Exclusive: Oscar winner Vanessa Redgrave and husband Franco Nero are leading cast in under-the-radar social thriller, The Estate, which has wrapped filming in the UK.
The film will chart the story of the Wellsleys, an aristocratic family unable to save their ancestral estate because of debts. As they struggle to find a solution, a series of disturbing apparitions begin to haunt them, forcing the Wellsleys to confront the deep injustices they and other landowners, past and present, have wrought. Below is a first-look image.
The film is being directed, produced and was scripted by Redgrave and Nero’s son, Carlo Gabriel Nero, whose credits as director include HBO movie The Fever and as a producer, the 2017 Cannes entry Sea Sorrow.

Peacock has unveiled a quick 60-second official trailer for their Halloween streaming series called John Carpenter's Suburban Screams - out in October (obviously). After releasing the two new Halloween movies directly streaming on Peacock, the service has now partnered with Carpetner to let him develop his own horror anthology series - basically the same thing Netflix did with Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities. "Each episode will delve into the monstrous evil that lurks beneath the surface of friendly suburbia through the lens of one frightful tale... In addition to firsthand accounts, the episodes will include cinematic reenactments, personal archives, and historic town press coverage." The master of horror returns with a new terrifying series titled John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams. That’s right — it features the preceding moniker of “John Carpenter’s…” which means the genre maestro out and out directed the show. And while many fans know how ambivalent Halloween director has been with showbiz, this project is unique whereas Carpenter says he directed the project remotely from his own couch.
