Robby Takac (born 30 September 1964) is one of the founding members of the Goo Goo Dolls along with Johnny Rzeznik. He is the band's bassist. Robby lives in Los Angeles with his wife Miyoko and two cats. Robby collects pez dispensers and currently has over 1400 of them.

Born Robert Carl Takac, Jr. in West Seneca, New York. Robby has a younger sister, Trish. He graduated West Seneca East High in 1982, and proceeded onto Medaille College where he graduated with a degree in Communications. His focus was on Radio Broadcasting.

Robby started his music career in a punk band called the Monarchs. He later left them, at his cousin's urging, to joining the Beaumonts. He met guitarist Johnny Rzeznik through the Beaumonts and together they found drummer, George Tutuska (no longer with them), starting the band, the "Sex Maggots,". Robby was the lead singer. The band name was later changed to The Goo Goo Dolls with Robby on bass, and Johnny Rzeznik as lead singer. Their first hit single was "Name".

About John: "The way he writes, the way he feels about this band... He kills himself, man. I've never seen anyone put so much emotion into anything. When he's writing a song, veins are popping out of his head. It's really painful."
