"We've got ourselves a Texas-sized showdown!" Well Go USA has revealed an official trailer for an indie thriller titled Ride, marking the feature directorial debut of Texas actor Jake Allyn. This is set to open in theaters and on VOD together in June this summer. Three generations of bull riders fight to raise money to transfer the family's young daughter to a better cancer hospital. Set in Stephenville TX, Ride explores rodeo, addiction in the Heartland, and the cowboy's place in modern America. A retired bull rider teams up to pull off a bank robbery, but when the heist goes wrong they end up on the run from police. Starring C. “American Idol” marked its 20th birthday on Monday night with “The Great Idol Reunion,” a one-hour special featuring past “Idol” contestants and judges and celebrating the show’s history, both during its years on Fox and its current home on ABC.
“Tonight we are opening the Idol yearbook,” said host Ryan Seacrest as he revealed the “Idol” VIP area, which included such familiar faces as Tamyra Gray, Pia Toscano, Anthony Federov, Brooke White, Justin Guarini, William Hung, and Seacrest’s unforgettable frosted hair.
Wasting no time getting to Hung, whose name is “synonymous with ‘American Idol,'” noted Seacrest, he returned to the stage to reprise his epic Ricky Martin performance of “She Bangs” as former judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson felt right at home alongside the current panel of Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
In classic Abdul form, she kicked into Paula-speak, which fans surely fondly remember.

According to Music Mayhem, representatives for both Hardy and American Idol confirmed the “Memorize You” hitmaker will perform on tonight’s reunion episode in a duet with his fellow Season 17 contestant Laci Kaye Booth. Hardy was arrested by the Louisiana State University Police Department (Lsupd) on Friday and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. Earlier on Friday, Hardy revealed that he had been issued a warrant by the Lsupd and was fully cooperating with the police. “I understand that my career has thrust me into the public spotlight, and I embrace that wholeheartedly as my entire world belongs...

In one of his first interviews since winning “American Idol” Season 17, country singer Laine Hardy just told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest that he can’t wait to “get started working on music.” Laine took the red eye from Los Angeles to New York City in order to appear on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” in the wee hours of Monday morning. “I slept like three hours on the way here,” the 18-year-old mumbled to the morning hosts while donning his flowered suit jacket. One of the most viral contestants of “American Idol” this season was someone who didn’t even make it to the live shows: Shayy. This 18-year-old high school student from Midlothian, Va recently lost her vision due to a brain tumor, which the doctors were only partially able to remove. Shayy’s initial audition of Andra Day‘s “Rise Up” was the most-watched audition of Season 17, which is why it was so shocking to see her eliminated in the Hawaii showcase round. The good news for “American Idol” fans is that Shayy returned during Sunday’s season finale to perform “Rise Up” with — who else? — the original singer herself. Watch the video above.

Hey, "American Idol" fans. Happy Sunday! Tonight, May 19, 2019 was indeed the big night! Finale night! That's right, guys. This long season finally came to a freaking end tonight, and a winner was revealed. All Of the final three contestants: Alejandro Aranda, Laine Hardy and Madison VanDenburg performed two, new songs. They also took part in some artist collaborations. Tonight's Live finale lasted a freaking, full three hours. That's the first in its history. I guess ABC is a lot more generous with their airtime than Fox ever wanted to be. To kick off the show, Judge Lionel Richie, mentor Bobby Bones and a whole bunch of other people hit up the stage to sing, “Dancing on the Ceiling.” Eventually, the top ten Idol contestants returned to join Lionel on stage. After all of that, Laine Hardy hit the stage to sing his first song of the night, which was, "Home" by Marc Broussard.

Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon joined forces with Katy Perry, while Laci Kaye Booth shared the stage with Luke Bryan. Laine Hardy could well win “American Idol” on Sunday according to our poll of viewers. He has narrowed the gap with frontrunner Alejandro Aranda to just seven points (48-41). Right after the Top 3 were revealed on the May 12 episode of “American Idol,” Alejandro enjoyed a 10-point advantage. In the intervening week, the third finalist, Madison VanDenburg, has slipped even further behind, with just 11% support.

For much of this season of “American Idol,” the judges were concerned that Alejandro Aranda wasn’t necessarily “in it to win it,” as former judge Randy Jackson often said. However, following Alejandro’s Top 5 performance of Elton John‘s “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word,” Katy Perry proudly declared, “You’ve decided to actually play in this competition, and it shows.” Fellow judge Lionel Richie echoed her sentiments by proclaiming, “It shows.” Do you think Alejandro has done enough to win Season 17 of “American Idol”? Make your predictions at Gold Derby before next Sunday’s finale.

