Warrior Nun's return faces a potential setback after a financial probe of the production company working on the series' revival. Following the end of Warrior Nun season 2, the action fantasy series was cancelled by Netflix, leading to a global fan movement to revive the series. While a return was promised in 2023, it was revealed to be a revival movie trilogy produced by Dean English with the involvement of comic creator Ben Dunn. Since then, there has been very little news about its return, including formal, public information about whether the series will be a reboot or a sequel.
Now, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed the production company and film financier Productivity Media Inc. faced a financial probe that could be a setback for Warrior Nun's comeback. CEO William Santor was suspended after reports of financial mismanagement within the company. Some producers on the company's independent films have reportedly not been paid in full,...

The cancellation of Warrior Nun is even more disappointing considering the potential storylines for Ava and Beatrice in Season 3. The absence of many creatives involved in the show suggests that the movie trilogy may diverge significantly from the original series. While the movies may not provide a complete resolution for Ava and Beatrice's storyline, there is still hope that their importance in the holy war will be acknowledged and they will have a happy ending outside of the Order of the Cruciform Sword.
Ava and Beatrice’s relationship was at the front and center of Warrior Nun seasons 1 and 2, and the reveals about where season 3 would have taken them make the fantasy drama’s cancellation sting even more. Warrior Nun season 3 would have seen Ava Silva become sort of a villain, flipping her previous character arc. Reya, the powerful entity from another world, would have manipulated Ava and turned her into a weapon in season 3. Beatrice, who left the Ocs in season 2, would have gone missing in season 3, possibly allowing for a deeper exploration of her character outside of her life as a Warrior Sister.

Warrior Nun will rise again.
Executive producer Dean English shared that the canceled Netflix drama will return as a trilogy of movies.
"I am very happy to announce that Warrior Nun is coming back as a trilogy of motion pictures," he shared in a statement.
"Once again, a trilogy of feature films. Three."
English couldn't delve into the finer details of the deal due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
"Some may ask, 'Does this perhaps infer that there's going to be a universe being launched of Warrior Nun, which could expand into films and TV series following characters that we already know?'"
"The answer to that question is yes. And there will be more details in the future."
News of a revival was teased in June when series creator Simon Barry revealed the show will return.

Very exciting news has just been announced for fans of Warrior Nun, the fantasy series that was canceled prematurely at Netflix after just two seasons.
Back in 2020, Netflix premiered the first season of Warrior Nun, and after it was met with high viewership and positive reviews, the show was renewed for Season 2. The second season hit the streaming platform last November, but it was conversely reported soon after that Netflix had passed on renewing Warrior Nun for Season 3. Fans of the show had since been demanding that the series be saved with the #SaveWarriorNun campaign, and creator Simon Barry teased in June that the show would be continuing in some fashion. Now, a video update shared to YouTube features executive producer Dean English revealing that Warrior Nun will return as a trilogy of movies, picking up from where Season 2 of the Netflix show left off.

There were many unhappy fans when Netflix canceled Warrior Nun after two seasons in December and for good reason.
The show had a thrilling plot and excellent characters.
If the conversation on social media was to be believed, the series was a big hit (check out why Warrior Nun should be your next obsession!)
When shows are canceled, they rarely return, but series creator Simon Barry took to social media with a wild announcement:
A comeback for the show is officially in the works.
How? We're not quite sure, ad it might be the case that we won't hear more until a deal is reached.

When shows get cancelled by one network, they often have a chance to find a new home. Sometimes it doesn’t work out (I was surprised The Winchesters wasn’t able to find a new home after being cancelled by The CW), sometimes it does… And apparently Warrior Nun, a live-action series loosely based on Ben Dunn’s manga-style comic book Warrior Nun Areala, is one of the success stories. It was announced back in December that Warrior Nun had been cancelled after two seasons on the Netflix streaming service, but now series creator Simon Barry has revealed that season 3 is going to happen – and he says it’s going to be an epic revival!
Barry shared the news on Twitter, saying, “Today I’m happy to officially report that because of your combined voices, passion and amazing efforts – #WarriorNun will return and is going to be more Epic than you could imagine.

One month after the second season of “Warrior Nun” debuted on Netflix last year, the streaming service opted not to renew the series for a third, we learned back in December.
This week, however, the “Warrior Nun” news is surprisingly good. It seems that due to a whole lot of fan demand, the cancelled Netflix series is getting a second chance at life.
Creator Simon Barry tweeted late last night, “Today I’m happy to officially report that because of your combined voices, passion and amazing efforts – #WarriorNun will return and is going to be more Epic than you could imagine. More details to come! Soon! Thank-you!!”
Does this mean “Warrior Nun” Season 3 will be airing on Netflix, or has another network/streamer picked up the show? We don’t have any details at this time. Stay tuned.

