Arun Bhatt was not just a writer but a successful Producer and Director who produced and directed blockbuster Gujarati films such as Mota Ghar Ni Vahu and Lohi Ni Sagaai. He produced 14 films under his own banner named Vijay Films International. He introduced Hindi Industry's Asrani and TV star Priya Tendulkar to the Gujarati Film Industry. Prior to making commercial films, Arun Bhatt made award winning documentaries for The Film's Division commissioned by the Government of Gujarat. One of the most appreciated one was Poets of Gujarat. Arun Bhatt also made Hindi films under his banner. His Vardaan fetched Mehmood his only Filmfare in his entire career as a comedian.

His son Chirantan Bhatt is a music director is Bollywood and his nephew Vikram Bhatt is a well-known writer and director.