Tonight, May 12, 2019, the remaining final 5, American Idol contestants did indeed hit the stage to do another set of performances for America's vote. And unfortunately, two of them just did not make the cut. They performed three song tonight. Since there's less people in the competition, they had enough time to do so. Of course, all the judges: Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan were on hand. Wade Cota was the first performer of the night. He sang, "You Are The Best Thing" by Ray Lamontagne. Afterwards, Katy said, "I'm so happy that contestants are pushed past their comfort zones. You met that challenge. I want you to let go even more." Luke said, "I like that you didn’t over do it. You were very easy to listen to." Lionel said, "Just enjoy this ride. Relax a little." Next, Laci Kaye Booth hit the stage to sing, "The House...

Laci Kaye Booth didn’t win enough viewer votes on the Top 6 episode of “American Idol” to make it into the semi-finals. But Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie used their one judges save of the season on May 5 to throw her a lifeline and give her the last slot in the Top 5. Unfortunately for Laci, her most recent performances have not been the post popular with viewers.
We polled “Idol” fans to rank her nine performances to date and their favorite was her first. That cover of the Ray Charles classic “Georgia on My Mind” from the Top 40 show has earned a whopping 28% of the total tally to date. Also scoring well with viewers were Laci’s Top 20 solo — “I Want You To Want Me” by Cheap Trick — which has 23% of the vote, and her Top 20 duet with Brett Young on his hit “Mercy,” which merits 12% support.

In advance of the final five taking to stage on Sunday’s live “American Idol,” we wanted to know who viewers were backing to win season 17. Alejandro Aranda garnered a whopping 40% support in our poll. Laine Hardy, his closest rival more ways than one, is next with 31%. They lead out power rankings from best to worst and are all but certain to number among the Top 3 revealed by Ryan Seacrest at the end of the show on May 12.
Of the other three contestants, Wade Cota looks the likeliest to round out the roster of finalists. He has 15% of the total tally. The two women still standing — Laci Kaye Booth and Madison Vandenburg — did not break into double digits with 6% and 8% of the vote by “American Idol” fans respectively.

Laci Kaye Booth is almost certain to face elimination on “American Idol” this Sunday according to the results of our poll of viewers. She only made the final five on last Sunday’s episode when Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie decided to use their one judges save of the season to keep her in the competition. But she has earned only a measly 6% in our survey of “American Idol” fans heading into the Top 5 show on May 12.
The other contestant joining her in the bottom two is likely to be Madison VanDenburg who merited a mere 8% in our poll results. All five singers still in the competition will take to the stage on Sunday to perform a trio of tunes. Each will sing a song from the Elton John catalog, another picked out by mentor Bobby Bones and a third in honor of Mother’s Day.

On the May 5 episode of “American Idol,” the Top 6 sang two songs each: one that was inspirational and the other from the summer of 1969 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock music festival. Four of the half dozen contestants made it through based on their votes from the public: Alejandro Aranda, Wade Cota, Laine Hardy and Madison VanDenburg. A fifth, Laci Kaye Booth, got the judges save while the other artist in the bottom two, Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, was eliminated.

On Sunday’s “American Idol,” two of the Top 6 contestants were facing elimination: Laci Kaye Booth and Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon. Although they performed at the top of their game, in the end their rival finalists got more of America’s votes. That meant that these two talents fell just short of making the Top 4 who were guaranteed a chance to sing again on May 12.
That leading quartet of vote-getters as revealed by Ryan Seacrest are: Alejandro Aranda, Wade Cota, Laine Hardy and Madison VanDenburg. Hey, "American Idol" fans. Tonight, May 5, 2019, the final 6 American Idol contestants performed Live once again. However, this time, they performed not one, but two songs. Their first set of songs were inspired by the Woodstock music festival. The second set of songs were titled “Inspirational Showstoppers.” American Idol alum and Ccm star Lauren Daigle arrived to mentor the singers through the Showstopper performances. All the judges: Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan were on hand, and they still had a "save" in play to rescue one lucky contestant from elimination. Tonight's Live show started off with the Woodstock performances. Madison Vandenberg hit the stage first to sing, "Piece of My Heart" by Janis Joplin/Erma Franklin. Afterwards, Katy told Madison, “Oh my gush! You flung your pony! I don’t want you to be second. I want you to win this thing. I think the second half was better than the first half.
