From Connie To Neckties: A Look Back At Days of our Lives Serial Killers
Image
Days of our Lives has had several serial killers in Salem, from The Salem Strangler of the ’80s to the soap’s latest, Killer Connie. Let’s take a look back at some of the best serial killer storylines throughout the years.

Salem’s Serial Killers

Days has had six major serial killers over the past six decades, starting with The Salem Strangler in 1982, who killed three women while harboring an obsession with Marlena (Deidre Hall). Roscoe Born's Family Reveals Cause of Death
Roscoe Born
The soap opera world was rocked last week when news broke that Roscoe Born, a soap opera vet who has appeared in countless daytime-tv shows, had died.

He was 69.

The family of the actor has now spoken out about the tragic death and revealed that the cause of death was suicide.

"It is with heavy hearts that we confirm the death of our father and brother Roscoe Born," the statement reads.

"The gleaming charisma and creativity that shone through his onscreen performances, fueled his robust songwriting repertoire, and charmed all those around him were matched by a darkness in his life."

It continues, "Roscoe has long struggled with bipolar disorder, a shadow that he succumbed to when he took his own life on Tuesday March 3, 2020."

"We are grateful for the outpouring of kind words and memories. We only wish that Roscoe could have seen how much people still carry his daytime villains in their hearts.

Exclusive One Life to Live Anniversary Clip: Are Viki and Clint Doomed?
Monday marks the 45th anniversary of One Life to Live, as well as its debut on the Own network, but while the actors may have cause for celebration, many of their on-screen counterparts do not.

On Monday's episode, Viki (Erika Slezak) and Clint (Jerry verDorn) are in the middle of another rough patch, with Viki still reeling from a recent financial near-disaster, as well as the knowledge that Clint filed a restraining order on behalf of their daughter Natalie (Melissa Archer) against her on-again, off-again love, John McBain (Michael Easton).

'One Life to Live' and 'All My Children' rise online from their TV ashes
Pine Valley and Llanview are open for business again ... in a much different place.

Fans of "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" will recognize the names of those fictional locales immediately. Proving the seemingly impossible can happen, the former ABC daytime serials return with fresh weekday episodes in a new and very contemporary home Monday, April 29. They'll be used to launch The Online Network on iTunes and the Internet platforms Hulu (for free) and Hulu Plus (by subscription).

Many actors are back for the new iterations. "All My Children" again features Vincent Irizarry (alias that show's David), Debbi Morgan (Angela), Thorsten Kaye (Zach), Lindsay Hartley (Cara) and Darnell Williams (Jesse). The "One Life to Live" cast reunion includes seven-time Daytime Emmy winner Erika Slezak (Viki), Robert S. Woods (Bo), Robin Strasser (Dorian), Kassie DePaiva (Blair), Roger Howarth (Todd), Melissa Archer (Natalie), Hillary B. Smith (Nora) and Jerry verDorn (Clint).

AMC and Oltl Stars Reveal What's New — and Improved — About the Resurrected Dramas
Susan Lucci, Debbi Morgan, Rebecca Budig, Cameron Mathison, and Darnell Williams in La force du destin (1970)
In the 40 years since he made his daytime-tv debut, Vincent Irizzary had seen nothing like it — a non-Emmys red carpet event to kick off an evening celebrating soap operas, namely two that had been plucked from the ashes and given life anew.

Irizzary plays David Hayward, a highly duplicitous doctor on All My Children, which like fellow former ABC serial One Life to Live was reborn this week on Hulu and iTunes, via Prospect Park’s The Online Network. The actor calls the dramas’ return, in a new medium, none too small a miracle.

One Life To Live Q&A: Melissa Archer On The Return Of Natalie Buchanan
Melissa Archer at an event for The 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards (2011)
Melissa Archer brings feisty Llanview redhead Natalie Buchanan back to life when "One Life To Live" returns on April 29, thanks to Prospect Park's The Online Network.

Before the show bowed out on ABC in January 2012, Natalie had found love again with her baby daddy, John McBain. But, after actor Michael Easton made the leap to "General Hospital's" Port Charles, where his character shared a brief romantic moment with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), photo proof of which was sent to Natalie courtesy of her uncle Todd Manning (Roger Howarth), Natalie and John's romantic fate took a nose dive.

Review: "Excuse Me For Living" Showcases Young And Veteran Talents
By Lee Pfeiffer

The new romantic comedy ("romcom" for you hipsters) Excuse Me for Living represents the first feature film by Ric Klass, at least in terms of getting any meaningful distribution. (His prior excursion into filmmaking was the little-seen Elliott Fauman, PhD. back in 1990.)  The indie movie goes into theatrical release in select theaters nationwide this week. The film traces the tangled relationships between young New Yorkers, with the emphasis focusing on Dan (Tom Pelphrey), a privileged Gen X'er who nonetheless suffers from severe depression and a penchant for self-destructive behavior. When the film opens, we find him about to leap to his death from a bridge. Saved by a cop, he is "sentenced" to a rehab clinic run by a strict, but compassionate psychiatrist (Robert Vaughn), who attempts to form a personal bond with the troubled young man. Dan agrees to join a therapy group comprised entirely of elderly men,...
