Biography

    • Trained in comedy, drama and improvisation, Lynn has played roles from murderer to mom, TV producer to angry landlord, high school teacher to university professor, and mental patient to therapist on productions in Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego. She is a character actor and the older citizen you recognize from somewhere!

Lynn has studied under George McGrath (Sketch Comedy Writing, The Groundlings School), Allen Levin in Studio City and Terry Ross in San Diego, as well as doing workshops with Kat Brown and others at Finest City Improv. Noted workshops she has participated in include those with comedian Mike McCafferty (commercials); casting director, Candis D. Paule (auditioning); and movement coach, Eileen Troberman (Alexander Technique).

Back in the 70s, after graduating from Cornell University, Lynn Allinger worked as a performing musician (guitar and vocals), touring in southern California for 12 years, even appearing on the original Gong Show with Chuck Barris. She also has an extensive art background: managing Elan Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA for 5 years and then working at Laguna Art Museum and Orange County Museum of Art for 3 years. She has a grown daughter and son, and in July of 2021 transitioned from living in San Diego to Burbank. Retired from 20 years of teaching, Lynn is spending her "golden years" as a full-time actor.
