Exclusive: The Trailer Park Boys rumors are true – Canada’s favorite petty criminals are back with a new season.
We can reveal shooting on the 13th season of Canadian mockumentary Trailer Park Boys has wrapped in Nova Scotia.
This confirms speculation that’s run across this year after star and Tpb co-owner Mike Smith said the show was returning while in character during a social media appearance earlier this year. There hasn’t been a new season of the show – which Barry Dunn, Robb Wells, John Paul Tremblay and Mike Clattenburg originally created and launched in 2001 – since March 2018.
Set in the fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Nova Scotia, the show follows the misadventures of a group of residents, focusing on the lives of Ricky (Wells), Julian (Tremblay) and Bubbles (Smith).
The trio are returning for Season 13, with each of them providing us with a quote for this item. “Feels like it’s been awhile,...

Ronnie Wood agreed to a cameo in new comedy film 'Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties' after Billy Bob Thornton personally reached out to him.The Rolling Stones guitarist plays himself in the movie, which is based on the Canadian TV series 'Trailer Park Boys' and follows Mike Smith's character Bubbles form a country band and get offered a European tour supporting Thornton's rock group the Boxmasters. The movie culminates with a scene in which Ronnie, 77, and Billy, 69, join Bubbles on stage at London's iconic Abbey Road Studios - the place where The Beatles recorded their acclaimed albums - as the character performs a song inspired by his life-long love of cats.Writer-and-actor Mike penned the script with the idea that a major rock star would join Bubbles for the scene, but he had no idea who he would be able to get until his friend Billy - who...

Trailer Park Boys is filled with hilarious one-liners and laugh-out-loud moments, and many of the funniest lines are the best Bubbles quotes from the show's 2001-2014 run. The absurdist series follows the residents of a trailer park and all the trouble they get into. Bubbles is one of those residents, a kitty-loving cart thief played by Mike Smith — who also co-writes Trailer Park Boys. He is often the anchor that keeps his friends Ricky (Robb Wells) and Julian (John Paul Tremblay) grounded. There's something genuine about Bubbles that made him a fan-favorite character, and the best quotes from him demonstrate his many endearing qualities.
While Trailer Park Boys had a solid following in the series' home country of Canada, the boys from the Sunnyvale Trailer Park have extended their fan base immensely since the series and assorted projects were brought to Netflix, resulting in new seasons, films, and live specials starring Ricky,...

It’s a little hard to say how popular the series Trailer Park Boys is. It went for twelve seasons and this is the fourth movie spin-off, all in the space of over twenty years. Not many shows have been quite as prolific as that. But. I have met very few people who have watched the show and I see very little talk about it online. I am a fan of the show and have been for a good while. Although in truth, it’s been a long time since I’ve opened up my DVD boxset. When I discovered a new movie was out though, I jumped at the chance to see it.

“Anybody that causes a prison riot singing about whores and cats, that’s my guy!” quips Billy Bob Thornton (Sling Blade), in Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties: The Bubbles and The Shitrockers Story, a film with one of the most bloated movie titles to arrive in recent memory. The plot of this quirky comedy may not be as consistently amusing, but there’s still spunk in this offbeat tale about a frenzied Canadian band that finds themselves opening for Thornton’s band during a European tour.
To be sure, this film may work best for diehard fans of the hit Canadian TV show, Trailer Park Boys, and/or the real-life band featured in it, Bubbles and The Shitrockers. Still, if you’re a Borat fan and a lover of silly comedies or films about beleaguered bands, this film is for you. For others, it’s amusing enough and a...

Underrated comedy movies on Netflix offer a range of comedic styles, from slapstick to spoof, with memorable characters and hilarious performances. Despite critical backlash, movies like "The Happytime Murders" and "Dirty Grandpa" remain guilty pleasures and box office successes. "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga" and "Accepted" are surprising, underrated comedies on Netflix that deserve more recognition.
When it comes to the underrated comedy movies on Netflix, there are several to choose from that are both underappreciated and often labeled as guilty pleasures. It could be argued that most comedy movies are guilty pleasure movies that simply vary between comic tastes. The more ridiculous, far-fetched, or over-the-top a comedy is, the guiltier the pleasure of watching it. As a pure form of escapism, the comedy genre tends to sit near the top of the heap, offering audiences a chance to forget about life for a while with a big smile on their face.

