Wilkins notably directed the ESPN Films’ “30 for 30” documentary “86-32,” which chronicles the controversial decision between boxers Roy Jones Jr. and Park Si-Hun in the light middle-weight gold medal match at the 1988 Summer Olympics. The filmmaker also directed and executive produced two seasons of the web series “Docket 32357.”

He helmed the premiere episode of Apple TV Plus’ documentary series “Dear…” for which he interviewed his mentor Spike Lee.

After recently generating some controversy with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr, Jake Paul has just signed his own multi-fight deal with Showtime Boxing. Next month, Jake's older brother Logan will be fighting Mayweather in a pay-per-view exhibition match for Fanmio and Showtime. It's not clear yet how much money Logan will be raking in from that fight, but if all goes well, he's expecting to score at least $20 million.

Now, Jake has just secured a rather hefty payday for himself, and while we don't know numbers, we can presume his new multi-fight deal with Showtime is lucrative. It's also unclear when his first fight with Showtime Boxing will take place, but both sides are in advanced talks about locking down his first opponent, along with a date and location. The contract also means Paul's relationship with Triller is over following his fight against Ben Askren for the company in April.

TV super-producer Nigel Lythgoe is partnering with Triller Fight Club on a new unscripted competition series called “So You Think You Can Fight,” Variety has learned exclusively.

“So You Think You Can Fight” will follow in a similar format to “So You Think You Can Dance.” The weekly, hour-long series will pair a celebrity action star with a pro fighter, each who will select an amateur boxer through a global talent search and competition, along with audience voting and participation. The selected contestants will each go through rigorous mental and physical training, squaring off against each other with one winner for each category — lightweight, heavyweight and Mma. Each winner will go on to a pro bout on a Triller Fight Club main event that will launch their pro boxing career.

The majority of people who have heard of Paul likely came to know him through his time as a Disney actor, rapper, or YouTube personality. It’s the foundation of his polarizing celebrity status, and now he’s trying to parlay that into a fighting career.

Whether you love him or hate him, Paul can’t be deemed unsuccessful. His YouTube channel has more than 20 million subscribers.

A second biographical TV series about Mike Tyson is in the works – this one starring Jamie Foxx as the boxing legend and exec produced by Antoine Fuqua and Martin Scorsese.

Foxx, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Ray Charles in 2004 biopic Ray, will star in and exec produce Tyson, a limited series directed and exec produced by Fuqua and exec produced by Raging Bull director Scorsese and Tyson himself. Fledgling screenwriter Colin Preston wrote the pilot and is in the process of writing the full series.

The project was previously set up as a feature film back in 2014 with Foxx attached to play Tyson and Terence Winter writing the script. It has now become a limited TV series and is set to be taken out to market shortly.

Jamie Foxx will play boxing great Mike Tyson in a new biographical limited series, Variety has learned.

The series, titled simply “Tyson,” is not currently set up at a network or streaming service, but will no doubt find one quickly given the names attached to it already. Antoine Fuqua is onboard to direct and executive produce via Fuqua Films, with Martin Scorsese also executive producing via Sikelia Productions.

The series is said to span the whole of Tyson’s life.

“I have been looking to tell my story for quite some time,” Tyson said. “With the recent launch of Legends Only League and the excitement from fans following my return to the ring, now feels like the perfect moment. I look forward to collaborating with Martin, Antoine, Jamie, and the entire creative team to bring audiences a series that not only captures my professional and personal journey but also inspires and entertains.

Mike Tyson has come out strongly against the planned Hulu series based on his life, “Iron Mike.”

The series, which was announced earlier on Thursday, has been given an eight-episode order at the streamer and is said to explore Tyson’s life and career in and out of the ring.

A limited series about Mike Tyson has been ordered at Hulu, Variety has learned.

Titled “Iron Mike,” the series reunites several key players from the Oscar-winning film “I, Tonya.” Steven Rogers, who wrote the film, created “Iron Mike” and serves as executive producer. Craig Gillespie, who directed the film, will direct and executive produce the series. “I, Tonya” star Margot Robbie will executive produce under the LuckyChap Entertainment banner along with Tom Ackerley and Brett Hedblom.

Karin Gist will serve as showrunner and executive produce via The Gist of It along with Claire Brown. Jake Paul has booked his next bout in the ring.

The unceasingly controversial creator is set to fight a to-be-determined opponent on April 17 amid a deal with Fight Club, a new boxing league launched by micro-video app Triller and the iconic rapper Snoop Dogg. This marks Fight Club’s second event, following an exhibition match between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. in September -- on which Paul fought on the undercard and scored a headline-making knockout against former NBA star Nate Robinson.

Paul’s fight will serve as headliner, and the event will also comprise three major undercards while spotlighting several musical acts and commentators. Leading up to the fight, Paul will share his training process in an exclusive Triller docuseries.

Proxima Media, the production company established by Hollywood producer Ryan Kavanaugh, which owns Triller, will also serve as the production and marketing partner for Fight Club.

Mike Tyson's return fight against Roy Jones Jr. over the weekend may have ended in a draw, but "Iron" Mike still came very close to knocking someone out that night during an altercation after the bout. TMZ Sports reports that Tyson was leaving the Staples Center after the show when he was approached by a small group of fans asking for autographs. When Tyson obliged by walking over to interact with the group, an unidentified man in the crowd took the opportunity to confront him.

According to sources familiar with the situation, the man yelled at Mike Tyson, asking the boxer why he wouldn't fight him. Sort of joking but probably not really, Tyson responded that a fight with the guy "wouldn't end well" for him.
