Cage said:

“Don’t know. I do know that there’s been more chatter about it than normal.”

When it comes to National Treasure 3, fans...

Now That’s How You Introduce a New FBI Agent — Grade Dani Rhodes’ Debut
Image
When it comes to filling the void left by the season-opening exit of Special Agent Tiffany Wallace (played by Katherine Renee Kane), it would appear that the third time’s the charm for CBS’ FBI.

After giving Scola a purposely fleeting new partner in Episode 2, followed by an unexpectedly short-term partner (played by Lisette Olivera), the crime drama this week went about things a very different way. The April 1 episode, “Covered,” introduced Special Agent Dani Rhodes (Magnum P.I. and S.W.A.T. vet Emily Alabi) with a robust storyline that both told us much about her as a Leo and had...

"Some Serious Stuff": 'FBI's John Boyd Teases a Deeper Dig Into Scola's Backstory
Image
People say those who are resistant to change oftentimes break, when said change becomes inevitable. For FBI's Scola Stuart (John Boyd), he seems to be quite adaptable at the moment. Having parted ways with his longtime partner, Tiffany (Katherine Renee Kane), in the procedural's Season 7 premiere, Scola has had to try out other partnerships. Sydney Ortiz (Lisette Olivera) is the most recent, however, that hasn't worked out either. Looking ahead regarding what comes next for the agent, a lack of a partner isn't what is likely to upset Scola in a future episode, according to Boyd.

Why S.W.A.T. Was Canceled After Season 6, & and Why CBS Resurrected It
Image
The crime drama S.W.A.T. has yet to achieve the supreme popularity of other CBS series such as NCIS or Blue Bloods, but it's strong enough that it managed to survive not one, but two cancellations. Between 2023 and 2024, S.W.A.T. was in a weird limbo state when Sony and CBS struggled to find common ground to keep the series on-air. Eventually, they did come to an agreement that worked for everybody, but not after a long string of disappointments and confusing decisions.

S.W.A.T. first premiered in 2017, following a Los Angeles Police Department Sergeant named Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson who is tasked with leading a new Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) unit as a way to bridge the gap between the L.A. police force and the Black community. The pièce de résistance of the series is lead actor Shemar Moore, who already had a loyal fanbase from his work on Criminal Minds, another CBS...

How did FBI write out Syd? (And why did Lisette Olivera leave the series?)
Image
FBI explained what happened to Sydney Ortiz, so how did they write off this short-lived character?

Caution: This article contains Spoilers for FBI Season 7, Episode 9

As Season 7 of FBI began, it was confirmed that Tiffany Wallace (Katherine Renee Kane) was leaving the FBI, feeling guilty over losing a partner in Season 6. That left her regular partner, Stuart Scola (John Boyd), needing a new partner.

After a few brief fill-ins, Scola seemed to get a regular new partner in Sydney Ortiz (Lissette Olivera). A member of the Behavioral Crimes Unit, Sydney worked with the team to find a killer targeting her sister. She impressed them enough to join full-time.

It was expected that Olivera would be a regular face on the show and Boyd talked about working with her. That’s why it was a shock when it was announced that Olivera was already leaving the show before her debut episode even aired.

FBI is getting a mini-crossover with Nina dropping in! Find out more about why she’s showing up in the mothership series!

FBI fans have been enduring some unexpected changes on the show. The Season 7 premiere opened by revealing Wallace (Katherine Renee Kane) was leaving the unit. That left Scola (John Boyd) without a regular partner with a couple of fill-ins that didn’t work out.

The plan was for Sydney Ortiz (Lisette Olivera) to join as a Bau operative jumping to the main team. 'FBI' Seeks a New Partner for Scola After the Latest Exit
Image
FBI Season 7 has been a roller coaster for Stuart Scola (John Boyd) as he cycles through partners, with none quite gelling well with him. Since Tiffany's (Katerine Renee Kane) exit in the season premiere, the show has been trying to give him a new partner, and when it seemed like he had found a permanent one in Sydney Ortiz, actress Lisette Olivera departed the show after a few episodes. Scola will be left without a partner once she leaves, but TV Line confirms this won't last long. According to the publication, "the hit CBS drama is currently casting the recurring role (with the option to become a series regular next season) of a thirtysomething female agent who has gobs of undercover experience."...

'FBI' Casting Change: Who's Joining After Lisette Olivera's Syd Ortiz Exits Series
Image
There’s a recasting going on in CBS’ smash-hit series FBI.

If you don’t know, a new cast member joined the show in season 7: National Treasure: Edge of History star Lisette Olivera. However, she will now only appear in a handful of episodes before exiting the series.

Keep reading to find out more…

Lisette was supposed to play a Behavioral Analyst named Syd Ortiz on the drama. It turned out that her character did not fit in well, Deadline reports, and adds it was “not a reflection of [Lisette's] work.”

