Biography

Yakup Aksel is a Turkish actor, director, screenwriter, and stage instructor from Istanbul, Turkey.

His passion for the performing arts began at an early age, actively participating in school plays and amateur theatre. By 2006, he had already started creating short films, showcasing his talent both behind and in front of the camera.

In 2010, Aksel pursued academic studies in film and stage production, gaining expertise in the technical and artistic aspects of filmmaking. After his training, he began teaching performing arts at various institutions (2011 - present), inspiring and mentoring new generations of actors.

Throughout the years, he collaborated with several theatre groups and performed in numerous stage productions. However, after 2017, his focus shifted to on-screen acting, where his commanding presence led him to roles in various television series and feature films.

In 2023, Aksel directed a short film that won an award at the Birol Güven Short Film Competition, further proving his strength in creative storytelling and filmmaking.

Today, Yakup Aksel continues to advance his career by combining his experiences as an actor, director, screenwriter, and educator. With his strong physical presence and passion for storytelling, he aims to make his mark as an international action star.
