Kimberly Ho

Edit

Biography

    • Kimberly Ho is a filmmaker, performer and interdisciplinary artist, based on the unceded ancestral lands of the Musqueam, Squamish & Tseil-waututh peoples, known as Vancouver. Growing up in a working class immigrant family, Kimberly's work is nourished by collaborative processes & organically aims to be non-hierarchical. In their artistic practice, they seek to explore their Hakka diaspora through the physical body & food culture, framing new media as a dimension of queer futurisms, & immersive art as a site of liberation.

Their directorial works have been exhibited at film festivals including Festival of Recorded Movement (F-O-R-M), Images Festival in Toronto, and Vancouver Asian Film Festival (VAFF), where they garnered the People's Choice Award for Best Short Film and the inaugural Richard K. Wong Film Fund. They are a co-host and co-producer of season 4 "Pride: The LGBTQ+ History Series" with OUTtv, which has been nominated for the Best Web Program or Series, Non-Fiction at the 2023 Canadian Screen Awards.