With his awkwardly hilarious demeanor and thick-lensed glasses, Bubbles has endured as the breakout character of Trailer Park Boys, and there are many interesting facts to know about his actor, Mike Smith. The character's uniquely passive-aggressive nature comes out in some of Bubbles’s most hilarious profanity-filled quotes. Indulging in one misadventure after the other with his friends Ricky and Julian, Bubbles has turned into a pop culture icon. With the character appearing in the Trailer Park Boys’ original run, its movies, and even spinoffs like the animated series, Bubbles has become synonymous with the mockumentary series, as has the actor who plays him.

Director Stu Stone and producing partner Adam Rodness want you to know that their indie film comedy Vandits — about small-time crooks looking to rob a senior citizens’ bingo hall of its 25,000 jackpot on Christmas Eve — having 250,000 worth of camera and lighting equipment stolen on their first day of shooting was no publicity stunt.
“There’s an empty parking space. Where’s the truck? Really, where’s the truck?” Stone recalls asking ashen-faced production crew members in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in October 2021 as he stared at where a truck and trailer with all of his film gear inside had been parked the night before.
It might have looked like a stunt as the Toronto-based filmmakers’ last movie had been Faking a Murderer, a 2020 docu-comedy where Stone and Rodness, in search of their next hit, investigate a seedy man they believed to be a serial killer but never was.

The upcoming weekend boasts an onslaught of new Specialty titles vying for audiences. In all likelihood, however, many will have a short big screen life as the fall’s awards contenders ramp up and crowd others out. Five of this week’s dozen-plus newcomers are spotlighted here with Fox Searchlight’s The Drop edging on a wide release. The feature starring Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and James Gandolfini will bow in over 800 theaters. TWC’s The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby also joins the fray with a platform release. The film also has two accompanying titles told from the perspective of its two main characters, which will be released in more limited runs in October. Magnolia will open its thriller Honeymoon in a day and date release while Dada Films’ Swearnet: The Movie breaks a movie record with the most F-bombs ever. And Cohen Media Group’s My Old Lady bowed Wednesday in limited release.

To say that Canadian comedy hits rock bottom in this abhorrent meta-infomercial for a Funny or Die-like network boasting uncensored online content is the politest way to describe two ugly hours of smug, doughy misogynists saying "fuck" some 935 record-breaking times.
(As shocking as and less funny than a novelty hand buzzer, Swearnet also tallies 76 "shits" and 79 "cocks," according to its marketing material.) It's almost September, which means a whole new slew of titles on Netflix! August proved pretty lucrative on the quality title front, but it looks as though September it's going to blow the rundown out of the water.
TV takes spotlight this month, with the latest full seasons of "The Walking Dead," "New Girl," "The League," "The Blacklist," "Arrow," "Bones," and "Parks and Recreation" primed and ready for streaming before their fall premieres. And fans still mourning the loss of "How I Met Your Mother" (in more ways than one) can rewatch the ninth and final season to their heart's content. Ah, memories. Showtime's recently departed "Californication" can be seen in its entirety (Seasons 1 -7) as well, starting September 1. That's a lot of TV.
Movie fans have plenty to look forward to from Netflix in September, too. Sam Raimi's undersung 1998 thriller "A Simple Plan" hits the streaming service September...

