Akiya is able to "WOW" the crowd to their feet with her powerful voice and talented performances. Akiya Colyar was only a mere 4 years old when she first broke into the entertainment world and the rest is history in the making. Akiya is a soprano voice of the Soul Children of Chicago, which is a stellar award winning professional kids choir since the age of 9.

Akiya has 3 recording cd's with Dr. Walt Whitman Soul Children of Chicago and has shared the stage with celebrity artist such as: Andrea Day, CeCe Winnans, Tasha Cobbs, Aretha Franklin, Jordan-Smith, Nate Ruess, Mary Mary, Jekalyn Carr (young gospel artist and musician-Saginaw, Michigan), Colgate University New York-gospel fest (2), Chicago Ideas week with Brad Keywell, The Taste of Michigan City, Indiana fest (2) (for the Mayor), Windy City Live(4) (Val Warner) and a vocalist (along with Soul Children) of "I am King" (Martin Luther King Documentary on Paramount pictures)....and many more powerful vocalist and celebrities.

Akiya has been featured and performed "Born to Win" single background vocals for Jussie Smollet of Empire on FOX..
