Eric Patrick Cameron is an award-winning film director and scholar best known for directing "Magical Mystery Toy" and "The Space Western of the Southwest."
As soon as he could speak, Eric was a storyteller. From writing his own stories in crayon to reciting lines from his favorite films, Eric always knew he was meant to make movies. He began his filmmaking journey at 9 years old and has never looked back. At 16, Eric sought out background performing as a way to gain on-set experience and learn from the masters. He has since worked on several projects as a background artist such as "Avengers: Endgame" and "Obi-Wan Kenobi."
Eric is a born and raised New Yorker, but spent part of 2022 living in Dingle, Ireland where he made his film "The Space Western of the Southwest." He credits his experience in Dingle as being the "highlight" of his life. The film would go on to screen at several festivals throughout the United States and Ireland including HollyShorts Film Festival at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. The film won the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the inaugural Long Island Youth Film Festival.
In addition to his work as a director and actor, Eric is a proud film scholar. He is in awe of where the art form has been, where it is now, and where it is going. A devout Turner Classic Movies fan, Eric uses every opportunity he has to experience cinema from all points in time. This admiration and passion for the history of the moving image led to several academic awards and scholarships. At 22, Eric completed his Master of Arts Degree at NYU Tisch's Martin Scorsese Department of Cinema Studies.