As she’s only 25 years old, the role may have been miscast. As Deadline put it, “she played too young for an FBI Special Agent.”

Now, TV Line has provided an update on who might be replacing her in a new role on the show.

They said, “The hit CBS drama is currently casting the recurring role (with the...

FBI Season 7 Update Gives New Details On Tiffany’s Replacement (After First Attempt Didn’t Last)
Image
An update on FBI season 7 offers new details on the replacement for Tiffany after the show's first attempt didn't work out. Katherine Renee Kane departed the FBI cast in the premiere episode of FBI season 7, with Special Agent Tiffany Wallace confessing that she no longer has the desire to do the job. National Treasure: Edge of History actor Lisette Olivera was brought in to play Scola's new partner, but the change was temporary and the CBS procedural ultimately decided to go in a different direction.

TVLine has shared an update on how FBI plans to proceed with Tiffany's replacement after Olivera's quick departure, revealing that casting is currently underway for a female agent in her thirties with significant undercover experience. This would be a recurring role, with the option of becoming a series regular in the future. It's worth noting that the main FBI series has already been renewed for two additional seasons,...

5 reasons we'd love FBI to add Chicago Pd's Upton to the cast
Image
FBI is looking for a new agent, and there are a few reasons why Hailey Upton is perfect for the role!

FBI Season 7 opened on a big turn as Tiffany Wallace (Katherine Rene Kane) left the team. She’d been overwhelmed after losing a fellow agent the previous year and even killing the terrorist responsible didn’t help. That left Scola (John Boyd) with a partner hole and a couple of temporary partners.

The plan was for Lisette Olivera to join the show as the new character Syd Ortiz, a member of the Behavioral Analysis Unit, joining the team to help her injured sister after an attack. But in a stunning move, it was announced that Olivera left the show before her first episode even aired!

So Scola needs a new partner, and some fans are suggesting that the best bet is Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) from Chicago Pd! It...

Sidney Ortiz In FBI Season 7 Explained: Is Jubal's New Member Tiffany Wallace's Permanent Replacement?
Image
Warning! Spoilers ahead for FBI season 7, episode 4, "Doubted."

FBI season 7, episode 4 introduces a potential new replacement for Tiffany Wallace when Syd Ortiz joins the team. Tiffany left the FBI season 7 cast after the season premiere, explaining that she was moving to Georgia to work in her sister's cafe and regain her peace of mind. Replacing her was not going to be easy, as she had been Scola's partner since season 3, and he totally trusted her.

While FBI justified writing Tiffany out, their explanations for why Scola's new partners keep leaving aren't nearly as clear. He has had two partners so far, and neither of them has lasted more than an episode. Sofia Ortega decided that the New York Field Office wasn't for her, while neither Ulrich's presence nor his absence was ever explained. When Syd arrives in "Doubted," she's not immediately introduced as Scola's partner, but it's clear...

FBI Season 7, Episode 4 Review: Average Debut for a Short-Lived Character
Image
The following contains major spoilers for FBI Season 7, Episode 4, "Doubted," which debuted Tuesday, Nov. 12 on CBS. It also contains discussion of sexual assault.

FBI Season 7, Episode 4, "Doubted" is a surprisingly underwhelming episode of the CBS show, but the surprise wears off when one learns the circumstances around it. The installment is the debut of National Treasure: Edge of History star Lisette Olivera, who was cast to fill the vacancy created when Katherine Renee Kane left the series. As such, "Doubted" is truly constructed around Olivera's character Sydney "Syd" Ortiz and everyone else feels like they're just along for the ride. But then there's a catch that makes it even more complicated.

"Doubted" begins when Sydney's sister Melanie Ortiz is attacked by a stranger in her apartment. Dissatisfied with the police response, Sydney convinces Isobel Castille to make it an FBI case, and naturally uncovers a much larger crime.

FBI is taking a night off tonight (Nov. 5), but we know when it's back
Image
FBI has been churning out some great episodes this season, especially as we follow the aftermath of Stuart Scola losing his partner, Tiffany Wallace, after she decided to leave the FBI. Unfortunately, even though we’re already looking forward to new episodes, we will have to wait another week to watch our favorite CBS series.

There will not be a brand new episode airing on Tuesday, Nov. 5, nor will there be a repeat. Instead, CBS will be airing election night coverage for the U.S. This means that normal primetime broadcast shows will not be airing any episodes. So unfortunately, we have to wait another week to see what the FBI agents are up to.

The next episode will feature Lisette Olivera, who was originally cast to portray Scola’s new work partner. However, news has already spread that she will not be with the show much longer. She will...

