Renowned for his comic timing, Manmauji became a familiar face in popular Hindi cinema, appearing in hits such as The Burning Train (1979), Khiladi (1992), and Baazigar (1993). His work also reached international audiences with his role in Ismail Merchant's The Deceivers (1988), alongside Pierce Brosnan and Shashi Kapoor.
In 2012, he took on one of his most demanding roles, portraying an Anna Hazare-inspired activist in Main Nahin Anna, earning critical praise for his serious performance.