The following contains spoilers for Warrior Nun.
It’s been two years since the first season of Netflix’s Warrior Nun premiered and a lot has changed in the streaming landscape since then. A plethora of promising programs from The Midnight Club to First Kill have come and gone on the platform after just a single season, and it’s harder than ever for a show to break through the noise and find an audience. (Particularly when the streamer seems all too eager to cut promotional budgets.)
Given these recent trends, no one is likely that shocked by the announcement that Netflix has chosen to end the series following its recently released second season, but it’s also hard to argue that Warrior Nun deserved better, particularly since its sophomore outing was even stronger than its first. A delightful, female-led fantasy action adventure, Warrior Nun Season 2 not only pays off...

Netflix is parting ways with Warrior Nun.
Deadline reported Tuesday afternoon that the cult favorite has been canceled after two seasons.
The second season of the series launched on November 10, but there was a lack of promotion for the series, likely contributing to the lower-than-expected performance.
Netflix had several opportunities to promote the show, including at its Tudum Global Fan Event, but the streaming service elected to let the show slip under the radar.
As a result, Warrior Nun Season 2 spent just three weeks in the streamer's weekly Top 10 for English-language series, with #5 being the peak.
The series also showed up on the Nielsen Streaming Chart for the week of November 7, with 595 million minutes viewed, coming in ahead of The Handmaid's Tale, Andor, and The Watcher for that week.

“Warrior Nun” has been canceled at Netflix after two seasons, Variety has confirmed.
The decision comes a little over a month after the fantasy action series debuted its second season, which dropped in its entirety on Netflix on Nov. 10. The series originally debuted on the streamer back in July 2020, with the second season being announced in August of that year.
“Warrior Nun” is based on the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala originally created by Ben Dunn. The series centers on Ava Silva, played by Ava Baptista. Silva finds herself pulled into the world of an ancient order of nuns known as the Order of the Cruciform Sword, who battle demons and other powerful forces on Earth, after an ancient artifact is embedded in her back.

Along with Baptista, the series also starred Toya Turner, Lorena Andrea, Kristina Tonteri-Young and Olivia Delcan.

Exclusive: Netflix has opted not to order a third season of Warrior Nun. The decision was made a month after the Nov. 10 release of the fantasy drama’s second season.
Warrior Nun‘s second season ratings performance follows the pattern of other scripted series which have been canceled by Netflix as the streamer evaluates viewing vs. cost for their renewal decisions. Season 2 spent just three weeks in Netflix’s Weekly Top 10 for English-language series, peaking at #5. Warrior Nun has built a small yet passionate fan base, which helped it secure a second season renewal but was not enough to sustain the series in the long run.

Warning: Spoilers for Warrior Nun Season 2Shotgun Mary (Toya Turner) was missing from Warrior Nun season 2, but she has some excellent potential storylines if Mary returns in season 3. Mary was originally part of Warrior Nun season 2's cast but Toya Turner left the show for personal reasons. Warrior Nun season 2 had to be rewritten to compensate for Mary's absence instead of recasting the iconic role, but given the events of season 2, Shotgun Mary could once again be integral to the series in Warrior Nun season 3.
It's crucial that Shotgun Mary is only believed dead in Warrior Nun season 2 as opposed to being formally killed off. Sister Lilith (Lorena Andrea) searches for Mary at the start of Warrior Nun season 2, and the treacherous Father Vincent (Tristán Ulloa) convinces Lilith that Mary is dead. Lilith reports that Mary is "lost" to the Order of the Cruciform Sword, but since Warrior Nun never showed her body,...

Warning: Spoilers for Warrior Nun Season 2Ava (Alba Baptista) gained an incredible new Halo power in Warrior Nun season 2, but it never factored into how she and the Order of the Cruciform Sword defeated Adriel (William Miller). Ava had the fate of the world on her shoulders in Warrior Nun season 2, and she was up against seemingly insurmountable odds. Even with her powers, Adriel was more powerful than the Halo Bearer and couldn't be killed in our realm by any Earthly weapon. Meanwhile, Ava also had to battle Sister Lilith (Lorena Andrea), who evolved into a powerful new form and even grew wings.
Warrior Nun season 2 picks up months after season 1's cliffhanger, but thanks to her training under Sister Beatrice (Kristina Tonteri-Young), Ava gained more Halo powers, including a new miraculous ability to run on the surface of water like the Flash can. Unfortunately, Ava couldn't maintain her walking...
