Sza Drops Four New Songs on Expanded Version of Lana (Sos Deluxe): Stream

Coinciding with her appearance during Kendrick Lamar’s show-stopping Super Bowl halftime show, Sza has expanded her most recent deluxe release with four new songs. This brings Lana (Sos Deluxe) to a mammoth 42 tracks.

The new tracklist now features an alternate version of Lana cut “Open Arms” without the Travis Scott feature of the original, titled the “Just Sza” version. The expansion is rounded out by “Joni” featuring Don Toliver, “Take You Down,” and “PSA.”

According to Billboard, the album has the most weeks atop the chart for an R&b/hip-hop album by a woman since Whitney Houston’s self-titled spent 14 weeks in the spot. Sos has clocked in at 12.

Joni Mitchell Revisits Her Move From the ‘Hit Department’ to the ‘Art Department’ on Late Seventies Box Set

Following Joni Mitchell’s return to Spotify, the singer-songwriter will release The Asylum Albums (1976-1980), out June 21 via Rhino.

The box set contains a remastering of Mitchell’s albums from the late Seventies: 1976’s Hejira (1976), 1977’s Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter, 1979’s Mingus, and the 1980 live album Shadows and Light. You won’t find any unreleased recordings or outtakes here; Mitchell will include those on the official Archives Vol. 4, expected later this year.

Each record on The Asylum Albums (1976-1980) was remastered from flat analong master tapes by Bernie Grundman.

Musicians React to Death of Robbie Robertson

Robbie Robertson, the iconic guitarist and principal songwriter of The Band, passed away on Wednesday, August 9th after a long illness. Naturally, tributes poured in from the likes of Joni Mitchell, Stephen Stills, Neil Diamond, Stevie Van Zandt, Jason Isbell, Margo Price, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and more.

“A good friend and a genius. The Band’s music shocked the excess out of the Renaissance and were an essential part of the final back-to-the-roots trend of ‘60s,” wrote Van Zandt. “He was an underrated brilliant guitar player adding greatly to Bob Dylan’s best tour & best album.

“The music world lost a great one with the passing of Robbie Robertson,” Diamond said on Twitter, while Stills added, “Always kind and generous. Rest in peace, Robbie Robertson.”
