Call Me Kat is adding another big name to its guest-starring roster this week.
Thursday's new episode promises to be another comical episode, and we have an exclusive first look.
Margaret Cho appears as Val, a local cat lover preparing to compete in the Pretty Kitty Cat show.
Her first meeting with Kat is anything but sweet when Val strongly implies that Kat has no chance in the competition with her cat.
"To take her mind off their breakup and Max and Zoey's (guest star Margie Mays) new successful song, Kat attends a cat show with Sheila and Randi," Fox teases of the storyline.
"Kat's competitive side is brought to life, when local cat lover Val (guest star Margaret Cho) thinks Kat and her rescue cat have no chance of bringing home a trophy."
It's a comical scene showcasing Val's tenacity to win, but Kat is not fond of being counted out.

American Idol hosted its first-ever virtual finale on Sunday, crowning the winner of Season 18 from a distance of six feet… and many miles.
The first order of business was trimming the remaining seven contestants down to five, which meant the elimination of two more fan favorites. After tallying the nationwide vote based on last Sunday’s episode, Ryan Seacrest announced that Julia Gargano and Louis Knight were going staying home. This left the Top 5 — Dillon James, Jonny West, Arthur Gunn, Francisco Martin and Just Sam — to sing for America’s real-time votes.

Jonny West had accompanied his girlfriend, Margie Mays, to her Season 17 audition of “American Idol” and in Season 18 he decided to try out alongside her. While Margie made it to Hollywood again, it was her accompanist who really made the judges swoon. Now West is one of seven artists in the running to become the Season 18 winner.
West soared when he reached the Top 20, singing “What a Wonderful World” and earned a spot in the Top 11. In the “Homeward Bound” episode he took on a Journey classic with “Faithfully” and once again felt the love from viewers who voted him into the Top 7. For his “Disney/Mother’s Day” double, West performed “Almost There” and “Amazing Grace” in hopes of being voted into the finale.

The Season 18 finale of “American Idol” will take place on Sunday, May 17 and if viewers are as divided as Gold Derby senior editors Marcus James Dixon, Susan Wloszczyna and contributor Denton Davidson, it could be a nail biter! Each of them is predicting a different winner in this historic season that was nearly upended by the Covid-19 pandemic. Watch our finale predictions video above and let us know who You want to win the title.
“I think the Season 18 winner will be Arthur Gunn,” proclaims Davidson. “I’m picking him based on the season as a whole. He was the first artist that went viral and exploded in a big way. His voice is easily identifiable and Arthur’s views on social media triples everyone else. During the Sunday, May 3 episode of “American Idol,” host Ryan Seacrest announced that Jonny West was one of the Top 11 contestants who were still in the running to join the reality TV show’s iconic winners list. This 23-year-old performed Journey‘s “Faithfully” from his home in Murrieta, California as judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie watched remotely from their locations around the country. If you want Jonny to make it into next week’s Top 7, you need to vote before the cutoff time at 9am Et/6am Pt on Monday, May 4.

The number of contestants still in the running to become the next American Idol can (almost) be counted with just two hands. Sunday’s episode, the show’s second at-home broadcast, narrowed down the Season 18 pack, eliminating nearly half of the remaining competitors. (There is one upside to performing remotely: No one was “sent home.” They were already there!)
The evening began with an emotional performance of “Home” by Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips, an on-the-nose introduction to an episode about — wait for it — home! Throughout the episode, Ryan Seacrest revealed which singers made the cut, followed by those contestants’ performances...

There were several highlight moments on Sunday’s episode of “American Idol” as the Top 20 performed in the safety of their own homes and the judges provided critiques from their somewhat more upscale domiciles. Not even a worldwide epidemic can stop these talented singers from giving it their all. Among my favorites were Dillon James aka the spiritual cowboy with his ready-for-a-music-video Western backdrop as he sang Ray Lamontagne‘s “Let it Be Me” and Just Sam in a red gown while doing justice to Fantasia‘s “Believe.”
But the performance that really got to me was Jonny West, the 23-year-old piano teacher from Murrieta, California, who went through to the Hollywood rounds with his sweetheart and returning auditioner Margie Mays. Alas, Margie did not make the top 40. But last night, she gladly filled in as her honey’s stage crew and got some camera time herself on the show as well.

American Idol began finalizing its Top 20 on Sunday, sending eight hopefuls through to the live shows — and leaving one fan-favorite singer’s fate hanging in the balance.
Let’s start with that cliffhanger: 26-year-old Dillon James, easily one of the more #blessed contestants to grace the Idol stage, charmed the audience with an authentic rendition of Bob Dylan’s “The Times They Are A-Changin’.” It was hard to get a read on what the judges thought of Dillon’s performance, with Katy Perry offering a single vague critique about wanting him to tap into the emotional side of his voice more.

My, Hollywood Week, how you’ve changed. Monday’s American Idol brought us to Los Angeles’ Orpheum Theatre, where 167 lucky contestants — a handful of whom I actually recognized — returned for another chance to impress the judges.
As Katy Perry explained atop the endless two-hour event, “Hollywood this year is… different.” More specifically, the contestants are now being asked to select a genre — pop, rock, R&b, soul, country and singer/songwriter — in which they would like to compete. Additionally, the judges are hearing all 167 contestants sing solo to get a better sense of who they are as individuals.

After five episodes of “American Idol” focused on auditions, the show shifted to Hollywood week on March 16. Expect plenty of fireworks as the three judges — pop princess Katy Perry, country superstar Luke Bryan and Oscar-winning singer/songwriter Lionel Richie — decide which of the hopefuls to take forward in the competition and which will get a farewell hug from host Ryan Seacrest.
Over the course of the three episodes devoted to Hollywood Week (the others airs next Sunday and Monday) the contestants sing in three rounds: lines of 10, groups, and solos. The judges will winnow the list down to just 40 who will sing in a showcase set to air on Sunday, March 29.

On the first two episodes of the 18th season of “American Idol” it seemed that judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan were hellbent to find a fully formed artist with musicianship, a great voice and a sack full of fresh original songs.

Last season “American Idol” viewers fell in love with Margie Mays, aka the girl who chirped like a bird and burped when she was nervous. One of the most viral contestants of “American Idol” this season was someone who didn’t even make it to the live shows: Shayy. This 18-year-old high school student from Midlothian, Va recently lost her vision due to a brain tumor, which the doctors were only partially able to remove. Shayy’s initial audition of Andra Day‘s “Rise Up” was the most-watched audition of Season 17, which is why it was so shocking to see her eliminated in the Hawaii showcase round. The good news for “American Idol” fans is that Shayy returned during Sunday’s season finale to perform “Rise Up” with — who else? — the original singer herself. Watch the video above.

Hollywood Week — or “Hell Week,” according to that little devil Ryan Seacrest — continued on Monday’s American Idol, which ended with one contestant threatening (nay, promising!) to pee on the floor. And after sitting through this episode, I could relate.
