Strange Darling is a horror thriller film written and directed by Jt Mollner. The 2023 film is set in rural Oregon, and it follows a woman who discovers that the man she just had a one-night stand with is a serial killer, and now she must run to survive as the man chases her.

The Daughter of Doctor Moreau is a retelling of the classic Island of Dr. Moreau by H. G. Wells from the perspective of his coming-of-age daughter, Carlota — a sheltered girl raised to believe her father is a genius. When the charming son of Moreau’s patron, Eduardo, arrives at their estate, he threatens to upend the long-simmering feelings between Carlota and the estate’s overseer, Montgomery Laughton, and causes Carlota to question everything she’s been told — forcing her to reckon with some dark truths about her father and his work.

Longtime fans of Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal know the magic that happens when these two Mexican actors, childhood friends and longtime collaborators get together on screen. Green Day‘s music has been banned from two Las Vegas radio stations after Billie Joe Armstrong called the city “the worst shithole in America.”

Armstrong’s comments stemmed from his beloved Oakland Athletics’ upcoming move to the Sin City. Like many, Armstrong is incensed about his hometown MLB team’s unceremonious relocation to Las Vegas and owner John Fisher’s apparent disregard for the team’s deeply loyal fanbase. The A’s just played their final game at the Oakland Coliseum this past Thursday (September 26th) in front of a sell-out crowd, ending a 57-year run in the Bay Area despite fans’ ongoing pleas for Fisher to “Sell the Team.”

Exclusive: Mexican actress and producer Camila Sodi has signed with Afa Prime Talent Media, a division of Kenan Thompson’s Artists for Artists company, in all areas.

Sodi is currently shooting the series El Dentista (The Dentist) alongside Demián Bichir for ViX and Movistar Plus +. She plays Sofia Roth, a brilliant chemist who aids Bichir’s character, Nolasco Black, in solving a case involving the infamous Jack The Ripper. Iconic Spanish horror producer Filmax, which is behind such films as “The Machinist,” “Darkness” and “[Rec],” is bringing onto the open market at Cannes one of the most anticipated Spanish smart genre films of 2023, Carlota Pereda’s “The Chapel,” the Spanish director’s follow-up to “Piggy.”

Excerpts from “The Chapel” will be unveiled by Filmax at Fantastic 7, a showcase of international genre movies in advanced production put forward by seven leading film festivals which unspools May 21 at the Marché du Film. The Chapel is nominated by the Sitges Fantastic Film Festival.

Exclusive: Lucía Méndez and Jorge Perugorría have been cast as series regulars in La Máquina, the Hulu limited series that follows an aging boxer (Gael García Bernal) whose crafty manager (Diego Luna) secures him one last shot at a title.

Karina Gidi, Raul Briones, and Luis Gnecco have also joined the project in heavily recurring roles. La Máquina is produced by Searchlight Television, 20th Television, and Bernal and Luna’s La Corriente del Golfo. Saban Films have secured the worldwide rights to the western “The Last Manhunt,” which charts the legend of Willie Boy, the distributor announced on Tuesday. The Christian Camargo–directed film features a story by Jason Mamoa (who’s also executive producing) and screenwriter Thomas Pa’a Sibbett.

True to its name, “The Last Manhunt” is the real-world story of the last great American manhunt of the old west, based on the oral history of the Chemehuevi tribe within the boundaries of what became Joshua Tree National Park. The project features a largely Native American ensemble cast, including Martin Sensmeier, Mainei Kinimaka, Zahn McClarnon, Lily Gladstone, Raoul Max Trujillo, Brandon Oakes and Tantoo Cardinal.
