with Collider, Brad Winderbaum, head of streaming, television, and animation at Marvel Studios, was asked about the status of Wonder Man. He first revealed that the new series will run for "eight episodes," although an exact release date has still not been revealed. According to Winderbaum, Wonder Man won't be another by-the-numbers superhero story,...

Marvel's next Spotlight series, Wonder Man, is heading to Disney+ this December, but aside from some stills and a first glimpse of some footage from the show via a brief teaser promo towards the end of last year, there hasn't really been much to report over the past couple of months.
Now, Marvel's Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum, has shared some updates, and in addition to confirming the episode count, he's given Wonder Man his endorsement as "the best show no one's ever seen."
"Wonder Man is eight episodes. It's a very new flavor for Marvel," the exec tells Collider. "It's straight from the minds of Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest. Honestly, it is one of my favorite things ever. I think it's the best show no one's ever seen, and I’m very excited to see the audience reaction to it. I think it's a...

The following contains spoilers for the My Hero Academia manga.
Some shonen manga and anime decisions spark controversy, with mangaka like Kohei Horikoshi upsetting fans by killing characters too soon or letting others survive when they shouldn't. The most glaring example is Katsuki Bakugo’s miraculous survival after Tomura Shigaraki blew a hole in his chest. His heart was destroyed, yet that wasn’t the end—though it should have been.
In the manga, Pro-Hero Edgeshot successfully used his Foldabody Quirk to replace Bakugo’s heart, while Season 7 of the anime left his fate uncertain. Sparing Bakugo wasn’t just unpopular—it was a poor narrative choice. Worse, it puts My Hero Academia in a growing trend of action anime undoing major deaths, weakening stakes and dulling the emotional impact of hero sacrifices.

Exclusive: Rising Spanish-Colombian filmmaker Gala Del Sol has signed with M88 for representation.
Del Sol is coming off the Sundance premiere of Rains Over Babel, her genre-bending debut feature, which she wrote, directed, and produced. Reimagining Dante’s “Inferno” through a queer, tropical-punk lens, the film is set in the mythical City of Maya, a retrofuturistic version of Cali, Colombia, and centers around Babel, a legendary dive bar that serves as a purgatorial meeting point for lost souls. Presiding over this enigmatic establishment is La Flaca, the city’s Grim Reaper, who challenges patrons to gamble years of their lives in hopes of altering their destinies.
After launching at Sundance, Rains Over Babel went on to make its European premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam earlier this month.
Previously, Del Sol was a finalist for the Student Academy Awards with her short film Pasajeros en trance, which was her thesis from Chapman University.

Jim Carrey’s Epic A Christmas Carol Transformation (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Jim Carrey went full professional mode in A Christmas Carol (2009), taking on seven roles like it’s no big deal. We all know Carrey can do anything—rubber-faced comedy, dramatic tearjerkers, or anything. But this? This was another level.
Not only did he bring Ebenezer Scrooge to life, but he also played all three Christmas ghosts. Robert Zemeckis brought this chef-d’oeuvre to life with motion-capture CGI, giving it a reinvigorated spin. And with Carrey at the helm, it’s an unconditional masterclass in doing the most.

In Christmas Carol, Ebenezer Scrooge is grouchy, frugal, and utterly apathetic to joy. As for Christmas? He wants no part of it. But Carrey didn’t just play one Scrooge—he played four. We see him as a grumpy old man, a bitter middle-aged dude,...

Death Is Back And The Kills Are As Gnarly As Ever In First Trailer For Final Destination: Bloodlines
Horror reboots are all the rage these days. Scream, Scary Movie, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Saw — you name it, there's a decent chance someone's out there with red string and pins figuring out a fiendish way to bring it back. With that being said, the latest addition to the growing reboot canon is New Line Cinema's Final Destination: Bloodlines, the first new entry in what remains the only major franchise that can proudly boast Death itself as its antagonist since Final Destination 5 some 14 years ago. And if the gnarly first trailer for Freaks directors Adam B. Stein & Zach Lipovsky's upcoming movie is anything to go by, then we may be in for the Grim Reaper's gnarliest killing spree yet. If you have any piercings, proceed with caution:

One Piece is full of early predictions and theories, with Eiichiro Oda frequently setting up major events years in advance. A scene that many fans brushed off as comedic or bizarre might actually hint at one of the most game-changing power awakenings in the series. Fans recall the moment when Brook was about to hit Zoro while he was seriously injured.

