Netflix’s Hotel Period Drama ‘Winter Palace’ Sets Cast With Cyril Metzger, Manon Clavel (Exclusive)

Cyril Metzger and Manon Clavel are set to star in Netflix’s upcoming hotel period drama “Winter Palace.”

Metzger (“Happening”) will play André Morel while Clavel (“The Truth”) is set to star as Rose. Together they portray an ambitious married couple who are running the hotel at the centre of the show.

Simon Ludders (“Bridgerton”) plays ambitious aristocrat Lord Fairfax, whose dream is to turn the hotel in a winter holiday destination.

Also joining the cast are Astrid Roos as Lady Isobel, Henry Pettigrew as Sir Conan Doyle, “Vikings” hero Clive Standen as Lance Raney, Vincent Heneine as Chef Voclain and Axel Granberger as Marcus.

Swiss stars Alix Henzelin, Antoine Basler, Gaspard Boesch, Roland Vouilloz, Serge Musy and Karim Barras round out the cast.

“Winter Palace” is set to start filming in the Swiss resort towns of Montreux and Valais this month and is scheduled to wrap next spring.

‘Le Monde De Demain’, ‘Chair Tendre’ among Series Mania 2022 winners

Accredited on-site attendance for forum gains 22% on 2019.

Le Monde De Demain and Chair Tendre were among the winners at Series Mania 2022 as the event in Lille came to a close with accredited on-site attendance for the forum up 22% over 2019 and 57% over 2021.

Series Mania founder and general director Laurence Herszberg (pictured) said the 2022 edition brought together more than 70,000 participants for the festival and 3,300 accredited persons on-site from 64 countries for the Forum compared to 2,100 in 2021 and 2,700 in 2019. The visits to the Series Mania website and Series Mania digital platform produced 260,000 views.

‘The World of Tomorrow’ Wins at Series Mania, ‘The Baby,’ ‘Fire Dance’ Nab Acting Awards

Netflix and Arte’s musical show “Le Monde de Demain” (“The World of Tomorrow”) took the top prize in the International Competition of television festival Series Mania at the event’s awards ceremony Friday.

The series, created by Katell Quillévéré, Hélier Cisterne – both also directing – Vincent Poymiro and David Elkaïm, takes a look at the birth of the French hip-hop movement in the 1980s. Made with the collaboration of Laurent Rigoulet and the participation of Kool Shen, JoeyStarr and DJ Détonateur S, it was described by the organizers as “a personal chronicle about a Parisian suburban youth reaching adulthood, claiming its own space in a new France, a country to reinvent.”

Season 2 of Topic’s original TV series Iskander debuts Thursday, Jan. 13, with the entire season 1 also available for streaming starting on that date. The four-episode debut season of Iskander, a crime drama from French TV, delivers a solid mystery in an exotic setting – French Guyana.

In season 1, we meet Chloe (Stephane Caillard), a police officer banished to this post in the remote jungle setting of Cayenne for some unspecified act of insubordination. On her first day, she’s partnered with veteran detective Dialo (Adama Niane), and sent to the site of a gruesome murder.
