Neil McGarry

Neil hails from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He is the brother of jazz singer and three time Grammy nominee, Kate McGarry.
He began his work in the theatre as an apprentice at the Cape Cod Melody Tent. Recent work includes the Paramount Plus mini series "Miss Fallaci" as the actor Joseph Cotton. Other film and television credits include: Masas/Sisters, Hill Of Vision, Manaslu - Berg Der Seelen, Frank The Bastard, Edge Of Darkness, The Proposal, Killing Dinner, Fall Apart, Absent Father, Bust, Stranger, Stuff Stephanie In The Incinerator, PBS/American Experience: Alexander Hamilton, ABC TV's All My Children, and Showtime's Brotherhood.
A devoted theatre actor, Neil has long standing relationships with NY Classical Theatre, Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre, Lyric Stage Company of Boston, Saco River Theatre in Buxton, ME, Cape Cod Theatre Company/HJT, Cotuit Center For The Arts, Cape Rep Theatre, and was a company member of The Publick Theatre of Boston for ten years.
Neil has a special love for Shakespeare and has performed in 24 of his 37 plays - and, in 2012, he founded his own band of players, The Bay Colony Shakespeare Company. Neil was Producing Artistic Director until June of 2016. One of the legacies of the BCSC is Neil's solo performance of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, directed by Ross MacDonald. The show was named "Best Of Boston" in 2013 and won "Best Solo Performance of 2014" from the Independent Reviewers of New England. Neil has continued to tour A Christmas Carol taking the show across Europe twice as well as touring up and down the east coast of the United States since 2013. Neil returns to A Christmas Carol this December 2023 for year 10 of the tour.
Neil received his training at the National Shakespeare Conservatory and is a proud member of Actor's Equity Association and SAG - AFTRA. He is represented by Karen Cifarelli of Cifarelli Talent Consulting in Berlin, Germany, and currently lives in the Italian Alps.