At first sight, it appeared to be a funny moment or just Brook being Brook, but what if it was an important piece of clues? Fans wonder if Brook’s Devil Fruit awakening allows him to become Death itself, capable of collecting the souls of those on the verge of passing.
Brook’s instinctual reaction: Early signs of his awakening?

In addition to Lulu and Dante sparring, General Hospital spoilers for Wednesday, January 22, focus on Kristina hosting the re-opening of Charlie’s.

Since Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) returned from Prague, they’ve avoided each other. Instead, they talked about Prague to everyone else who would listen, especially Lulu. She has had no problems blaming Dante for losing Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) in each of her conversations.
Look for Dante and Lulu to spar in an inevitable conversation that could go all wrong. Or, maybe, the exes can stop playing the blame game and hash out their differences. Lulu charged into Prague without thinking about the consequences. Whatever she thinks, Charlotte is gone, and if she wants her back, she’s going to have to strategize and muster up some patience. Will Dante offer his help?

Aubrey Plaza was excellent in Agatha All Along with her portrayal of Death. Finally, Marvel fans got to see the cosmic entity coming to fruition on TV via the acclaimed Disney Plus series. Naturally, some may ask if the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of the character is the same one that Thanos was absolutely head over heels for in the pages of Marvel Comics. To simply answer that: yes and no. The MCU has a history of tweaking things for the screen and this instance is no different, but even so, there are some similarities. So, essentially, the character is the same in some ways, but she's also still very different in Jac Schaeffer's series.

This article contains spoilers for "Castlevania: Nocturne" season 2.
In many ways, "Castlevania: Nocturne" season 2 mirrors "Castlevania" season 2. Given that "Castlevania" season 2 is widely considered the show's best season, that's a huge compliment. They both amp up the ideas, storylines, and action of their respective debuts, deepening the core themes and giving increased screen time to the villains. And just like "Castlevania" season 2, the sophomore outing of "Nocturne" wraps up most of the major arcs begun in its first season. As One Piece fans know, death has been a rarity in the series since the beginning. Eiichiro Oda has made sure that almost every arc of the One Piece storyline ends with as few deaths as possible. However, there still have been speculations about a few of the One Piece characters succumbing to death by the final war of the series.
Roronoa Zoro in One Piece | Credit: Toei Animation
This is because most of these characters have been too close to death in the past, hinting that they might not be lucky every time. One such character is in the Straw Hat Pirates as well who generally fights till his very last breath and makes sure that his opponent is defeated no matter what. This character is none other than Roronoa Zoro, the swordsman of the crew.
Since the beginning of the series, Zoro’s battles often ended with him getting too close to death.

One of the biggest unanswered mysteries of human existence is the question of whether or not there is life after death. Is there a heaven? A hell? Is reincarnation real? If you played professional baseball when you were alive, does that mean that you’re doomed to spend eternity haunting some random guy’s corn crops?
Well, The New York Times recently published an article all about the Division of Perceptual Studies at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. As the university’s website explains, “Dops is investigating the mind’s relationship to the body and the possibility of consciousness surviving physical death.”
The department has faced some pushback from academics wary of studies concerning the “paranormal.” So, as The Times notes, Dops is “financed entirely by private donations.” And one of those private donors just so happens to be this guy:

There are a lot of alternatives to Marvel and DC Comics out there for comic book readers. For example, Skybound/Image Comics have created the Energon Universe and it’s been one of the best runs of comics in the last couple of years. The best part is it looks like things are just getting started in this universe and there's no sign that they will slow down.
If you have found yourself looking for stories that don't necessarily involve the characters of Marvel and DC Comics, then the Energon Universe might be for you. But if it isn't and you'd prefer something different altogether, these nine comic books are what you’re looking for.
The creative teams and companies on this list tell compelling tales with amazing artwork. Best of all, these are stories Marvel and DC probably couldn’t tell.

