"You want me to put my name on your show?" Freestyle Digital Media has revealed an official trailer for a comedy film titled Stealing Jokes, a meta comedy about stand up comics getting revenge. This is written and directed by comedian Mike Young, who is also originally from Detroit, and it was filmed in Detroit; this release is timed to his new Rocket Comedy tour this month before hitting VOD in November to watch at home. Writer-director Mike Young’s action-comedy feature Stealing Jokes is set for release next month from Freestyle Digital Media.

The company, which is the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group, has acquired the movie and will release it via digital platforms and DVD on Nov. 1. The ensemble cast includes Jeff Dye (The Wedding Year), Dustin Ybarra (Easter Sunday), HaHa Davis (Domino: Battle of the Bones), Michael Rapaport (Beautiful Girls), Luke Null (Saturday Night Live), Ryu Go Eun (Everything’s Trash), Al Madrigal (Night School) and Michael Manasseri (Weird Science).

Stealing Jokes centers on a comedian and his friends who, after setting out on a comedy tour, get bilked out of their promised fees on the first night. They decide to rob the venue, leading to a heist involving the underworld of the comedy scene. The trailer, which is exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter, can be seen below.

Exclusive: Former NBA star Kevin Garnett has teamed with connected TV firm Ronin Media Networks to launch a global channel.

Veem.TV is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2023 as a Black-owned connected TV network from Hall of Famer Garnett’s LA-based production company, The Content Cartel Studios, and Ronin.

The network will offer programs in genres such as from sports, entertainment, Black culture, education, lifestyle, true stories, comedy and drama.

According to the partners, it’ll reach up to 85 million homes and focus on “promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion in the content it produces and distributes.” The launch line-up will include “exclusive shows and series produced and starring some of the biggest names in sports, comedy and entertainment.”

The Jv partners also plan to deliver a portion of Veem.TV’s proceeds to non-profit organizations including Garnett’s Anything Is Possible Foundation.

A fallen domino champion from Compton enlists his savant, white, step-grandson to help him win an off-the-wall and shady as hell dominoes tournament in the hopes of reclaiming his former hood glory. Domino: Battle of the Bones stars multi-award winning actor David Arquette, along with Snoop Dogg, Lou Beatty Jr., Tasie Lawrence, Megan Sousa, Anthony 'Scruncho' McKinley, Tom 'Tiny' Lister Jr., Godfrey, and Haha Davis. The uplifting comedy stars Snoop Dogg and David Arquette, and tells of an elderly Black man who teams with his awkward, white step-grandson to defeat his rival in a domino tournament.

Davis was an Emmy nominee for co-producing the documentary “Crips and Bloods: Made in America” in 2008. “Domino” marks his feature directorial debut. Joining Snoop and Arquette is Lou Beatty Jr., Tasie Lawrence (“The First Wives Club”), Megan Sousa and a slew of social media influencers including Anthony “Scruncho” McKinley, Tom “Tiny” Lister Jr. and Haha Davis.