This Disappointing FBI Cast Update Confirms My Worst Fear For Season 7
Image
FBI's disappointing casting update for season 7 confirms what I was afraid would happen during season 7. Tiffany Wallace left FBI in the season 7 premiere, leaving Scola (John Boyd) without a partner. In the episodes since, Scola has worked with several partners who were not good fits for him and did not remain with the New York Field Office, making it clear that they were only placeholders until Syd (Lisette Olivera) could arrive on the scene.

I disapproved of the idea of using temporary partners because it would make it more difficult to trust that Syd was staying for more than a few episodes. However, her character sounded like it would move FBI in a bold, new direction by including a behavioral analyst with little tactical experience in the FBI: season 7 cast. Unfortunately, Dick Wolf Entertainment recently announced that Syd will also only remain with the series for only a few episodes,...

FBI Season 7 Shockingly Loses Another Series Regular
Image
One character on the CBS procedural FBI will be once again without a partner, as Deadline reports Lisette Olivera is leaving the show - before her character even debuts on the series. Oliveras character was originally supposed to be a new partner for Special Agent Stuart Scola, played by John Boyd.

Olivera has filmed a handful of episodes of the hit series and will first be seen in Episode 4 of the current seventh season of FBI as a character named Syd Ortiz. That episode is set to air on Nov. 12. Ortiz is a trained Behavioral Analysis Unit Agent with the criminal division of the New York office of the FBI.

The episodes featuring Olivera are expected to air as previously planned.

Meet the Newest Bau Agent in 'FBI' Season 7 Sneak Peek
Image
While the FBI team is excellent at dealing with offenders, especially violent ones, others are too depraved, and they need some help from another FBI unit. The Bau has been referenced severally in the show but hasn't been actively involved in many cases. This will change in FBI Season 7, Episode 4, "Doubted," when a Bau agent with a personal connection to the case seeks out the team and asks for their help. The episode's logline teases the debut of the new agent, Sydney Ortiz (Lisette Olivera), and the circumstances behind her appearance. The promo for the November 12 episode previews the victims and the team's attempt to find them.

FBI Season 7's New Series Regular Exits Before Onscreen Debut Even Airs
Image
The search for Tiffany's replacement continues, as FBI's new series regular departs before her episode even airs. Citing a desire to move on to different opportunities, Katherine Renee Kane exited during FBI season 7 and the character of Special Agent Tiffany Wallace was written off in the premiere of the seventh installment. Although it seemed like the CBS procedural might have found a permanent replacement, the latest update confirms that the search will continue.

Deadline reports that National Treasure: Edge of History actor Lisette Olivera is departing FBI, with her exit occurring before her character even debuts on-screen. The actor is set to portray Syd Ortiz, a trained Behavioral Analysis Unit Agent that joins the agency's New York field office criminal division. Her character will still debut during the November 12th episode as planned, and the episodes that she has filmed will still be part of season 7.

Ortiz was planned as...

Lisette Olivera’s FBI Tenure Cut Short: A Revolving Door at the Bau?
Lisette Olivera
Lisette Olivera’s arrival at the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit was heralded as the first addition to the main cast in four years. Turns out, that fanfare might have been a tad premature. Olivera, slated to play Agent Syd Ortiz, is already packing her bags after filming just a handful of episodes for the CBS procedural’s […]

‘FBI’ Shocker: Lisette Olivera to Exit — Scola’s New Partner Isn’t Sticking Around
Image
It’s back to the drawing board for Stuart Scola (John Boyd) when it comes to finding someone to replace Tiffany Wallace (Katherine Renee Kane) on FBI. Lisette Olivera is set to debut in the November 12 episode as Syd Ortiz, from the Behavioral Analysis Unit—her name was actually mentioned in the latest episode—and was supposed to be Scola’s new permanent partner, following what Boyd has called “speed dating” for someone after Tiffany left. However, according to Deadline, she’s exiting as a series regular after “a handful of episodes.” The outlet reports that the exit comes due to “how the character fits in the show.” Syd is coming in as an agent who is a bit different from the others on the team. “She’s newer and fresher and younger,” showrunner Mike Weiss told TV Insider around the premiere. With her Bau background, “she’s going to...

'FBI's Newest Series Regular Isn't Sticking Around Very Long
Image
Scola will have to contend with flying solo for several episodes of FBI Season 7. Lisette Olivera, who was meant to come on permanently as Scola's new partner, has departed the show after a few episodes, according to a report from Deadline. Olivera will play Syd Ortiz, a trained Bau agent who joins the team at the New York field office. Reportedly, Olivera departs the series not because of any conflicts or her performance, but because she may read too young to play an FBI detective who can command respect as an authority figure. This does not reflect poorly on Olivera's work as an actor, but at 25 years old, there is not much she can do about it.