The Sims 4 has been around for over a decade, accumulating an enormous player database. The game's success has come down to its community-driven fanbase, as well as The Sims 4's continuous content pack releases. The base game for The Sims 4 has always been, unfortunately, a little bit lackluster compared to previous installments, lacking many of the unpredictable live mode elements that made the earlier games more exciting.
The Sims 4's variety of content packs released over the last 10 years have kept the game alive with their constant stream of new content for players to play around with. From the introductions of various occult packs (which The Sims always do very well) to content themed around everyday mundane activities like laundry, recycling and more, there's always something new in The Sims 4.

2024 was one of the biggest years for the X-Men franchise there's ever been, with the ending of the epic Krakoan Era followed by the major direction change of Marvel's 'From the Ashes' relaunch. Heroes have gotten their first solo series ever, lore-defining secrets have been exposed, and not everyone made it out alive. However, even in that context, Kitty Pryde has been through a staggering transformation, unlocking her ultimate form as the inhuman Shadowtiger.
2019-2024's Krakoan Era ended with the X-Men going up against two of their deadliest enemies - the super-advanced Sentinel Nimrod and the AI god Enigma. Kieron Gillen and R.B. Silva's epic Rise of the Powers of X revealed the near future, where the final team of X-Men gave their lives to change the past and give mutantkind a slim chance at victory. That team included power mimic Synch, an AI copy of Tony Stark,...

2024 was the biggest year for Marvel's Phil Coulson since his death in 2012's The Avengers. That's not just because he was resurrection from death, but because he gained immense cosmic power, literally replacing a god in Marvel canon. Nobody guessed that 2024 would transform Phil Coulson, let alone make him the godlike leader of Marvel's most powerful team.
2024 saw a major upheaval in the lore surrounding the Infinity Stones, as Thanos revealed he had created a new 'Death Stone.' However, things really changed when the Stone escaped its creator, resurrecting and empowering former Shield agent Phil Coulson. Not only did this give Coulson major new powers, but it forced him to replace Death, becoming Marvel's new Grim Reaper.
The Death Stone was created when Thanos bound the entity known as Death (and often manifesting as his cosmic love 'Lady Death') to an artificial Infinity Stone. Now that the...

As Phil Coulson returns to Marvel continuity, he's showcasing a new redesign to go with his superhero persona. However, anyone expecting the classic cape and tights is way off, as Coulson's new design makes a spine-tingling change to the dedicated Shield agent. The design is reasonable considering that - going by power level - Coulson is now closer to a god than a superhero.
Phil Coulson's Powers Turn Him into the Grim Reaper (Literally) The Former Shield Agent Commands the Death Stone
In Derek Landy, Ruairí Coleman, Scott Hanna, Brian Reber, Erick Arciniega and Cory Petit's Infinity Watch #1, Coulson brings together Marvel's Infinity Stone Bearers, trying to forge the ragtag group into a true force for good. However, the assembled heroes and semi-reformed villains are shocked when Coulson turns up in the guise of the Grim Reaper, complete with scythe. Hulu’s Light Shop is a far cry from Gangnam B-Side, and I’m overjoyed by the prospect. The dark mystery series takes a deep dive into the purgatory between life and death. In it, we’re often confused about who is human and who is a spirit because many humans are able to see and interact with the spirits. At the end of a terrifying alley is a light shop that is always open late at night. Its bright interior attracts anyone who passes through the alley to visit unprompted. In the first four episodes of the series, all released in one go, we meet a few characters who are afraid of this alleyway. By the end of the fourth episode, there is a major twist that leaves you shocked. Not only is this a big revelation going forward, but it also sheds new light, both figuratively and literally,...

