One of the best superhero shows on television, with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, just got a massive update about its Disney+ future. The streaming service is known for being the home of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and along with the Dcu, the two franchises have dominated superhero stories for over a decade. But as the super-powered subgenre has been viewed as a safe bet that will draw audiences, there have been inspired attempts to really grapple with the kind of narratives that are told within that realm.
Some of those attempts come from within Marvel and DC, with The Penguin and Agatha All Along, standing out as two adaptations that break the mold. But many more worthwhile stories approach the subgenre even more daringly, such as the HBO moviemaking satire The Franchise and the Hulu dark comedy Extraordinary. But one of the most successful series of 2023 just got a massive update,...

Hulu, although it had so many ups and downs when it first launched in 2007, is currently one of the best streaming services in the world. With Disney aiming to buy the entirety of Hulu's stakes from Comcast, the possibility of streaming endless movies and TV shows is greater than ever. However, given Disney's consistent decline in producing quality projects for the last few years, Hulu will likely suffer the same fate.
It seems Disney has noticed its losses and is preparing to make significant changes that could benefit Hulu. While Hulu continues adding more titles to its library, it also offers some intriguing original TV shows that will only be available on the streamer. With that in mind, here is a list of every original TV series coming to Hulu in December 2023.

After its success on Hulu, the Korean drama Moving is receiving an official English dub, introducing the show to a new audience. The series follows superpowered South Korean spies who are trying to protect their children from a malevolent government agency while living ordinary lives. Moving delves into complex themes including generational trauma, espionage, and the power of parental love, setting it apart from other action-heavy projects released in Korea.
After becoming the most-watched Korean drama on Hulu in the US and Disney+ internationally, Moving is getting an official English-language dub, and Screen Rant is proud to present an exclusive first look at the trailer. Originally a webtoon by Kang Full, Moving was adapted by the same author into a 20-episode series in 2023 and quickly rose to the top of Disney+'s charts in Asian countries in addition to becoming Hulu's most popular Korean series ever. It seems all the Ott platforms are now building up their Asian content, with something new popping up on a daily basis. While Netflix gives us quality content via shows that come once a week, Prime has been lucky to sport all the big films of the Korean industry, such as Parasite, The Wailing, and more. Their latest addition is not one that stands out. In fact, it’s rather unassuming for its subject matter. My Love Puppy stars Yoo Yeon-Seok and Cha Tae-Hyun, two mighty stars of the Korean industry, yet even with their magnificent star power, this film is as flat as the roads they travel within it. It seems it may not be as hard as we imagined to make a movie about dogs devoid of any real substance. At the end of the day, My Love Puppy ends up being less emotional and more PSA.

"It's nice to meet you, monster. I'm a monster, too." Oh, wow. Hulu has revealed an official US trailer with English subtitles for a Korean superpowers series called Moving. This was actually produced by Disney+ in Korea, similar to the extra crazy series Connect from last year. Based on the webtoon of the same name by Kang Full, the series is a supernatural drama that deals with three teenager high school students and their parents who discover their super powers. It's a play on superheroes, much closer to the X-Men series with its narrative, than anything in the MCU. These teens must conceal their superpowers to shelter their parents who have lived with painful secrets facing great danger over generations. Are the monsters? Or heroes? Who is coming after them now? The cast features Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo, Zo In-sung, Cha Tae-hyun, Ryoo Seung-bum, Kim Sung-kyun, Lee Jung-ha, Go Youn-jung,...

The Killer is a South Korean action thriller movie directed by Jae-Hoon Choi. It stars Jang Hyuk yu.
Merciless action.
Premise
A retired hitman whose wife goes on a trip with her friend, and asks him to look after the friend’s teenage daughter. Things go awry when he is forced to use a little violence to protect the girl from juvenile delinquents, but then they are found dead and the girl is kidnapped.
About the Movie
A “recipe” that worked well – very well – a few years back, and that, applying the same premise and an almost identical character, keeps on repeating itself movie after movie. The elements are there, with the good action sequences, the heroic character, but it not new. However, of what you seek if just raw action this might be to your liking.

Hello Ghost aka Hellowoo Goseuteu (2010) South Korea

South Korea has a difficulty with suicides. On one hand they have one of, if not the highest rates of suicides in the developed world. At around 30 suicides per 100,000 people per year, only Lithuania is as bad. (By comparison, Canada and the U.S.A are around 11 suicides per 100,000 people per year.)
At the same time, because there are many Roman Catholics in South Korea, the belief that suicide is a sin – in fact, the ultimate sin – is widespread. Which may help explain why suicide is not discussed. If (for example) a student snaps during a hellish exam week and kills himself, many schools forbid discussing the death.

Killer Imports [1] is a regular feature on Film Junk where we explore foreign-language films from around the world that haven’t yet had their chance to shine. I think I once loved a girl. The reason I bring this up is that I recently watched a Korean movie called My Sassy Girl and the woman referenced in the title reminded me of her. I wouldn’t normally review a romantic comedy, but I had read about this movie after having seen one of the director’s previous movies, Cyborg She [2], which I favorably reviewed recently. Both these movies are a part of a trilogy by the writer and director, Jae-young Kwak, although the science fiction element in My Sassy Girl is not the basis of the reality in the movie. I’ll get to that soon enough. Since this movie was released in 2001, I’ll admit that I’m late...