*** Warning: Very Explicit Video -- Foul Language And Nudity ***
The Boys are back -- but not in the roles you're used to.
In "Swearnet," John Paul Tremblay, Robb Wells and Mike Smith play themselves -- three guys burnt out on the idea of being known solely as the Trailer Park Boys, who want to try something new.
That something new is Swearnet, a website/streaming video network showcasing the mischief and debauchery that only the Boys could get up to. Yes, it exists in real life, and "Swearnet" the movie is a fictional rundown of how the idea began.
For those of you unfamiliar with Tremblay, Wells and Smith, please be advised the video is not for the weak -- there is so much swearing it's pretty much every second word. Sometimes every word. Plus, we meet "Swearnet" mascot Swearman, who's ... oh, you have to see for yourself.

Jimmy Kimmel basically took over Seth Meyers's hosting gig when he presented the award for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series at the 2014 Emmy Awards on Monday night and started ripping into audience members. The late-night star, who has hosted the show before, kicked things off by ribbing Matthew McConaughey for being a movie star at a TV-centric award show. After joking that Matthew had a "movie star face" and didn't belong on the small screen, Jimmy then made a point of finding Ricky Gervais in the audience to joke about his TV face. "Actually it's not even a TV face, it's a Netflix face," Jimmy joked. (Don't be offended for Ricky; he looked like he loved it.) Other award-show-host-worthy digs included mocking Matthew for "getting fat" since the Oscars and complaining about having to sit through another one of the star's infamous acceptance speeches. If you want...

Hannibal, “Mizumono”
Written by Steve Lightfoot and Bryan Fuller
Directed by David Slade
Aired May 23rd, 2014
“I let you know me… see me. I gave you a rare gift, but you didn’t want it.” – Hannibal Lecter
If there’s such thing as arthouse television, Hannibal‘s second season is it, a thirteen-hour fever dream of blood, orchestral music, and psychological mind games. Above all, it was a cinematic tragedy, a symbolically-rich tale of a man courting the devil and (most likely) living to tell about it, set against the backdrop of television’s most arresting visual palette.
“Mizumono” is the sweet, sweet cherry on the top of Hannibal‘s breathtaking sophomore effort, a dramatic crescendo catalyzed by one small mistake made on Will’s part: leaving the scent of Freddie Lounds on himself before visiting Hannibal. When Lecter realizes what Will has done, his heart breaks and Hannibal dares...

Canada's favourite trio is back on the big screen with "Trailer Park Boys: Don't Legalize It," and it's almost like they never left us.
After taking a brief hiatus from the world of cinema, Ricky, Julian and Bubbles have returned to tell the story of how they all found their way back to each other. At the start of the movie, things aren't looking good: Bubbles is living under J-Rock's porch, Julian is selling "clean" pee for drug tests, and Ricky is relatively successful with his marijuana grow-op business -- until the Canadian government says they're contemplating legalizing the drug, thus rendering his livelihood obsolete.
Moviefone Canada caught up with the boys at their Toronto hotel to talk about "Don't Legalize It," Toronto Mayor Rob Ford running for re-election, and their thoughts on Justin Bieber's legal troubles.

After the success they enjoyed with reviving “Arrested Development” last May, Netflix will once again become the necromancers of television. This time, they will be giving a second life to the popular Canadian series “Trailer Park Boys” with two new seasons and two feature films confirmed. “Trailer Park Boys,” which has been off the air since 2007, follows the residents of Nova Scotia’s Sunnyvale Trailer Park lead by Ricky (Robb Wells), Julian (John Paul Tremblay), and Bubbles (Mike Smith). On Chozen, FX's new animated series, the title character's sister describes him as, "a boy, trapped inside a man, trapped inside a wifebeater." "You forgot violent and sensitive!" he sputters back. Chozen is indeed all of these things, and more: a gay white rapper who has just emerged from prison, he has a new outlook and a huge chip on his shoulder that are fueling his desire to become the most famous rapper in the world. But an old foe stands in his way. Chozen is the brainchild of several Eastbound and Down writers and producers, and is animated by Floyd County Productions, which also handles Archer. The connections are obvious, not only visually, but in the show's overall style. Chozen (Bobby Moynihan) channels Kenny Powers' self-absorption, love of excessive innuendo (or no innuendo at all), speaking style, and single-mindedness when it comes to fame. Hit the jump for more.