Warning: Contains Spoilers for Gladiator 2!Lucius has dreams of his wife in Gladiator II that are shown in black and white, and the contents and meaning of the dreams deserve deeper exploration. Dreams were a key part of the original Gladiator thanks to Marcus Aurelius' "Dream of Rome" and Maximus' dream/vision of his family in the afterlife. Although Gladiator 2 shifts the narrative focus to Maximus' son Lucius, director Ridley Scott copies plenty of decisions from the first movie. This includes a recurring moment in the sequel where Lucius dreams about his wife in black and white - harkening back to the visions his father had.
Whereas Maximus' dreams were a bit more realistic - showing his wife and son at their house - Gladiator 2 takes a very different approach with Lucius. His dreams are still tied to trauma and the loss of a loved one, specifically his wife,...

Fans have remarked on several possibilities for the future death of Straw Hat in One Piece. The theories mostly revolve around Usopp at the moment with the Elbaph Arc kicking up in momentum and his relevance rising with it. However, many fans believe there was another Straw Hat who has foreshadowed in the most obvious way possible and it’s their swordsman, Roronoa Zoro.
While Zoro might seem like an untouchable figure in One Piece, especially when he can lift the weight of an entire ship without difficulty, it reminds us that he’s only human. This moment during the Wano Arc even made Zoro, who pretty much fights anyone of any size, beg for his life.

The Grim Reaper might not be a friendly sight in The Sims 4, but as it turns out, the specter of doom can be weak to a much more comical foe. The Sims has always taken a wacky approach to its simulation of life, and the Grim Reaper appearing to harvest the souls of the departing is an absurd choice that fits right in. Although he receives renewed focus in The Sims 4's recent Life & Death expansion pack, the Grim Reaper's status as the star of the show doesn't make him immune to all threats.
Sims 4 player JadoreBootyNoir shared a comical death for the Grim Reaper on Reddit, noting that their "evil chicken" took care of the scythe-wielding soul collector. A screenshot of the scenario shows the Grim Reaper collapsed next to a swimming pool, with a black-feathered chicken in a top hat looming over the tragic scene.

The Sims 4: Life & Death reintroduces the Specter family into the town of Ravenwood. Their matriarch, Olive Specter, was one of the most iconic residents and starting characters in The Sims 2. Rumors swirled that she was a mass murderer, obsessed stalker, or crazed recluse. It was up to players to either find out the truth or help the Specters bury those secrets along with any enemies. The Sims 3 further touched on the life of a younger Olive, raising her son, Nervous Subject, alone but not out of the sights of the Grim Reaper.

Vince Gilligan is most widely known for creating the Breaking Bad universe, consisting of Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, and El Camino: A Breaking Bad Story. Before that, he was a prominent figure in the iconic Fox science fiction show, The X-Files. Gilligan was a big fan of the show and wrote an episode that the series picked up in season two of their run. From there, Gilligan wrote over twenty episodes and went on to produce, executive produce, and supervise many episodes of The X-Files.

Marvel has unveiled new images of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's Wonder Man/Simon Williams, including one of the character in a scene with the returning fan-favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe character Trevor Slattery, portrayed by the immortal Sir Ben Kingsley. One Stardew Valley player discovered while speedrunning a cavern that they should always be prepared for the unexpected. Stardew Valley has many secrets and surprises to uncover, so many players take their time exploring and uncovering them. When one fan tried to rush through one of the game's caverns, they realized only too late that they should have left room in their inventory for potential treasure.
Reddit user TueboEmu315 discovered at the worst moment that they "may have made a grave mistake trying to speed run this cavern." All of us here at Bloody Disgusting are devastated to learn that horror icon Tony Todd, the legendary actor who played the title character in Candyman (1992) and its sequels, passed away on November 6 at his home in Los Angeles. He was 69. Deadline first reported the news.

In the ever-evolving world of The Sims 4, one astute player found a simple workaround that can make players an infinite amount of money. Vacation days in Sims 4 are allotted to a player based on their Sim's job ranking, which can go as high as 10 based on their Sim's reputation, meaning every job a player's Sim takes is a chance to make easy money.
Redditor OutrageousBreak9065 explained in a post on the Sims 4 subreddit that their Sim is always getting job offers ranked five or above that they decline. However, once OutrageousBreak9065 realized each job comes with three vacation days upfront, they've been using those days to make money while doing nothing before moving on to the next job.
